They should extend it to 24 days and if they are still alive, go for another 24 days, etc etc etc. It's called population control.

Look since we know all the Palestinians will not eat. Because those that did, would be beaten to near death by the other Pal prisoner's Israel can use it to save money. I don't know how many Pal prisoner's there are? But let's say there is 10,000. Then don't make any meals for them. First you'll be helping them with their 24 hour fast. Second with 10,000 people at 3 meals per day, you just save the cost of 30,000 meals, Sweet!! Maybe next time they can have a 48 hour fast, then Israel will save the cost of making 60,000 meals. Just serve the Jewish and other prisoner's their meals, that way the Pals can watch the others eat. What I'm hoping for, is the Pals getting the fast up to one full week. That will save 210,000 meals, it will help the Israeli prison system save money. See there always is a silver lining inside these kinds of clouds. Enjoy your fast boys, hope you have many more.

Truth is that most Hamas fighters are cowards, and not just yellow-bellied crybabies, but the worst kind of cowardly bully. You know, the big dumbass whose dad beats him, so he finds the smallest kids at school to beat up in order to feed his ego. Hamas fighters are not soldiers - they're terrorists. Are the guys in jail members of elite commando squads? No. Are they from advanced intelligence units? No. Would they ever make it in a real seditionist group like the IRA? Never. Who are these guys? They're the Hamas guys who do their best to attack and kill unarmed Israeli civilians. They train men and women to blow up restaurants and buses, not tanks and fortifications. They shoot women and children in houses and cars, not IDF soldiers in the largest bases. So when you think of hunger strikers, you think of Bobby Sands of the IRA, right? He's the guy who did a real hunger strike - and died for his cause. Ask yourselves - will any of these Hamas guys starve themselves to death for their cause? Are you kidding? Hamas fighters with the Bobby Sands level of dedication and principle? Forget it - if they can't stick a knife into a Jewish child while they are starving to death, then it isn't worth it. Bibi made a good start by cutting down some of the luxuries our tax shekels pay for, but he has to go the entire 10 yards with these convicted murderers: -total solitary confinement for all Palestinian terrorist prisoners. -yes, we don't have enough jail cells for that, so dig a few thousand 3 x 3 meter holes in the ground and put one Hamas criminal in each hole with a mattress, a bucket in the corner, and cover it with a slab of iron with a 40 watt bulb and a trap door for food. -cut them off totally from any and all communications they get now: no visits, no letters, no calls, no tv, no radio, no newspapers, no nothing. -solitary confinement means no group prayer and group exercise like they have now. And no sunlight either. Give 'em a vitamin D pill once a week, not that we know that Shalit is getting any. Oh yea, we'll empty the bucket once a week. Make them disappear, and make sure their families know it. They've enjoyed family visits while in jail, but that will stop dead in its tracks. No family visits. No lawyer visits. No red cross visits. No nothing. They can sit in their holes 24/7 for the next 5 years, until Hamas allows the Red Cross to visit Shalit. Then, they may get a single visit by a Red Cross rep, just like Shalit, and then back into their hole. Do it now!

That Shalit be forced to go on a hunger strike too...

Why only 24hrs..it takes far longer to starve to death...encourage them to prolong it and send the food to the needy..

Gilad Shalit has been living in solitary for five years and not even been allowed a Red Cross visit and now their people are going on hunger strike because we are not giving them as easy life as they were getting. Please guys keep up this hunger strike till you die, you will save Israeli taxpayers a fortune and as the only good terrorist is a dead one Israel will be a safer place.

How can we believe that he is in Gaza until now? I don't think he is. This is all a ploy to get prisoners released. How are we so sure that he is alive? It makes no sense to make any negotiation while no one can see him.

They should deny all Palestinians prisoners vvisitation rights and end all privellages and put them in solitary confinement untill Gilad Shalit is released , end of. BB should have done this years ago , but all he does is blah blah blah, Action not words untill Gilad is brought back.

I fast 24 hrs once a month! Big deal! I do it for spiritual and health reasons. Those people, like their cause, is a farce! Do the world a favor and starve yourselves to death!

The conditions they enjoy, compared to those of Gilad are infuriating-the injustice of it all, the cyncism of Hamas' reactions to the taking away of extra rights, the twisting of it, while they commit real crimes and really bad ones, is just unbelievable. As far as I am concerned-these prisoners want me (all Israelis even babies)dead and they tried to obtain their goal, which is why they are in jail- can starve to for as long as they choose-it is their choice.
