If I forget thee oh Jerusalem. City of The Great King .In Canada we have no idea what you are going through living with constant threat of bombardment My Christian roots are in your Jewish heritage. If Gasa poses a threat, Just take it back, and let the WORLD yip and kiyi but who cares enough is enough. BTW long live Bibi.

This is disrupting the terrorists' logistics. Strategic bombing can be a vital part of a war plan. The IDF obviously understands the necessity of actually removing the terrorists themselves. We do not and will not have pleasure in the death of the wicked. We do rejoice every time there are fewer terrorists there to try to kill Jews. And we look forward to the time when terrorist Hamas is reduced to glowing cinders.

David ,   USA   (07.15.11)
You will quickly see how they will stop firing missiles at Israel. This is not acceptable to anyone in the world. Anywhere else they would be carpet bombed out of existence. Israel is playing pussycat with these evil Barbarians & their Iranian bosses. Send them real "punishing" blows so they won't even dream of lifting a finger next time!

Dear Sirs Following the very full coverage of the ‘Flotilla’ and ‘Flytilla’ stories I wonder why the BBC has now neglected to cover yesterdays very serious indiscriminate rocket attacks into Israel yesterday from Gaza after a period of relative calm Latest news indicates 6 Qassams were fired into Israel in ONE DAY Thursday 14th July ALONE. Why is this not reported? Does the BBC realise that though no injuries may have been reported – the tensions, stresses and pain the alarms, the sirens causes on the Israeli public in the area and in particular to the children and elderly? We have a right to know

The IAF and the IDF have web pages. You might want to look there, except I suspect that Wikipedia took its information from there, so your information is propably fairly reliable. It's important to keep in mind, however, that if Israel openly showcases parts of its arsenal, it's a safe bet that there are certain elements of its arsenal that have superseded what it is revealing. It is well known that if Israel offers up for sale certain materiel -- which countries do jump at because it is top-of-the-line -- it is only because those items are already obsolete in Israel's arsenal. But you need to understand that Israel, fully mobilized, is still a smaller troop force than many countries' standing armies. We've always known that, so our approach has always been quality, not quantity. The quality of the IDF, and the quality of its weaponry, therefore, has been deliberately designed to negate quantity. The world got a little taste of that in 1967. There is much, much more that the world does not yet know about. I hope we never have to find out. But I stand by my original ten or fifteen minutes. It wouldn't take long, and it would absolutely astound.

Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (07.15.11)
They bomb us, we bomb them. And so on, forever till the end of time. So what if IDF bombed their tunnels - it is not cancelling the bombs that they are sending to Israel. Me thinks that the IDF needs to check its strategies. Please, stop pussyfooting around.
40. #36 forgets JP? 5 civilians wounded, two of them children

IAF is the only air force in the world which could have read the terror labels on those terror objects.

Many things I am - but Im not a mind reader so cant make out what JP stands for. I guess the 5 civilans 2 of them children you are referring to are Palestinians. What frustrates me about your comment is your perception that I am unfeeling of Palestinian suffering. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ME or the huge efforts that I put in to foster better Israel Palestine and Israel Arab understanding. And what may I ask do YOU actually do? Of course I am so sorry about any hurt caused ...but these are slef defensive retaliatory strikes by Israel in response to barbaric indiscriminate and unprovoked rocket attacks which constitute acts of war So observer...clean you specs, get an eye test so you can see the world a bit better

Three of the five Fogel family members were children. Including a three-month old baby. Their throats were slit. So five wounded civilians, two of them children, just doesn't tweak my heart strings.

Thanks Ariel Sharon for turning Gaza from a decent area into a launching pad for murder. It is time for Israel to stop retreating and start advancing. Palestinians---GET OUT.

So the hundreds of murdered Palesitinian children from IDF airstrikes and other attacks mean nothing to you? Is 3 Israeli children worth hundreds of Palestinian children? You are a very, very disturbed person. Rockets fired into Israel didn't harm a single soul. The retaliation air striked injured 5 civilians, including 2 children.
50. No proof Hamas did it...
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (07.15.11)
There's no proof Hamas launched these rockets, and you all seem to forget Al Qaida is also in Palestine. But don't even consider that. It's either Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.
51. Recent rockets
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (07.15.11)
Ever notice how these are always fired in open spaces and no Israeli gets harmed. Makes me think this has something to do with the UN vote in September.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.15.11)
It is not the fault of Israel that Hamas uses human shields. It is not the fault of Israel that Hamas stores weapons in hospitals, schools and mosques. Here's a news flash: caching weapons in schools, hospitals and mosques turns those schools, hospitals and mosques into legitimate military targets. During Cast Lead, Israel leafletted and even made telephone calls warning residents that a particular area was going to be bombed. It is not the fault of Israel that Hamas PREVENTED civilians from evacuating from those areas. The law, by the way, looks to intent, not efficacy. For example, if you were to point a loaded gun at someone, and deliberately pull the trigger and the gun jams and does not fire -- here's another news flash: you're still going to prison for about twenty-five years. It doesn't matter whether the missiles fired from Gaza fall in an empty field or not -- the criminal act; the act which Israel takes into account; the act which international law takes into account is the act of FIRING the missile in the first place, not where it lands. Moreover, the people of Sderot and environs suffer from extreme stress and trauma. People have died from heart failure and even shock. So for you to suggest that missiles fired into Israel "didn't harm a single soul" is both callous and wrong. The late Golda Meir, z"l, summed it up rather well -- peace will come when the ersatz "Palestinians" learn to love their children more than they hate us. It hasn't come about and likely never will -- but that is not the fault of Israel, either.
