If the Druze consider a 1st century CE rabbi a righteous person, it does suggest that they were perhaps there before the Muslim/Arab invasion. Perhaps they, like the Samaritans and the small group of Jews who remained in Palestine, can be considered the true indigenous population of the region. Regardless, with their co-religionists in Lebanon and Syria, they may be more likely to serve as a bridge towards other groups in the region. Israeli Jews would do well to cultivate the relationship with them.

Druze ,   Israel   (07.02.11)
The Druze originaly are the real old Hebrews. Till this day thay are living according to the prophets teachins in the Tanakh- Bible This is a Druze secret they don't publish it because of fear of the Muslems to attack the Druze in Lebanon and Syria
6. #5 No... Druze are not 'real old Herews'
Dmitry   (07.02.11)
With all due respect... there are enough Druze who break the secrecy thing and post stuff on the internet. Today we know what you really believe in. Don't worry about it, it's not anything for us outsiders to get excited about. Oh, and we know that your sect was founded in the 11 century by an imam from Cairo (thanks wikipedia). I just hope that one day the region will be peaceful enough so that the Druze don't have to feel like they always have to obey and follow the strongest around.
7. A reply to #5 and #6

Being a Druze with good knowledge about our faith, we do not limit our selves to the Hebrews and we tend to have a Universal Unitarian view of religions in which we value people who existed before Abrahamic religions for example the Greek Pythagoras and Egyptian Hermes we do respect some jewish sages as we do concerning Christian and Muslim ones so claiming we follow the jewish law is false actually orthodox muslims and the quran was mainly based on the midrashim but our laws are less likely based on it and you are right #15 that Druze was founded during 11th century but according to our faith the movement existed as a secret sect before revealing it self and the sages we respect are those who resemble the spirit of the faith whether hebrew or chinese . and being secretive about the faith is part of the esoteric gnostic nature of the druze and not about persecution, I think its good to have common religious and social events with jews , christians and muslims but any claim that we belong to any of these religions stands against the Unitarian nature of the faith and its view of itself as spiritual order with spiritual laws rather than a religion or a sect

The Druze have been good to Israel, they serve in the IDF and are full Israeli citizens. I wish all the people in the Middle East were like the Druze.
