31. It's thanks to these Shabbat protests
Dov   (07.16.11)
that we have religious neighborhoods in Yerushalayim.
32. Deport them to Tehran where they belong
Haim ,   Tel Aviv   (07.17.11)
Im sure they will fit in nicely there.
33. They Could All Move to Monsey, New York
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSA   (07.17.11)
Oh we Jews, our greatest enemiy. The Arabs are typically laughing at us. seeing the clowns demonstrating. Seems that protests are the way to get around laws, and do one's thing in Israel. Out of respect for the religious (in Jsrusalem) and elsewhere, there should be understandings between all involved. But its the ordinances that govern..voted by the people. If the ultra dont like Israeli laws, then they can either change them peacefully or move out of Israel, like to Rockland County, NY (Monsey). But they will only assume other problems AND conflicting voices there. Perhaps they should leave well enough alone.
34. Enemies of Israel
leo ,   nyc   (07.17.11)
So-called" religious" young men engaging in violence on the Sabbath are nothing more than thugs---and Judaism is being disgraced by their actions...
35. To #23: Charles
Zvika ,   Jerusalem   (07.17.11)
Just wondering if you feel the same about a million Israeli Arabs too? Or the thousands of Jewish Israeli (secular) youngsters who pay off psychiatrists to write up phoney reports to get them out of IDF service?
36. I remember staying at the Tower Hotel near Zion Sq. and at 1
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.17.11)
or 2 in the morning when the bars closed, the noise from the car horns leaving the bars was deafening. How nice it would have been to have all the roads closed for Shabbos.
37. 5
zionist forever   (07.17.11)
I don't agree with what they are doing but in a liberal democracy allows everybody to demonstrate. Also being ultra orthodox and wanting observance of Shabbat doesn't make them comperable to the Taliban.
38. #2You can't expect haredim to serve in morally corrupt army
(07.17.11)
could you?
39. #7 Ben Jaba - there you go again...
Rafi ,   US   (07.17.11)
...can't help that sewer mouth of yours and its continual references to body parts and their functions. I guess it's not surprising that Ynet allows your foul language on the page (they probably don't understand half of the messages). As you are apparently unable to effectively discuss the facts of the news matter at hand... you typically attack the writer (in this case whether or not the guy served in the IDF) or resort to foul language. Who knows if you served? You could say or write anything. That's why it's better to just address the news item pal.
40. I am Dati Leumi
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.17.11)
some the posts herem from the secular, should try and be respectful. you demand respect from us but give nothing back. I find that typical secular behavior. While I do not love the Haredi, for they do not respect me, I will try to nderstand why they are angry.... do not shove your secular behaviour down thier throaghts and drive in their neighbourhoods on the Shabbos
41. 31 , dov , who needs religious neighborhoods ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.17.11)
42. 35 , Zvika
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.17.11)
Arabs , even if they support the State of Israel , can NEVER be Jewish . Thousands of phoney reports ? Give your stats please , i want to see exact numbers .
43. Charles - you are disgusting....
Andy ,   Washington, DC   (07.17.11)
when you use the word "they," referring to our own people. I am an observant Jew and I think all roads and all parking lots should be open - so people can decide for themselves. But don't call people you disagree with "disgusting." I think that makes you disgusting.
44. #10 You can learn from #37
Leon ,   Ottawa, Canada   (07.17.11)
While I don't agree with his or her point of view, he or she did not have to resort to childish name calling to make their point. Zionist forever, I respect the fact that you disagreed with my point of view as an adult.
45. David , 40 . It's SHABBAT
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.17.11)
Shabbos is for galut "jews"
46. #36 Bunnie spare us your lectures
Avi ,   Israel not LA LA   (07.17.11)
So sorry to hear your sleep was disurbed while staying at the Tower hotel. Those nasty secular Israelis, you know the ones that work , pay taxes serve in the army, expressing their democratic right to to freedom from other peoples religion, apparently some of them even made aliah, Spare us your lectures from the lobby of the Tower hotel on how to run our lives. Either make aliah or shut up !
47. Charles #40
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.17.11)
What?
48. It is Shabbos. A Jewish state.
Kayla ,   Florida   (07.17.11)
Shabbos must not be desecrated. PERIOD. Remember WHO gave us Israel and act accordingly.
