1. "protestors hurled stones at...": non-violent protestors we
Annie   (07.09.11)
are told by those eager to demonize Israel, delegitimize it, to describe its citizens and leaders as less than humans. Shame on you for calling yourselves "leftists", 'socialists" or even "anarchists".
2. Flytilla
jeremy ,   hula valley kibbutz   (07.09.11)
Instead of doing battle with these loonies just leave them in the West Bank. They will eventually arrive at road blocks were they can be arrested, our ingrown loonies, just send them back to the PA. The others arrest deport, or drive to Gaza and let them figure out away home from there
3. STONES THROWN ?
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.09.11)
I guess that takes care of their of their lies that they are here for peaceful purposes Authorities must respond with equal if not greater vigor This proves that these Flotilla Peaceniks were sailing under false pretenses I hope they enjoy the nice warm cells they'll be confined to in the heat of summer
4. Recognize Palestine, for the sake of peace
Muayyad ,   Palestine   (07.09.11)
The Palestinian people, through the PLO, have made a very painful compromise by recognizing Israel and its defacto existance over our lands. Now for the remaining 22%, we plan to establish our sovereign and democratic state in line with Arab Spring principals. Your chance for peace and stability is now - or never. Contrary to what your pundits tell you - Jordan is not Palestine, and will never be. The troop of supporting nations will support Palestine at the UNGA and subsequently be a defacto independent nation awaiting evacuation of Israeli troops. Again, recognize Palestine for the sake of peace, LONG overdue.
5. If the Gazans would stop bombing Sderot
noa ,   israel   (07.09.11)
the occupation would end. Who wants to occupy Gaza for God's sake?
6. Protesters or rioters???
AJ - Raalte   (07.09.11)
Funny how Pals and leftists are called "protesters" by Y-net, even when they riot, and "rightwingers" are called "rioters" richt off the bat even when they only protest.
7. #4 Where you're wrong
Aharon   (07.09.11)
The "palestinian" people have not recognized the Jewish State of Israel, especially not the plo or any "palestinian" organization. Jordan is also technically as the "palestinian" state as that was part of the original British partition plan. What's the difference b/w a "palestinian" and a Jordanian? Also riddle me this, if the "palestinians" are so committed to peace, why will there never be stability if a decision isn't reached at this specific point in time? Until "palestinians" learn to be peaceful and recognize the Jewish State of Israel, there will be no peace.
8. #4 Muayyad - I will recognize Palestine
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.09.11)
Just as soon as you answer my questions that asked you to prove it ever existed You continue to duck the questions; I'll continue to duck the recognition The reality is that UNGA can’t do what you said it can do, no matter how hard you wish it to do it FYI- "The General Assembly does not have the authority to create binding law by a simple vote. It is not a global legislature, just as the UN is not a world government. Its resolutions are symbolic. Never mind the fact that the UN charter never gives the General Assembly such authority." I hope that you have finally awakened to the facts of life & reality May I suggest that you check the facts for yourself ? Besides, at Oslo, Arafat promised, in writing, to remove the clause from the PLO Charter that called for the destruction of Israel, it's still there Hamas has adamantly repeated that it will never recognize Israel, seeks its destruction and now vows to attack Jews no matter where they are, anyplace in the world
9. Peaceful protestyors hurl stones!
Spencer ,   Israel   (07.09.11)
One thing in this report disappoints me. Only three protestors were arrested. They should ALL have been arrested and thrown into gaol and those who were here as "peaceful" tourists should immediately be deported.
10. No 4
ray ,   zurich /Israel   (07.09.11)
How can you as a Palestinian say that Jordan is not Palestine OR at least not part of Palestine. As a Palestinian you should at least know your history
11. poem for muayyad
daze ,   US   (07.09.11)
Your arab spring was a big flop, arabs in the street standing around til they drop. arab honor and ethics are a consistent whatever, so if given a choice between now I bet Israel takes never
12. Muayyad
Jane   (07.09.11)
Firstly, Jordan was created on 78% of the land of 78% of British Mandate Palestine. That is why 65-70% of the population is Palestinian. Secondly, you have not recognized Israel as the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people. Thirdly, they are not now nor were they ever "your" lands. Fourthly, it is you who are approaching YOUR last chance for peace and stability. Accept us as having returned home to our ancestral homeland and stop your violence and incitement. Homes can be turned over, dead Jews will not be resurrected. As to the Arab Spring, since most of it is Islamist dominated, I don't think you telling us that your wished-for state is in line with that agenda is much encouragement for us.
13. Noa
Jane   (07.09.11)
Hello, Noa. We're out of Gaza, including the greenhouses for which naive American Jews paid millions in order to hand them over to Palestinians for the sake of "peace". Look what we got. That's why we block the border. But we do not occupy the land. Oy.
