1. Livni and Kadima: The disgrace continues.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.13.11)
It would be unthinkable, in any other democracy, for the main opposition party to support boycotts against their own nation. Yet that is exactly the disgusting stance of Livni and Kadima. Livni and Kadima should never be allowed to pose as a centrist party. They are as far left as Labor and Meretz. Livni and Kadima should have no place in Israeli leadership at any level. They are a disgrace and should be voted off the political map of Israel.
2. Hopefully Kadima will stay in opposition
Rachel ,   US   (07.13.11)
Livni proves her disqualification to lead Israel more each day.
3. Democracy at its worst!
Yafa ,   Palestine   (07.13.11)
Bibi go and learn the basic principles of democracy. Settlements are ILLEGAL.
4. Netanyahu, you can go back like a good boy and...
(07.13.11)
Disapprove the Boycott Law...
5. legalized harrassment
avramele   (07.13.11)
The boycott law is legalizes harrassment where gangs of settlers can drag those who oppose the occupation into court on whim and conjecture and turns politics into civil litigation. It furthers blurrs any and all distinctions between what is Israel and what is not -- a question you would think the citizens of any normal country would want answered. Tel Aviv is not Hebron and hebron may be our ancestoral homeland but it is not Israel. If Bibi thinks otherwise let him and the right have the courage to say so and suffer the consequences of such an destructive and foolish act.
6. #3 Yafa
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.13.11)
Yes , we see the democracy in the Arab countries, blood flowing in the streets daily. And of course settlements are illegal. The Arabs have more than enough land and they have too many countries. Time for the greedy Arabs to stop trying to steal Jewish land and end their illegal settlements in Israel.
7. Israel is a suburb of the settlements
Simon ,   Modiin   (07.13.11)
It's a scary situation to watch the settlers pull the strings in this current government. With the leadership we have today, they are only going to encourage further boycots of Israel and cause more harm than good.
8. rich and powerful jewish elites
sweeter than honey ,   far away   (07.13.11)
are at the forefront of boycotts and such like. (and actually many of them really do work for the BBC). but when it comes to ordinary working class jewish workers in the diaspora they are dismissed as being "not like us", well certainly poorer. less advantaged. less well connected, less glittering, and probably racist and homophobic. this massively contributes to western left wings loosing elections, utterly lost touch with the working class. indeed for respected haaretz(?), a jewish working class doesn't exist. so there's nothing to represent. which is why they so glitteringly and facilely boycott. this law about time. i don't know if it is an injustice, but even if it is, those of us who have suffered injustice from the very souls who tout justice for the pals etc., could not care less now.
9. Livni the opportunist
yoni ,   tel aviv   (07.13.11)
Anyone who votes for her in the next elections should just know that she is merely an opportunistic politician looking over her shoulder to do whatever will give her more power with no ideology or vision AT ALL
10. Peace Now opposes Boycott Bill - strange - funded by UK
Eliezer ,   Jerusalem   (07.13.11)
Peace Now has gone to Bagatz over the bill, but they receive direct funding from the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office - the UK Foreign Office. So in effect the UK goverment is interfering in Israeli affairs using the Peace Now proxy
11. Re: avramele
Gábor Fränkl   (07.13.11)
That's only what you think. 3 million law-abiding loyal patriotic Israelis disagree.
12. A loathsome little law.
PaulHT ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.13.11)
13. Boycott Israel
james ,   uk   (07.13.11)
In Europe there is lots of boycotting of Israel products, most recently books in scotland. But Israel citizens (jews) boycotting their own state is a real surprise to most of us non jews. The world is up side down
14. As for EU and US "concerns"about Israel's Boycott Law,...
Keren ,   IL-BR   (07.14.11)
...who really cares? The few US dollars I have are starting to quickly rot,for my sadness,as so are those euros... These nations are rotting-just read the news papers. Who really cares about them and their pretentious belches?
15. EU, stay out of Israel's internal affairs
Martin ,   New York   (07.14.11)
Since when is the EU entitled to criticize a sovereign state's own internal politics?? Absolute gall on the part of a holier-than-thou Catherine Ashton, whose business is FOREIGN RELATIONS..She should be told to mind her own business--Israel hasn't told Britain to dismantle the mionarchy or the Established Church as far as I know...
16. US does not dare to criticize Israel
Jon ,   Baltimore US   (07.14.11)
AIPAC and US media have tied the hands of the US government. After their last Washington conference AIPAC warned President Obama that he cannot treat Israel the way he has in the past. The threats have obviously worked.
17. to nr. 15.
justice for all ,   world/planet earth   (07.14.11)
and zionists stay out of (internal) affairs of the palestinian people. it/the conflict is already going on since the 19th. century, since the first alyah, in a one-sided, unilateral way. the palestinians do not need zionist meddling/interference. perhaps good advice and mediation of the un with mutual respect, understanding and in objectivity. in principle it is up to any independant and sovereign country/people to solve its own affairs without foreign pressure, meddling, occupation, oppression, agression and subjection, unless that country/people is/are a threat/danger to worldpeace, humanity, to another country/people or to the entire mankind. you, nr.15 also want to be the boss of/in your own house, without meddling from others. so do i too. everybody who does not agree with it and who wants to play the boss in my house must leave it. no matter who. everybody has the right to be the boss in/of her/his own house and property (by law).
18. and u did great mr. netanyahu :)
Ester   (07.14.11)
19. i dont get why Zoabi is in our knesset!
Ester   (07.14.11)
20. To James, uk
Gábor Fränkl   (07.14.11)
James, please do NOT be surprised. They have no less of a collective death wish (for Israel) than their overseas counterparts and compadres often most of all in Britain, who desperately hate their own country/nation too IF it interfers with its self-accelerated destruction. Do not take them seriously please. The fight against the traitors intra portas will and must continue. You presumably despise and look down upon your own sycophants, perverts, traitors and oobscurantists and "university/academic" cranks and crackpots, here in Israel represented by extremist NGOs who petitioned the HCJ. So why would Israel be any different?
21. #3, 5. Rubbish. Jordanians are squatting on Israeli land.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (07.14.11)
They need to go back to their king. There never was any Palestinian people. They were and are Jordanian citizens and immigrants from other Arab countries.
22. Good job Bibi, for calling Zoabi out!
John ,   Alaska   (07.14.11)
And for being bold enough to endorse legislation to protect Israel from the economic warfare of her enemies!
23. To #3 Yafa re your location
John ,   Alaska   (07.14.11)
In 1937, the Arab leader Auni Bey Abdul Hadi told the Peel Commission: "There is no such country as Palestine. Palestine is a term the Zionists invented. Palestine is alien to us." In 1946, Princeton's Arab professor of Middle East history, Philip Hitti, told the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry: "It's common knowledge, there is no such thing as Palestine in history." These are Arab leaders who said this. What is your response to them?
24. #13 Why a surprise?
Andi ,   Israel   (07.14.11)
Israel is a democracy with freedom of speech? The problem is this Law, which many on Israel also oppose as restricting freedom of political activity, although not freedom of speech. The law addresses situations where Israeli Leftist university lecturers call for a boycott of their own university, whilst expecting a salary from that univeristy which the lecturere is trying to harm, I don't think this law is the solution though.
25. 22-This is the way he works, and it tends to work.
Ypip ,   Canada   (07.14.11)
That is his job: to solidify the supreme court. Not to be grand-standing the Knesset.
