31. even japan recognized HAMAS as a TERROR GROUP!
laura ,   berlin, germany   (07.02.11)
The flotilla organizers intend to aid and support Hamas, which is designated a terrorist organization by members of the international community, including the U.S., Canada, Israel, the EU, Japan, and Jordan. Hamas’ founding document calls for the murder of Jews, the “obliteration” of Israel, and Israel’s replacement with an Islamist theocracy.
32. Yesterday they were scared, today they are puffed up
Harry Wright ,   US   (07.02.11)
with bravado. Well, seeing that they were told by Greek embassy employees in the US "that the Americans instructed them to do it", then it is time for Obama to send an FBI contingent to arrest and escort them back home where they must be put on trial for breaking international maritime law. Compensation should be paid to Greece for all the trouble they caused. Greece has enough troubles to be saddled with these lawless Americans. They have done their part remarkably well and the US should now take over and relieve them.

"Both the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross issued statements in June 2010, supported by numerous human rights groups, that condemnded Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip as illegal. International humanitarian law (specifically the 1977 amendment to the Geneva Conventions) prohibits the use of collective measures that do not distinguish between civilians and the military" Are you talking about Shalit in the first parragraph? Are you talking about: Lybia, Syria, Lebanon in the second parragraph?
34. WHY FROM GREECE?
patrick a.hammel ,   zermatt,switzerland   (07.02.11)
I was wondering why these new-titanic operators have chosen to come to turkey or greece where they could expect the problems they are now facing. The Turks on one hand do not want to repeat their mistake especially with the UN report coming out! It would be a tragic mistake for the Israeli government to allow a watered down report in order to reetablish good relations with Turkey. The world has to know that the Turks were responsible for the death on their ship! If the Israelis cave in they might as well as forget any hasbara or pr in the future! And Greece realises only that they cannot allow anyone breaking a legal embargo wether to gaza or cuba! As for the liars aboard the Flotilla I only have one question: why did you not choose to leave for Gaza from tanger, morocco;algiers, algeria;bizerte, tunisia;benghazi, lybia;alexandria, egypt, beirut, lebanon, lattakia, syria??? COULD IT BE THAT THOSE OH SO LOVING ARAB COUNTRIES WHEN IT COMES TO THEIR SO-CALLED PALESTINIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS , TOLD YOU TO TAKE A FLYING LEAP??? I suggest you leave from the "Bermuda triangle" next year ,you won't have to look for excuses then!!!

solomon ,   bklyn   (07.02.11)
Once again: Gaza borders Egypt. Items can be brought in through Egypt. Israel has also volunteered to admit items into Gaza after inspection. The purpose of the flotilla is only to break a legal blockade. Also: It is forbidden to fight, using civilians as human shields. This is done by both Hamas and Hezbollah. But I wouldn't expect you to bring up inconvenient facts.
36. "Radicalization of the 'Palestinians'"
seth bullock ,   south dakota   (07.02.11)
Their radicalization starts in school, with cartoon characters and teachers telling them that Jews and other non-Muslims are evil and deserve to die/be killed. The region will have hope only when this stops.
37. #22 rachel: from that Jewish man
Tom ,   USA   (07.02.11)
The founder of Code Pink is Jodie Evans and her billionaire Jewish husband, named Max Palensky is the money man.
38. Are they brain dead or what? Gazans say, "no need"!
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (07.02.11)
Gazan businessmen say it isn’t imports that are problem, it’s exports. “Gaza doesn’t need anymore humanitarian aid”, says Gisha movement director. http://tinyurl.com/save-gaza-from-what
39. Dror Feiler
Lizette ,   Stockholm Sweden   (07.02.11)
The proud of Sweden.. NOT.
40. Rename ship Audacity of Dopes
Cynthia ,   USA   (07.02.11)
Hiding behind a peace sign is Yonatan Shapiro, the guy who spray painted "Free Gaza" on the Warsaw Ghetto wall, Dror Feiler, the so called artist who memorialized a Palestinian homicide bomber in Sweden, Medea Benjamin, the obsessed ranting women behind the boycott of Israel and Greta Berlin, whose only claim to fame is her anti-Israel propaganda campaign. These self-righteous individuals are creating a PR stunt at Israel's expense to justify their existence.
41. #26 - you're nearly a year behind the times
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (07.02.11)
Everything was eased months ago and less trucks go in than are now allowable because there is not enough demand on the Gazan side. http://tinyurl.com/save-gaza-from-what A lot can, and does change in a year. Gazan businessmen say it isn’t imports that are problem, it’s exports. “Gaza doesn’t need anymore humanitarian aid”, says Gisha movement director.
42. I am willing to bet
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.02.11)
That this Flotilla will wind up as one fool, madly paddling a Kayak in the direction of Gaza, which will overturn and the the fool will be lost at sea, winding up as a companion to Bin Ladin
43. Let them sail to Sudan or Chechnya!
Dan ,   USA   (07.02.11)
44. In the meantime they make money for the press
Sink them ,   Please   (07.02.11)
The press is happy to publish this kind of garbage.
45. Israel denies it sabotaged Gaza flotilla ships
observer ,   Egypt   (07.02.11)
then who did it? the activists? have the activists ever lied? has Israel ever told the truth?
46. The latest news....
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (07.02.11)
Ha ha ha! The captain was arrested. His absurd decision to steer this crappy boat away from port without permission constitutes a felony in Greece. I wonder has anyone asked for a comment from that glib Dror.
47. #41 Michael Redbourn - some EXPORT data for Gaza
CK Tan ,   SIngapore, Singapore   (07.02.11)
Official records up to march this year show Gaza exported more than 360 tons of strawberries, more than 5 million carnations and more than 6 tons of peppers. At the same time, Gazans have begun exporting tons of tomatoes to Europe. And as reported by Chinese media, Gaza continues to export even after hamas staged a murderous coup d'etat against its fatah rivals in 2007. It has to be remembered that exports go up and down according to seasonal production. Also, all goods to be sold abroad have to meet the necessary standards or else they are rejected.
48. Activists trained on nonviolent evasion of soldiers' violenc
observer ,   Egypt   (07.02.11)
Israel has motivated sabotage that could well have caused the deaths of nonviolent human rights defenders in international waters. And they have threatened violent military interception of the flotilla in international waters.

