You must know that Israel, in spite of saying that they want a two state solution, really has no interest in there ever being a viable and contiguous Palestinian state. Were this otherwise Israel would not have been building settlements, all illegal under international law, and bi pass roads. Israel and Aznar call for "negotiations" but how does one party negotiate while the other party takes the land over which the parties are "negotiating." Furthermore Israel has demanded that the Palestinians bring no pre-conditions to the table while at the same time they impose their own pre-conditions: no division of Jerusalem, Israel retains all large illegal settlement blocs, Israel keeps an indefinite IDF occupation of the Jordan Valley, no return of Palestinian refugees, the Palestinian state must be de-militaryized (all the better to attack it without fear of reprisal.
