The War rule is the same everywhere : better a soldier dead (jewish or not.. who cares? he's still a soldier) and DO NOT kill any civilians. So the answer to your question is better a Jewish soldier dead than 5 Arabs civilians (whatever their political opinions are) And by the way - the opposite is true as well: better an Arab soldier dead than 5 Israeli civilians (whatever their political opinions are)

Rabbis just like everyone else in Israel have the right of free speech and just like everyone else have the same limitations to free speech. Rabbis have more influence than any simple citizen and therefore must be careful in what they say. The King’s Torah is supposed to be the Halacha of war. If this is true the rabbis should have made it clear. If their intention is to say we are in a perpetual state of war so the Halacha applies now they are misguided. These rules should apply, if indeed they are Halachic, to hot battle conditions only.
