being held responsible for murder or near murder.
2. Just release the report...
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (07.02.11)
The world wants to know the truth, not some whitewashed lie. Turkey is guilty. Turkey demanded the UN commission. Now, Turkey threatens Israel AGAIN unless Israel agrees to whitewash the truth? I am extremely disgusted with both our gov't and the UN. Not really unexpected, but depressing nonetheless. Even when we are proven innocent, we are still bullied into accepting guilt. The world is a sick, sick place.

4. Afraid to offend the Turks???

"According to the sources, if Israel and Turkey reach mutual understandings, the United Nations may decide to moderate the reports' conclusions and refrain from assigning direct blame on one of the sides." What??? The above qoute tells me that there are at least 2 maybe 3 different reports and only one of which may be relatively truthful. Why hesitate to release the actual findings? In the past the UN has been quick to condemn Israel on the flimsiest of evidence while ignoring blatent violations of international law by others. Because of this, I suspect the UN is using this report as leverage aimed primarily at the Turks in an effort to persuade them to admit their entanglement in the flotilla affair...good luck with that! The bottom line is that the evidence is overwhelmingly against the Turks and the UN desperately wants to prevent ticking them off by stating the obvious. I hope Ban Ki Moon resists the temptation to do this, releases the full report, and let the chips fall where they may.

Truth from the UN?, from BAN Ki?, You're nuts. Whitwashing, lies, distortion, fabrication, are the specialties of this house of horror, including it's boss..If Bibi should dare apologizing or pay compensation to these gangsters, I will curse him and his govt forever. My curse is far superior than those wishy / washy rabbis curses, of no value.

Eyad Sarraj, Director of the Gaza Community Mental Health Programme is also on the Free Gaza Movement Board of Advisors. During the June 2009 Goldstone mission hearings in Gaza, Sarraj made antisemitic remarks: “Israeli soldier has the image of absolute superiority . . . and he uses it without thinking of humanity at all . . . inside Israel there is an identification with the aggressor, the Nazis.” he also stated that the aim of the flotilla is charcteraizing the palestinians as the victims and the israelies as vilans!!!

It's good to hear your family prospered in Turkey with no discrimination for years. The bond between Turkey and Israel has helped both countries. But the present government is not the government of Kemal Ataturk. Things have changed, with the Turks saying that black is white. This will hopefully not last forever, but the truth must not be denied.

solomon ,   bklyn   (07.02.11)
You are right. Turkey is also not the one whose soldiers had to defend against armed terrorists (knives, clubs, a firearm or two) while shooting paintball guns. They tried to illegally break a legal blockade. But you ignore facts, so why start now, right?
15. Israel foolish to agree to this
Rachel ,   US   (07.02.11)
Did Turkey insist that the Goldstone Report be soften?
16. @Alyson lane #12:
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (07.02.11)
Alyson. The lawfare will not work. Anything we throw at them, they just throw straight back at us, regardless of reality. This is the result of the idiotic concept of "moral equivalence" that the lazy minded masses of the world would rather cling to, rather than make distinctions for themselves, which require independent thought. Gloves are off, and it is time for war. Civility does not work with the "barbars".

David Israel ,   NY USA   (07.03.11)
I am born and raised in Izmir and a strong supporter of modern Turkey that follows the path of Ataturk. It is true that Jews lived a fairly peaceful life - compared to Cristians - it was not as wonderful as you described. Under the Ottoman rule they were taxed dearly and were the poorest of all minorities. It was the establishment of Alliance Israelite Universelle schools, funded by French Jery that changed that. In 1936 there was the Kiklareli pogroms. In 1941 the Varlik vergisi - s Special tax law - and the unfair 20th draft military service which really was a labor camp in Yozgat and Afyon. In 1955 the September 6-7 incidents. Mark: in my youth in Izmir we only related to the educated Turkis bouguasy . We were not aware that there was a huge silent ultra religious, uneducated mass waiting for AKP to come to power and turn their anti Semitism into national policy. Today, unfortunately modern Turkey has been hijacked by these zealots.
20. Delusional Zionist Terrorist Israel is the CULPRIT remember?
Levo ,   Turkey   (07.03.11)
Nobody in Turkey whether Secular or Pious could give a horse's backend about murderous Zionist State and the microscopic intransigent Israel should feel most fortunate if the Turks were to ever forgive her for her unprovoked murders of ten unarmed Flotilla Activists last year!!!