14. Protests...
Rae ,   Beersheva, Israel   (07.09.11)
Although I strongly believe in a country allowing peaceful protests of their citizens (and/or people of occupied territories who aren't allowed to vote in the said country), I don't think it's right for people from other countries to come and protest with them. MLK never had Europeans march through the streets with him and Gandhi may have had Brits, but certainly, that's because they understood that the British occupation there was wrong and that as British citizens they needed to do the right thing. So, liberal leaning Israeli citizens should protest if they feel obligated but not foreigners. If foreigners do protest, then they should, in all honesty, go protest for rights in Syria, Libya and Egypt too. Fair is fair.
15. You lost your chance
meir elazar   (07.09.11)
In the Bible in Numbers 21 Israel asks for considerations and the nations chose to attack. The result was the conquest of the nations and Israel received the promise land. Those nation chose war over peace and lost. We attempted the road of peace and harmony but were met with the massacres of 1920, 1929, and 1936. Haj Amin shared the same aspirations as Hitler. He met with Hitler and collaborated. This remained a family legacy. The Nazi had a hidden agenda of "The Final Solution" for the extermination of the Jewish people. But we survived and learned our lessons. HAMAS does not even try to hind their key objective of destroying Israel and murdering all Jews and Israelis. They are proud of this and will not compromise or accept any solution with co-existence. There are Israeli Arabs in the northern area of Israel who work with us, live with us in peace and enjoy prosperity. But for those who chose the path of war, it is too late for you. The forgone only conclusion was written 3500 years ago and will be fulfilled.
16. The Lame Flytilla
M Carr ,   Baltimore USA   (07.09.11)
I'm still trying to figure out this Flytilla thing. I recall reading that their main purpose was to disrupt Ben Gurion airport to bring awareness to the plight of the Palistinians under occupation. I think the world has been beaten over the head enough about the plight of the Pals...WE GET IT FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!! What puzzles me is the amateurish planning of this new movement. The Flytilla leaders decided to attempt to disrupt operations at the most secure air terminal on the planet to make a point that has already been made many times. It appears that they managed to slighty irritate some busy travelers, delay a few flights at various airports, get thrown off flights, get deported and get arrested. For all their trouble, a few protesters managed to sneek into Pali territory to throw rocks at cops and display pathetic little protest signs. The Flotilla movement captured my attention for many months because of the potential danger to both sides. The Flytilla movement is telling me nothing I haven't heard before and does not even rate the term provocative. At best, the Flytilla movement will prove to be no more than a minor irritant and an ineffective publicity stunt. A pretty lame follow-up to the daring Flotillas.
17. No. 4,For the sake of Peace don't recognize more Arab States
Marco ,   Spain   (07.09.11)
Another Arab State means increased instability and violence in the Middle East. Arabs already have 22 vast countries, all infested with terrorists and 5 of them are bordering Israel. Why create another failed Arab State at the expense of minute Israel, and at a stone throw away from its main population centers that will make it extremely difficult for Israel to protect itself with conventional weapons? It will create an even bigger instability in the region since Arabs will then smell blood like a pack of hyenas and would want to invade remaining Israel and massacre all Jews, because this what Arabs always do in such situations, Darfur and Southern Sudan are current examples. Israel will then have to react by nuking the Middle East to escape the slaughter and in the process the largest oil fields in the world will be destroyed. How is this good for anyone, Arabs included?
18. Flytilla
Sam M ,   Uk   (07.09.11)
Great to see the muppets who flew in to Ben Gurion airport dealt with professionally and effectively by the Israeli authorities and if a small number have managed to evade the police and make it to the west bank then no big deal. The fact is their efforts have been a big flop. In spite of their undoubtedely civilised treatment at the hands of the Israeli police they will make up the usual lies to try to demonise Israel. Locked up like criminals! Force fed coffee and danish pastries! These santimonious hypocrites they have all the charisma of a wet blanket and brains to match. Good riddance to them as far as i'm concerned.
19. Anyone noticed one interesting thing?
Mark ,   Jerusalem   (07.09.11)
Ok, several things: All those pro-Palestinians protests started nearly 2 month before September. Why now? Why not earlier or later? With sea-flotilla 2 failure, "flytilla" comes from nowhere. Questions arises as we can draw a line between facts: PA and Hamas loosing their friends. Assad too concerned with his own problems, Hezbollah have enough problems with UN tribunal. Egypt don't even have a formed government to vote or discuss something. Same with Tunis, Algeria. Yemen currently in the beginning of the very same "spring". Turkey renewing it's ties with Israel. So who is going to vote for Palestinian state? Is it connected to these "activists" who very timely, pitom, trying to focus attention on Israel. Why suddenly? My guess: Peace partners betting "all in". And since we all know they don't even have a "draw" they will fail. There won't be any state in September, no matter how desperate they will try to focus attention on Israel, not now for sure. But wast-bankers and Gazans will ask why. Guess who will they ask? And who will suffer in the end?
