1. some of the Palmer report findings:
(07.07.11)
The blockade is legal under international law and international law permits the interception of ships outside territorial waters,. Israel’s Turkel commission that investigated the events was professional, independent and unbiased. The Turkish investigation was politically influenced, not professional nor independent. The Palmer Committee criticizes the IHH as well as its ties to the Turkish government, suggesting Turkey did not do enough to stop the flotilla Israel is not asked to apologize to Turkey, but the report does recommend it expresses regret over the casualties. The Palmer Report also doesn't ask Israel to pay compensation, but proposes Israel transfer money to a specially-created humanitarian fund. Israel is criticised for using excessive force. Bit of a drubbing for Turkey really...no wonder they dont want it published.
2. Why?
Eyal ,   USA/ISRAEL   (07.07.11)
Why is Israel always so nice to Turkey and Turkey can do or say what they want? Why do we always look like we are begging Turkey to please like us? It seems Israel closes their ears and eyes, while Turkey rants and does whatever it wants. Turkey was directly involved with the IHH and we don't want to severe relationship with Turkey, yet Turkey doesn't need Israel? Why is Israel always kissing everyone else's feet, including Abbas's feet, while they spit on us?
3. As always, Israel offers a ladder
Mikey   (07.07.11)
For terrorist supporting bunches in order to climb down the tall tree they sit on. Enough is enough already. Israel is presenting the other cheek (as always) for slapping. Don't forget about Turkey's efforts to delegitimise Israel in the past few years, and their Arab backing before the revolutions hit their faces and they were able to see how all those Turkish backed leaders butchered their own people. At least they still have the Qaddafi human rights award. Good that the Israelis are less stupid and won't visit Turkey again anytime soon. Greece is the best option. Funny, how things get back at Turkey so hard, what a fiasco.
4. Always keep Israel on the defensive~
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (07.07.11)
Never take the diplomatic offensive. Never take the diplomatic initiative. Never be diplomatically proactive. Never upset anybody. Only Israel should be threatened and upset. Wusses!
5. Turkey will not save you!!!!
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (07.07.11)
6. Because Israel is not as childish and small-minded as Turkey
Yaniv ,   Israel   (07.07.11)
7. Who those effing Turks think they are?
avi ,   israel   (07.07.11)
8. This is the most artificial contrived 'falling out' possible
Tim ,   Brighton   (07.07.11)
In every walk of society all over the world Turkish and Jewish Community relationships are thriving despite this hiccough Nobody apart that is from some politicians and a handful of fanatics take any notice of this charade So to the diplomats and politicians - get a life - put this episode behind us and get on
9. Our gov't?
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (07.07.11)
Our Gov't is is a bumch of clueless, spineless, dhimmis...with the exception of a few like Lieberman. They wouldn't know how launch a media campaign to vindicate Israel if they wanted to. The gov't cannot stop the independent Israeli media and citizens from going on a PR offensive to vindicate Israel. In fact, if our own gov't does not have the cojones to stand up for us, then I damn well hope the people with the means to do so, will take the initiative! A few groups like Im Turzu come to mind, for this task. We also need to mobilise the diaspora to shout loud and clear that Israel was vindicated and Turkey was guilty.
10. Report was suppressed to manipulate Turkish elections.
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (07.07.11)
The report was ready and scheduled to be made public on the 15th of May, just 2 weeks before the elections in Turkey. The US pressured Israel into allowing the report's delay until after Erdogan's reelection. In effect the Turkish election was manipulated by the US and Israel, to win Erdogan a second term. The whole scam reeks of corruption. I am sure there are many honest Turks right now hanging their heads in shame, who would have voted differently had the report not been held suppressed.
11. damn silly
WA   (07.07.11)
The blockade was legal and it was legal to stop the flotilla in international waters. Erdogan had ties to the IHH and the IHH tried to break a legal blockade which is an illegal act . Erdogan broke the law but has the nerve to insist on an apology ( to save face with voters ) Why bother insisting on an impartial and credible judge in the first place if you intend to ignore his conclusions in pursuit of appeasing a scoundrel? This is an insult to Mr Palmer.
12. Turkey NEVER object to 2nd flotilla PROVOCATIONS
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (07.07.11)
If what Ynet says is true, Israel is truly NAIVE to believe that Turkey suddenly - out of the goodness of its fowl (foul) heart - decided to stop its own ship from joining the flotilla. The official report was supposed to be released on 15 May and each country was given a preview. That was why Turkey decided to play CHICKEN at the last minute. Note that Turkey NEVER objected to the PROVOCATIONS by the other useful idiots.
13. Tu all Turkish readers who post here
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (07.07.11)
As you can see with this report Israel has an opportunity to brag about and use as a PR opportunity against Turkey and IHH. However Israeli politicians (as much as you don't like them) , unlike their over arrogant Turkish counterparts, are still acting with a sense of responsibility and in a constructive manner to end the unnecessary friction. \You may think that with 72 Million population (vs about 7 million in Israel) and a land many many times bigger than Israel Turkey can act with this arrogance and you may be right but that arrogance does not bring peace and one day might haunt you. After all Turkey (at least the ATATURK Turkiyesi) and Israel are two countries in the region facing similar issues and need to cooperate for their MUTUAL interests. Good day to all Turkish friends. (Iyi gunler Turk dostlarima. )
14. Greece, Bulgaria, Armenia, Kurds
Ari Gold   (07.07.11)
Forget Turkey, vindicate them as much as possible. For once, the legal proceedings are on our side, i.e. "the blockade is legal." Improve ties with Greece (all Israelis should go vacation to Greece as a good will gesture for holding back the flotilla), Bulgaria, Armenia; and start a FREE KURDISTAN campaign!
15. Sure, Israel would be a sore winner by waving the report
William ,   Israel   (07.07.11)
although Israel is in its right to do so since the entire world jumped to false conclusions, some begging the Israel's guilt and crucifixion, but being a sore winner wouldn't look good. What I would do is place a copy in every embassy, every govt member's briefcase and when the world gets testy, especially Turkey, just pull it out, show it to them, and put it back....in silence. In other words....a figurative middle finger to the world.
16. STICK AND CARROT
American ,   Los Angeles   (07.07.11)
Since carrot didn't work with the turks it's time for the stick. The only way of stoping them from supporting islamo fascist jihadists.Let's get closer to Bulgaria,Greece ,Armenia.
17. Strange that we are used for floor mats,
Sammy   (07.07.11)
Considering that 1.6 billon muslims remove their shoes before entering. Of course not, Israel would not propel the Palmer report into a int'l media campaign for it's " vindication. No one else but Israel likes to be the floor mat to be trampled on by the warped media and many corrup govts. ( to the delight of the arabs ). That is the reason we are in such a deplorable state; a world 'pariah', due to an inert govt, incompetant leadership and worthless experts
18. Bull#@&%
Jon ,   Baltimore US   (07.07.11)
Israel will use this just like it does any other UN report. The PM's office will highlight all the things that show Israel in a good light and tell the world that it "exonerates Israel completely". Then the foreign ministry will point out anything in the report that even slightly criticizes Israel and tell the world that this "proves that there is an anti-Israel bias" at the UN and that the UN should be ignored, etc. And the rhetoric will continue. They are just trying to get something from Turkey for nothing, which is what their promise of not condemning Turkey is worth.
19. Thats the principle
ruby ,   new delhi   (08.20.11)
Get something for nothing. That seems to be the principle Israel rides on.
