Matt ,   UK   (06.29.11)
The only French Politician with balls... and it's a woman.
32. Ben Guiga
Ameridane ,   Aarhus, Denmark   (06.29.11)
Is it a Tunisian, Algerian or Moroccan last name. In the danish parliament there is even a Palestinian and she wouldn't even shake hands with male party of her own party members!
33. Monique Cerisier Ben Guiga
Emile ,   Ile de France   (06.29.11)
This lady is a senator from the socialist party. She is the President of "Groupe d'information internationale France-Territoires palestiniens". She was born in Tunisia, and is a good friend of Mashaal whom she visited a while ago. She loves Hamas. To French Jews. Please do not vote for her or the French Socialists in the next elections. Sarkozy is better
34. French Criticism of Israeli Illegailtiy
Alex Weiss   (06.29.11)
Of course Monique is absolutely right to criticize Israel. Not too many supposed democracies indulge themselves in illegal occupation and colonialism in the modern world, and those that do should be treated as they deserve - as pariah states.
35. Nothing new to expect
David ,   Israel   (06.29.11)
she's head of "Groupe d'information internationale France-Territoires palestiniens".
36. The Palestinians Are the Pied Noirs of Arab Colonilaism
Frankie Littlehammer ,   New Herstal, TX, USA   (06.29.11)
Like so often, some Frenchmen get it entirely upside-down. In the seventh Century, Arab Muslim armies occupied what is now the Arab world and their apartheid policies forced local people to convert to Islam. Local cultures and languages were destroyed, or live on as endangered minorities at best. No one expects the Arabs to vacate Syria or Algeria, like Europeans are not going to leave North and South America - but the Europeans have left their colonial empires in Africa and Asia - why can't the Arabs return 1% of their territory to the original owners the Jewish people? I think the Arabs who left Israel are the Pied Noirs of the Arab Colonialism.
37. Madam
bob ,   canada   (06.29.11)
Useless nutty socialist she is, this big mouth doesnt deserve responce. As matter of fact, loonies like this old chick, they strive on argument and attention.
38. colonialists
jean katz ,   maccabim,israel   (06.29.11)
we should make a difference between true French senators and senators of arab origin, blinded by their hate of everything which is jewish Madame ben guiga should better teach morality in the country from which she originated, maybe she wants to become a senator in Tunisia or Libya ?
39. #5, #20, #26, #31, #34
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.29.11)
It is not an 'occupation'. Israel has no control over the interior of the area. Both Gaza and the WB have their own governments. Gaza also borders Egypt, the WB also borders Jordan. Want to stop the blockade? Fine: Get Hamas to stop shooting rockets and stop calling for the obliteration of Israel. If not, you are barking up the wrong tree.
40. @26
(06.29.11)

Jouko ,   Finland   (06.29.11)
43. The TRUE colonialist is she and her like
Noa ,   Beer Sheva   (06.29.11)
Who feel obliged to tell Israel what to do and what not to do. I wonder if they do that with -let's say- Poland. European leaders and Obama think Israel is their country and we natives are too primitive to understand what they want from us!!!!
44. #16
sharon ,   israel   (06.29.11)
Yes, Palestinian prisoners have mothers and they can see their sons. Shalit has not had one visit by the Red Cross, no direct contact with his family, no visits by anyone or knowledge of how he is doing at all. That is the difference!!! Get it???
45. I grew up in France
Yoann D. ,   Tel Aviv   (06.29.11)
I grew up in France, and I must say I am not surprised. I know who's who in France's politics but I've never heard of her. I haven't checked yet but looking at her name it seems she has some kind of arabic origin. I'm guessing french newspapers are gonna love this. Many times I've had discussions on Israel with non-jewish french people, and many of them are questioning the legitimacy of our State. Antisemitism and anti-zionism are deeply rooted in Europe's traditions and it's not about to change. Massive immigration from arab ex-colonies made it even more virulent. There's another thing about french people: they love to give lessons despite their own more-than-questionnable past. I'm glad I moved from there.
