Personally, I would never go to Syria even before the crisis. The looks of despair and hopelessness on peoples' faces from pictures in blogs of russian speakers who went there on holiday were enough for me. But if you don't die or get kidnapped, you could visit the Ummayid mosque in Damascus; it's very famous. Also, Aleppo is one of the oldest cities in the world and has lots of historical structure that has survived a very long time. Also, make sure to visit Crac de Chevaliers, but it's close to that city that was ethnically cleansed a month ago, Tel Kalakh... so make sure to not go too far away from the castle.
3. Try telling that to the Turks!

4. After the killing, we will have peace - a little more !
Cecil   (06.25.11)
It's all over.Only 15 additional "saboteurs " had to be massacred, in addition to the more than 1500 alredy dead, Assad can claim victory. He is the best 'Halal " butcher (so far ) as Kaddafi is slowing down. ------ Two of allah's rejects, the misfortune of Syrian and Libyan people ; let us not forget that this oversised fat pig Moallem has assured his " beloved people" democracy in 3 months. What a charade this muslim world, what a rotten bunch !
5. OHH...really...??? Has Your dear wife just

8. SLEEP WELL, IT'S OVER
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (06.25.11)
OK, we can all sleep better tonight, it's all over in Syria. The protesters have been defeated, and they really were foreign elements, just provoking the riots for no reason. Syria is a pleasant free country, and there is no real reason for anybody to protest. If you do, they just shoot you anyway. Plus as we can see the UN, Amnesty International, all the Arab NGO's who profess to care about human rights, really didn't have much to say, did they?
9. Syria
