1. it seems only natural in some ways that germans
(07.06.11)
want to feel some sense of redemption by being friends with Israel. even children of parents of those nazi's who played a part in the war machine. one has to ask. if parents who were nazi's have nothing to fear about their past, then why do not they not talk about it freely. that is all telling right there in and ofitself. the fact that this man's father was a nazi and could not talk about anything until he was 89, speaks volumes about what he thought, even though he did not express it outwardly. think about it.
2. i think many germans can feel like outsiders in their own
(07.06.11)
culture in some ways also. same as how us jews can feel like outsiders all the world round even in the usa. i have been to Israel and as an american jew, i felt like an outsider, but heck in the usa my native tongue i still feel like an outsider here also. i do not know why but i get the feeling sometimes that we jews just dont seem to feel like we fit in anywhere.
3. As a Jew, I respect his candor
Emperor ,   USA/Israel   (07.07.11)
Dr. Kindermann, thank you for your support and candor. Please spread your feelings and experience about Israel with all your friends in Europe. Not since the end of the Shoah have we felt a greater animosity against our people in general and Israel in particular. Maybe our terrible PR (Hasbará) is one of the reasons, but my Jewish DNA tells me otherwise. Anyway: Shalom and come back to visit!
4. So close under the terms of the Ankara document
lydia ,   Brisbane   (07.07.11)
5. Seems like a wise & decent fellow
Zvi   (07.07.11)
6. Friends close but enemies closer
k ,   US   (07.07.11)
I am sure it works both ways how can Israel forgive after what happened 70 years ago
7. Nazi Army?
Dror ,   Tel Aviv   (07.07.11)
As a German-Jew living in Israel, I feel I have to clarify something: What do you mean with Nazi Army? The Wehrmacht (the general army of Germany back then). Every man had to become a soldier of it, regardless of whether he was agreeing with the Nazis or not. Or was his father a member of the SS? Those in the SS were "real" Nazis. You could only join if you were a party member etc.
8. David and Goliath Analogy
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (07.07.11)
David (Israel) is still David and the "Palestinian" Goliath must still be seen from the spectrum of the greater Arab world still trying to liquidate Israel.
