1. Why shelved
Mordehcai ,   london   (07.11.11)
Why the hell should the complaint be shelved. They did something wrong, they should have to answer for it. If Israel did a similar move, Egypt would demand an emergency session in the UN, and a vote condemning Israel at the Security Council. It is about time Israel stood up for itself.
2. # 1
Jules   (07.11.11)
Egypt is on the brink of starvation and civil war, they will use any means to divert people's anger towards Israel.
3. The ambassador should leaves Egypt now
Ronen ,   Jerusalem   (07.11.11)
Our ambassador should leaves Egypt now and not returning until they apology for this act...
4. Food
michael Pielet ,   boca raton, Israel   (07.11.11)
Why is yediot publicizing this matter. Is in the national interest. How about exercising some responsibility.
5. Thank you Huseein Obama... 2012. BYE BYE!!!
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.11.11)
6. Would you like to see Israel detain things?
Ypip ,   Canada   (07.11.11)
little twerps.
7. #1 Mordecai
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.11.11)
If Israel makes too much of a stink, then Egypt won't ship the gas she isn't shipping, in violation of another agreement
8. Sensitivity
Sam Tayar ,   Montreal, CANADA   (07.11.11)
Israel & the turks have a sensitive relationship & yet the turkies are still asking for an apology. Maybe they too should shelve the request. You are a guiding light to the nations Israel - smarten up! Stand proud & strong. The world is listening & wanting leadership. Take the reigns. The world is collapsing.
9. Shouldn't Egypt too be concerned about "sensitive" relations
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (07.11.11)
Jerusalem, we're told, is "now considering demanding an official explanation", but "given the sensitive nature of the relations between the two countries, the move may be shelved." WTH! Shouldn't Egypt be equally concerned about the sensitive nature of the relations? Some in Egypt are clearly attempting to humiliate Israel, to show her who's top dog in this relation. They're pushing the boundary of acceptable behavior, just daring Israel to respond. Israel MUST respond.
10. Good job Egypt! Who knows whats in those trucks?
christianpalestinian ,   hong kong   (07.11.11)
Egypt has the right to check anything and everything coming into Egypt without the approval of anyone!
11. To avoid future incidents:shut down the embassy&prepare for
tom ,   tel aviv   (07.11.11)
war! It's as plain as it gets.
12. Very funny talkbacks
Li ,   USA   (07.11.11)
Jokers fantasizing that "Egypt needs Israel" or that since Egyptians are verging on starvation they must be scapegoating Israelis, even some silly fool suggesting the Israeli ambassador leave until he receives an apology. Reading these talkbacks, it is easy to see how Israel got into the supremely dangerous position it is in, and also easy to see how everyone is so absorbed in self interest that they ignore the greater situation. It's like an episode of the Twilight Zone.
13. even our relation with god is sensitive
shalom   (07.11.11)
Another complaint to be shelved?. No wonder we can be trampled all over the world, we make superb floor mats.Every infraction to our dignity, to our self esteem, to our diplomatic status, etc. is shelved, due to our delicate sensitivity. We have sensitive relations with 195 countries around the world, the UN, the Palmer conclusion, Erdogan, the Human rights, Freedom of speech, our haredim. Why the hell do we need" ambassades ", ambassadors, diplomats,. Let's transform our " ambassades " into night clubs and show the world that we are a fun loving people and they should join us.Let's face it, stupid shabbat phones are our 'forte'. We are very good at it. We only spent a few millions for the 3 dz units.
14. It is so obvious why
Chaya ,   Tel Aviv   (07.11.11)
This has to do with the Gaza Flotilla - with Israel demanding that all shipments destined for Gaza be inspected. The Egyptians are giving Israel back their 'own medicine.' I don't agree with this; but this is the Egyptian's rationale.
15. #14 Muhamad from Cairo
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (07.11.11)
Hamas declared war on Israel and calls for extermination of every Jew. Israel owes them nothing and the Egyptians know it. The only "blockade" of Gaza is the Egyptian blockade in Rafiah. The Egyptians could allow the free flow of people and goods into and out of Egypt but refuse to do it. Apparently, Abbas asked for the blockade to pressure Hamas.
16. It's called......
tiki ,   belgium   (07.11.11)
"Looking for an argument to get out of a deal". It's as simple as that with the 'Muslimbrothers taking over Egypt.
17. Keep shelving.... lol
(07.11.11)
18. Diplomatic car searched
Spencer ,   Israel   (07.11.11)
There's an easy way to avoid a repetition of this. Close the Israeli Embassy in Egypt.
19. the Arab Spring does it again
zionist forever   (07.11.11)
Muslim Brotherhood are going to be major players in Egyptian politics. Both secular and islamist candidates for the parliament and presidency are all saying Camp David should be renegotiated or torn up alltogether. We have had three gas pipeline explosions and between them there were problems with the gas flow anyway because of Egyptian politics. Now even diplomatic cars are being searched and stripped of their cargp. The Arab Spring has been nothing but trouble.
20. #10 Christian- Ain't no such thing as
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.11.11)
Palestinian, since there ain't a Palestine, never has been and wont' be..How come you're in Hong Kong ? Those trucks had Diplomatic Immunity, if Israel wanted to deliver something harmful, they would have delviered it by air or artillery or rockets
21. #12 - step back for a moment...
William ,   Israel   (07.11.11)
from reading our talkbacks and read some reports by analysts on the situation (from around the world). All have agreed Egypt is using Israel as a scapegoat right now in order to keep the military in power in Egypt, the exact opposite of what protesters there wanted. It's the Pakistan situation all over again. Now a latest report that the famed Arab Spring is really causing widespread hunger, imploding economies, and a real lack of security. Talkbackers here didn't make this up, they just referred to it, which makes them more worldly and current than you, based on your talkback. In a weird twist, you've actually left your Twilight Zone to see reality, and believe it is others who are in the Twilight Zone.
22. #14 - so Flotilla aid was on diplomatic mission?
William ,   Israel   (07.11.11)
The flotilla organizers stated they were not helping Hamas but rather the people of Gaza directly (who don't need any help). If the flotilla should be covered by diplomatic immunity (based on your weak analogy with food shipment to Israel's embassy), then that would make them criminals for aiding and abetting a known terrorist group. And unlike Hamas and Israel, Egypt and Israel are not at war so there is no need to inspect cargo as such. If this is an Egyptian rationale, then perhaps Israel can up the ante and pay a little visit to Egypt's embassy in Israel.
23. #10 christianpalestinian
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.11.11)
You, one of those who automatically yell "against international law" when it isn't or when there is no international law at all dealing with the subject, now insist that "Egypt has the right to check anything and everything coming into Egypt without the approval of anyone" even though this IS against international law describing diplomatic immunity... Thank you for showing your true, totally-biased, blind-to-the-truth, colors. It was always obvious but this is confirmation (as if any was needed).
24. To: No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.12.11)
Not anything covered by diplomatic immunity or under diplomatic seal.
