What is the source in traditional Biblical Jewish law that requires "democracy" as the system of government?

When they are not trying to undermine our national unity, they support anti-Israeli NGOs and the BDS scam. I am not sure whether any of these professors have taught or had tenure at US univesities, nor am I sure if the American National Anthem is played at their graduation, but I am SURE that if the above 2 conditions are met, that NON of these professors would dare object, even though there may be some Amercian graduates who do not accept the USA government of representing them in any way.

Wow! I cannot believe that these professors did not want to offend arab students. The arab students that were present in the graduation ceremony, chose to study in Israel and they should be grateful for receiving an excellent education. For this reason alone, these Arab students should stand there in respect of hearing Hatikva. At the end of the day, Israel gave these Arab students the oppotunity to study. Furthermore, I am shocked at how politically correct these academics have attempted in becoming. They have bceome politically correct to the point where it is incorrect and the only thing they are doing is hurting and slowly destroying Israel. Last but not least, i would not be surprised if such people participated in the Nakba and Naksa day celebrations.

They don't want to insult the Arab students by singing the national anthem of the country in which these students hold citizenship? The anthem of the country that infers the same rights upon them as on all other citizens? The anthem of a country that affords them more rights than any Arab country would afford them? How does this offend anyone? If anything, a Democratic state would play the anthem in a show of pride, representing the people of Israel. I am a Jew that grew up in Italy as a kid. I attended public school there, and every morning I would respectfully stand alongside my classmates as they chanted the "Hail Mary." As a Jew, I did not pray along, but I stood up out of respect because I knew that I was living in a culturally Catholic country. On that note, Israel is culturally Jewish. The Arab and Muslim minority here know exactly where they live, and what culture they are living in. The problem here is those "scholars" in the ivory towers of Haifa University who have lost touch of the everyday world that so many of us live thorugh here in Israel... a Jewish world. Regardless if you are Jewish or not.

This is familiar for me, sadly familiar. Here in Spain there are two communities that always, for years, are offended when Spanish anthem (or King's photo, or Spanish flag, etc) is performed: Catalonia & Vascongadas (name it as Basque Country is a hard joke). By our experience, DON'T LET IT PROGRESS, CUT THESE ACTS FROM THE FIRST. Anyone who denies his own country has two options: accept the rules and be quiet, or leave the country. The third case is seed of confrontations.

Actually, this *is* the same crowd that is offended that the national flag includes the Jewish star, that schools teach Bible, that the country follows the Jewish calendar. When I lived in Canada, I stood at attention when they played the national anthem even though I was an American. No one says the Arabs have to sing the anthem if it "offends" them (What doesn't* offend them?). But it should be played and they should respect it. "If I am not for myself, who will be for me?" Every time I read an article like this I ask if it's even worth making Aliyah. Whats the point in living in Israel if you can't be a proud JEW. Wake up Israel, stop these liberal anarchists from destroying the Jewish soul of Israel.

Haifa University should not receive a single shekel of funding, public or private, till it publicly apologizes for it's disgusting ban on Hatikvah and guarantees nothing similar will ever happen again. Moreover, whoever instated the ban must be immediately fired.