20. people, some perspective.....
tiki ,   belgium   (07.09.11)
80 protester = about 1.5 busses. Big deal, don't even mention them or write about them. That's what they want. Let the security forces do what they have to do without any media attention. I'm sure they know what to do with these so called "activists".
21. @#4: Sure, Jordan is Palestine
Zeroing ,   Germany   (07.09.11)
There will never be such a State, unless G-d of Israel is a mynth, and that is something that goes against the truth in the bible. The Land belongs to the children of Israel for ever, and this is the truth. The Arab lies will never materialize even with the help of Atheists in this world. The glory of Hashem shines over Israel. Israel will become even stronger and rich and her enemies will decline, both in spirit and material. Like Pharao has declined, so the modern enemy of G-d will also decline.
22. A question for the jews
Diego ,   Brazil   (07.09.11)
Salam/Shalom jews and palestinians...I have a question for jews: You want to live with peace, or without peace forever? If you don't recognize a state based in '67 lines with East Jerusalem as it capital, there won't a be a single day with peace... You want this? If yes, someday you'll leave that land by force, tired of war and rockets threatning your childs... Why not 2 state living at peace? Or a single bi-national state, where a jewish leader would be chosen by ALL jews and a palestinian leader would be chosen by all palestinians/israeli arabs? I'm not from palestine, i'm brazilian and as a palestinian descendent i know the pain that all my ascendents feel. I really hope that the solution will be the peace for the 2 nations, not war for Israel until jewish leaves the land
23. They're NOT "activists"
Reuven   (07.09.11)
They ARE terrorist supporters.
24. #22 There has never been a state by the name of "Palestine"
Dan ,   USA   (07.09.11)
in the history of this planet. Also, Palestinians are Arabs. They are indigenous to the area but so are the Jews. Peace will come when the Arab be they Palestinian, Syrian or Lebanon accept the Jewish sovereignty. You cannot make peace with those who tried countless times to wipe you out. You cannot make peace with those who want you dead. You cannot make peace with those who use agreements just as a mean to advance their objective of dislodging the Jewish sovereign state of Israel. The Arabs are obsessed with Jews. They have been obsessed with Jews since the times of Ismael and continue their violent behavior.
25. #22: You are dreaming!
Zeroing ,   Germany   (07.09.11)
Explain to us, why there was a war in 1948 and 1967, if really your people wanted to live with Jews in peace and prosperity. Your wishes are o.k. but the reality on the ground looks exactly in the opposite direction - war and displacement. You can be sure, at the end Jews are going to be victorious regardless who on earth is standing against them. There victory is the will of the creator of the universe and beyond it - the holy one of Israel. The gentiles will manipulate the truth like they wish, but at the end Jews will win and must win. The truth will prevail.
26. israel loses again there will be more in september
abdalla   (07.09.11)
27. #26 Abdallah - wrong again
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.09.11)
I just love busting your self-delusional bubble The Flotilla was scuttled, the ships never left port In September you will be proven wrong again, there will be NO declaration of a Palestinian State, by the very fact that one can't be declared by the UNGA There go your hopes and dreams, down the sewer pipe into the garbage dump "The General Assembly does not have the authority to create binding law by a simple vote. It is not a global legislature, just as the UN is not a world government. Its resolutions are symbolic. Never mind the fact that the UN charter never gives the General Assembly such authority." Feel free to join in the protests, we’ll make room for one more (you can bring your friends too) in our rather restrictive jails
28. Welcome to Palestine?
Eli ,   USA   (07.09.11)
I am glad I was not there, I would probably have been arrested if I saw a Jew with such a sign, I dont care if he was 10 feet tall and look like Schwarzenegger I would lose control and fight. Israel should have tough laws against treason, sorry it's time to deal with Left wing Liberal traitors accordingly. There comes a time when violence is necessary, sorry I have no more patience for these parasites.
29. #4 Stop talking rubbish
Phil ,   Ireland   (07.09.11)
The PLO have never officially recognised Israel. The Charter has not been changed despite assurances that it would be. You call Israel "our lands". It is not "your land". Until you accept Israel existing on "its own land", it is obvious you won't accept peace either.
30. #22 Palestinians want state, not peace
Cynthia ,   USA   (07.09.11)
Their quest for statehood offers no persuasive committment to peace. Still firing kassams at Israel, forming a unity government with Hamas now in a shambles and inviting these idiot protesters to disrupt Israel further demonstrates the Palestinians are not ready for statehood. Any examples of Palestinian leadership extending the olive branch to Israel with committments to peace? All we hear from the Palestinians is gimme this, gimme that. The Palestinians need time to demonstrate they can function independently and actually run a country. Cutting US, UN, EU, and Israel aid would force them to be more resourceful and focused on the needs of the people rather than being an irritant to Israel.
