I know its the principle, but with functional MRI it probably could be demonstrated the amount of pain an animal experiences. Perhaps that would make Kosher and Hallal slaughter universal. Stunning cannot be a pain free process. Shame, shame.

Judaism was the first civilization to have this as a point of being kind to the animals as well as a health law (whatever you put in you, you become). I for one, am not nervous in the slightest about having a debate over this. If Geert Wilders truly is not anti-semtic, then he and the animal rights activists should gladly welcome a debate. If Kosher slaughtering is truly more humane than stunning, (Which I fully believe it is) then the other side should have no problem in conceding when proven wrong. This is all about 'animals' rights/minimal suffering, right?

Stunning an animal means zapping them with a huge taser. Sometimes it takes more than one electric shock and several minutes of many painful electric shocks before the animal loses consciousness. Can someone please explain how this is more "humane" than instantaneous severing of the carotid artery? Of course it is just less messy and more efficient for the meat industry and has nothing whatever to do with humane animal slaughter. There is nothing humane about administering multiple massive electric shocks, which is the reason the electric chair is no longer used for executions in the United States.

The banning of Jewish ritual slaughter is not about banning cruelty to animals. It simply the latest expression of anti-semitism in the west. If you do not let Jews eat kosher meat maybe they will leave the countries they are in? The Europeans hide their anti-semitism behind many masks, anti-zionism, Anti-Israel, anti-kosher ritual slaughter.