Devorah   (07.02.11)
You know what? You fall flat on your face with every comment you make. I can't even get angry with you because I almost feel sorry for you.

All your doing baby is poatting yourself on the back (for what I ask?) and trying to get known because you're a freak of nature. Poor guy. And to think you got paid for your rubbish. go home, get drunk ande sleep it off. I'm sure you you'll feel more sane tomorrow!
51. "We'll go to Gaza, NOTHING will stop us"
tiki ,   belgium   (07.02.11)
"To all of you stupid 'talkbackers, you don't understand! Laws are made for YOU to obey, not us, the Flotilala's of the ultra Left! If WE want something, no law, national or international will stop us! We decide what's right according to OUR laws. When Israel is doing something, anything, we'll use the law of course, any law, national or international, terrorist, tribal or our own, we'll find something that suits us." Signed: the Flotilala's.
52. #10 the watling kids
observer ,   Egypt   (07.02.11)
On 13 May 1948, Najd was occupied by the Negev Brigade as part of Operation Barak, before Israel was declared a state and before any Arab armies entered Palestine. The villagers were expelled and fled to Gaza. In 1951, the town of Sderot was built on the village's lands. According to UN Resolution 194 and also the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 13, Section 2, the villagers of Najd have a right to return home to their personal property and to their native village.
53. #35
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (07.02.11)
#35: No, the Egypt border is only open for moving people, not goods. Where do you see Hamas and Hezbollah using civilians as shields? When an IDF soldier kills a civilian, that's the excuse used to justify it. And they've killed many, many civilians. Many more than Hamas has killed Israeli citizens. There's an inconvenient truth for you.
54. #47
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (07.02.11)
#47: The purpose of the blockade is to keep the Gazan economy as weak as possibly. Unemployment is high, wages are low. Gaza is very dependent on aid for others. Israel controls what they can and can't export. Exporting vegetables and fruit isn't going to make the economy strong.
55. #49
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (07.02.11)
Typical... Somebody says something you don't like, but instead of trying to prove they are wrong, you just insult them. Observer makes a very good point. Israel is known for sabotage, lies, and being sneaky. What do you think the Mossad is? Just wondering.
56. Flotilla
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (07.02.11)
Has many Pro-Occupation supporters very nervous and scared. It's pretty clear based on the comments about the flotilla members, labeling them terrorists with no proof. Add sabotaging their boats, murdering them in international waters, and pressuring another country to prevent them from leaving their docks... Israel knows if they leave, hopefully they do, that Israel will one again be exposed as a terror state. Just saying.
57. This is just like living in the sixties
John Robey ,   Austin, Texas   (07.02.11)
in the southern U.S. when civil rights busses were set on fire in an attempt to stop the freedom riders. It did not work for the segregationists then and it will not work now. Freedom for opressed peoples is, in the long run, is irrrepresabile!
58. #57 Clueless
Cynthia ,   USA   (07.02.11)
Palestinians smuggle weapons into Gaza to murder Israelis. The blockade is to stop the weapons smuggling. Do you consider members of the Mexican cartels freedom fighters?
59. #48 what's your proof?
(07.02.11)
60. #45, 48, 52 Blind Observer
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.03.11)
#45- The "activists" lied beginning long ago, when they spoke of famine in Gaza. They continued to lie during the first flotilla, when they said they were 'peace activists'. They have no connection with 'peace'. They lie now. #48-Military interception in international waters of persons attempting to break a blockade is legal. But you don't believe in facts, so why start now. #52- Once the arabs did not accept partition, and attacked, your claim is null and void. The arabs attacked the entire country. If they would have won (G-d forbid) would you then say the Jews have a right to return? Of course not. Blind as usual.