46. Even bin Laden enjoyed colonialism
stop apologizing   (06.29.11)
So show us the pictures from his house. Also, try to take the Arabs to their Coke or their social networks and see what happens... These are historical processes. the west do not need to apologize for them and they brought with them not only bad but also good.
47. - And French occupied lands??
ETA ,   tel aviv   (06.29.11)
What about the illegal French occupation and cultural genocide in Brittany, Corsica, Flanders, New Caledonia, Basque, and Elsass-Lothringen ("Alsace-Lorraine")?!
48. End the French occupation of Corsica Now!
Corsica patriot ,   corsica   (06.29.11)
49. The MKs got their junket to France...
Moshe ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.29.11)
what else matters? I hope they enjoyed the food (especially the escargot!), the shopping, the sightseeing. I'm sure they- and thus we, the taxpayers- derived much from the trip. We paid for the trip. I hope they sent us a postcard.
50. Hypocrites
Ariel ,   USA   (06.29.11)
Funny, that a nation that has claimed colonies from the world over, forced loyalty to France onto completely foreign peoples, and stole their resources for the betterment of the motherland is lecturing Israel. Hilarious.
51. 10 MILLION MUSLIMS IN FRANCE...
Morris   (06.29.11)
What do you expect from Miss BEN GUIGA ?... Poor France...
52. Thank you Monique !
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (06.29.11)
You speak up for Truth and Liberty ! France is supporting the Pal Statehood ! Israel has no chance !
53. her name is...
aline silverman ,   israel   (06.29.11)
....Ben Giga....Should I say more?????
54. Are there....
aline silverman ,   israel   (06.29.11)
...2" Marco of Spain"????
55. #16
R ,   Israel   (06.29.11)
Here's the difference: the Palestinian prisoners in Israel get to corespond with and see their families, are visited by the red cross, and get dozens of other priveleges. Gilad Shalit cannot correspond with his family or anyone else, has not been visited by the red cross nor anyone else for 5 long years. If you think that Gilad's situation is OK, perhaps you should try it.
56. Since When Has Any Israeli Government Been Diplomatic?
World Citizen ,   the world   (06.29.11)
You Israelis only want to whine about diplomatic codes when someone else does the same thing your officials do constantly. The fact of the matter is someone stood up and spoke the truth to your faces and you can't stand the truth. As far #42's statement that all French Jews should move to Israel. What a joke. One really has to laugh when we hear that on this site. Why would a sophisticated French citizen who happens to be Jewish want to move from a first world country to a hot, dusty, dry, backward theocracy? A place where the average man can't even make a decent wage but the ruling oligarchs own everything? A place where you can't even get a bus on Shabbat? A place where women are put in gaol for praying at the Western Wall? A place constantly at war with every country in the region? Ten times more Jews are moving to France from Israel than the other way around. Does that tell you anything?
57. 56 / World Citizen
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (06.29.11)
Ten times more Jews are moving to France from Israel than the other way around. Does that tell you anything? I think it tells us that you are full of hot air or something.
58. Well, France should know...
William ,   Israel   (06.29.11)
It's because of them that Syria and Lebanon are in tense arguments these days over borders. France just recently left its colonies in Africa but still meddles in their internal affairs. UK isn't much better. But France was NO WHERE to be found when Jews were ethnically cleansed from their land in 1948, and have simply return to it after re-capturing it from Arabs, reversing a war crime that France seemed comfortable to accept. After all - France does deal closely with the most corrupt Arab leaders and circumvents most Arab-targeting UN sanctions.
59. #56 world(?)- Add this to #57
(06.29.11)
"A place constantly at war with every country in the region" Simple: because every country attacks it and wants to destroy it. They have not and will not succeed. No apologies.
60. #16 Don't do the crime if you don't wanna
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (06.29.11)