49. No Harideem act violent forcing their life style on others
Haim ,   TA   (07.17.11)
Seems violence is the language these people understand, well i hope our security forces will meet their threats of violence with full force, get out those rubber bullets and tear gas !
50. Kayla , Florida
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.17.11)
It were the 6000 , mostly seculars , if not anti religious , who gave their blood for our country , not a "divine intervention"
51. Baseless hatred vs. desecration of shabbat
Yael ,   Jerusalem   (07.17.11)
As we enter the morning period of the three weeks, i think we should rather be focusing on ending baseless hatred amongst our people. Desecration of Shabbat is a terrible thing, but that is not what destroyed the temple. IT was baseless hatred. No person will strengthen his will to keep and enjoy the beauty of shabbat through having garbage and stones thrown at him. He will however, if he is invited into ones home out of extended hand of friendship and allowed to witness the beauty and sense of peace that G-d has given us through keeping shabbat. I think this shuld rather be the focus, particularly during this time in the Jewish calander.
52. Andy , Have you seen some of their faces ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.17.11)
Nice for you ? and their "behaviour" also nice ? I don't accept such people as belonging to MY people , they are'nt worth it .
53. Jerusalem is the only Jewish holy..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (07.17.11)
city in the world. The secular people could be more openminded towards orthodoxe Jews and allow them to have in their environnement a real Shabbath without the disturbance of cars. This said ,i am against riots. Can t we talk like civilised people? Is that to much to ask?
54. Taliban is here!
Jew1 ,   Ashdod   (07.17.11)
It all started very sweetly. Let us pray..we will pray whole day to have mercy and success for our land of Israel. Then they stop working, and with our duddle doo economy we have to support them and their bunch of kids who will have another bunch of kids who will not work, then they do not want to serve in army, they do not believe in independence day or memorial day. Whole Israel stands on siren and they walk like nothing happened. Then they don't want any secular buying house in their society areas, otherwise they are throwing rocks and throwing lit petrol bottles in their houses, then they started having trouble in their own community (Sephardic / Ashkenazi etc. just like shia/sunni) to treat everyone equal, they they are bringing their discrimination in schools (eg. Emanual), then they say that they don't recognize law of the state of Israel - they recognize law of tora, then they oppose all those who wants to work on Saturday and do strike/riots in front of those companies burning tyres, breaking cars and street lights. Then a women can not marry or divorce in civilized way without their permission. Then they separate buses and road for men and women. Women does not get any higher posts as only men are allowed, then they want to bring a law for a man to be allowed to marry more than one women...What's happening?? Hey don't worry this just a jewish version of Taliban in only democratic country in Middle east.
55. Please read #21
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (07.17.11)
This is what these rioters are doing to themselves, to Israeli's and to Israel. They are proving to our detractors, that we are violent zealots and fanatics. They are providing to our enemies, valuable tools to be used against us in media and politics. I more than support the right of free speech and protest. But this constant violence must stop! These people are hurting the rest of us, our country and our religion. Lastly, it is past time, that our more moderate leaders (secular and religious), take a stand to stop this violence.
56. 51 Yael That s so true...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (07.17.11)
57. Ora , 53
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.17.11)
I remember people who bought houses nearby an airport , and then were protesting against the noise . When you buy a house in a street with much traffic , i know Neviim street , don't expect to have a quiet place . Where i lived , some were also shouting "shabbes" at me , and there ity was not a "holy" city . But why have we , the seculars , to be more openminded as those rioters ? Here , in Petach Tikva , a part of a central street is closed on Shabbat . The Great Synagogue is situated there , and there is not much traffic on Shabbat . I did'nt hear of any opposition to this situation , because it's a reasonnable fact . PS . You told me you miss me , Wi a loch im kop ? LOL .
58. 54 Jew1 Exactly the same happens..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (07.17.11)
in the secular society, but in the opposite direction.Let s focus on the nice people in both societies and get forwards.
59. Ora , 58 . Exactly the same happens
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.17.11)
in the secular society ? Please stay serious . Do we have so much children ? do we riot in this way ? We work ! we do not receive State money for "studying" not contributing material , We respect State law [ most of us ] , etc etc . The day before last Yom Haatsma'ut , i had to be in bne brak . No Israeli flag ! No one ! Sad .
60. Wrong heading , they don't fifht for Shabbat
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.17.11)
