8. U.S. idea sure to lead to failure
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.01.11)
Look at Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Iran,North Korea etc. Wherever the U.S. stuck their noses in,it wound up being a total mess Rest assured, if Hillary & Obama can screw it up, they will Obama knows as much about diplomacy as he knows about restoring the American Economy & reducing Unemployment, which is less than zilch
9. Consistency
max ,   washington dc   (07.01.11)
What is the US Policy toward Dictactors, Absolute Monarchies and Repressive Regimes in the Middle East? So far there appears to be no consistency as Saddam Hussein was removed and now Iraq is back to sectarian strife, Mubarak of Egypt was forced to resign and now Egypt could be taken over by the Moslem Brotherhood and others who oppose the Peace Treaty with israel. Ghadafi is called to resign after killing many of his people while Assad is still coddled after killing almost 2000 protesters to date and the proposed road map is to keep him in power? The Middle East Policies make no sense!
10. The overtly anti-Israel stance of the US govt. is sickening.
Jake ,   USA   (07.01.11)
Mubarak was a stable leader in Egypt, 1 week of protests and Obama demands that he step down, paving the way for the most vile extremists to gain power---Mubarak was friendly to Israel. Assad is a brutal dictator, killing scores of his own citizens every day, and the U.S. backs him---Assad is the lynchpin between Iran and the Hamas-Hezbollah murderous axis. The White House is so clearly anti-Israel it makes me sick. I would have more respect for Obama if he just came out and said the truth: "I hate Israel, and I support her murderous enemies".
11. Beware of another Obama disaster.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.01.11)
The real goal of every Obama plan is to secure lunatic Israeli retreats. Beware of another Obama disaster.
12. Just another "Shovel Ready" job
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.01.11)
which leads to a Roadmap filled with potholes The Emperor of the Universe (so he thinks) will do his usual job of screwing up the works in order get attain the New World Order he has his heart set on
13. the USA in MENA: the New Brits without the pretty accents
Chris ,   Dallas, USA   (07.01.11)
How many sticks and carrots can the USA and this administration continue to utilize over there before Americans begin to realize that our leaders are insane and playing around with real fire? Bush wanted Israel to smack Assad during Lebanon II. We find out they hit some nuclear reactors in 07, but it was denied by Syria. Pelosi goes to Syria to woo Assad. The Arab Spring happens and Assad becomes HIllary's pet reformer. Then he becomes Nasty Arab Leader number 2,3, or 4 when things aren't as pretty as sold to the Americans. Then many folks are forced into Turkey and the Turks get upset at Assad. Now this tale. America, come HOME! Play around with something you understand, like Puerto Rico.
14. when will the US learn to butt out of the Middle East
zionist forever   (07.01.11)
All these well meaning US governments keep coming up with these plans for other countries and they usually end up getting it totally wrong. US politicians really don't seem to understand the Middle East very well. Clinton believed Arafat could be the peacemaker. Bush mistakenly believed that Iraqis were going to be throwing flowers at the feet of American soldiers because they got rid of Saddam. Obama thinks that if he sucks up to the muslims enough and makes enough messianic speeches then we can have peace. There are idiots like John Kerry who believe every word Assad tells him. All Assad needs to do is tell John Kerry I want to be the Ghandi of the Middle East and he goes rushing back to Obama good news Assad is the great peacemaker. Obama didn't support the democracy campaigners in Iran. With Egypt he just dithered With Libya he was the last leader in the western world to even condemn Gaddafi by name and even longer before he got round to calling on him to resign. It took the Arab League to talk him into taking action. He never criticises Abbas and just keeps saying we need to get the peace talks started. Assad has just killed over 1000 Syrias because they are protesting to his rule and demanding he goes but no Obama believes that he can keep Assad in power and that he is suddenly going to embrace democracy. Democracy will cost Assad his job so how does Obama think he can have it both ways? I would also like to know what Obama's plans for Israel are in this roadmap, what is Israel going to be asked to concede in the name of bringing democracy to Syria?
15. Like the first road map...
Aharon   (07.01.11)
A picture of a circle.
16. Apology
Matt93312 ,   Bakersfield, USA   (07.01.11)
I want to apologize to the the one nation in the world that our president has not apologized to... Israel. I am sorry that we have elected a man who is incapable of appreciating the special relationship that our country has long enjoyed with you and the Jewish people. Our relationship started way back before America was a nation and before Israel was reborn in your God given land. When General George Washington's Continental Army had reached the end of it's financial rope in the American Revolution, it was a Jewish man named Haym Solomon who pledged his life savings to support our fighting men. The supplies and armaments that his generosity purchased secured victory for our people and led to the freedoms that we now enjoy. Without this intervention, Yorktown would have been lost--as well as our hope for freedom in the new world. Let us all pray that President Obama receives wisdom and chooses to bless our friends in Israel.
17. Another Roadmap?
Pixelated Dwarf ,   USA   (07.02.11)
Seems that someone needs more than an American Roadmap . The USA has a poor bating average when it comes to Middle East Roadmaps (Wars, interventions, conflicts EtAl).
18. The Clinton's still cling to the idea Assad is a "reformer"
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (07.02.11)
Hillary and Bill (apparently at the panic-striken behest of the Saudi regime he consults for) have been long-time promoters of Assad as a "reformer" and linchpin of the "peace process". I am not making this up!!! Their limp-wristed nonchallant attitude toward Assad's butchery of 1000's his own people - compare this with Hillary's hysteria over an apartment being built for Jews - really demonstrates the unfitness of both of them for any further involvement in US foreign policy. Does anybody really think bloodthirsty Assad would keep the peace with Israel after he got the Golan back??? Hillary does. So does Bill. That's why they still moronically cling to their "reformer", hoping he'll survive, as if he's somehow "different" from Ghaddafi. America needs these 2 losers out of our nation's business ASAP. Their sleazy conduct undermines every value America stands for.
