1. SO MUCH FOR THE "ARAB SPRING"
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (07.17.11)
I'm sure all the countries involved in the "Arab Spring" can look forward to this sort of treatment in the future. Enjoy your new found freedom. It's kinda funny in way, they marched for more freedom, whined about the Westernized leaders, all for what? People get the governmet they deserve. So now they have what exactly?
2. Are those women, or just good old fashioned ghouls?
Just Asking   (07.17.11)
3. doesn't this already happen in gaza?
(07.17.11)

noa ,   israel   (07.17.11)
5. Sad life of these women to live in a horror society.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (07.17.11)
Modesty is not a bloody horror to be imposed, but something that should naturaly happen. It is not beautifull to have everything exposed and walk in the streets as baits.Either men and women. But ,G-d forbid, living in a society driven by evil men who do of what should be a culturally beautiful and decent thing,an horror.
6. Mark, Iranians are not Arabs they are Persians
Ali ,   Scot'   (07.17.11)

9. #6 Ali Scot
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.17.11)
Arab or Persian, no matter, women are still treated like crap in the Muslim society My dog has more rights than your women have
10. #6;Ali, SAVE IT, JUST DISTRACTION
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (07.17.11)
Yes I know, But the term "Arab Spring" was used referring to the Arab countries where the protests are taking place. Not the Iranians, I just said what Iran was doing will soon be happening in those countries (i.e. Hamas in Gaza). So save the minutiae it is irrelevant to my point. Nowhere in the post does it refer to Iranians as Arabs.
11. It's religious fanaticism in violation of their beliefs
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.17.11)
According to the Koran, there is not suppose to be any compulsion in the Islamic religion. "Truth stands out clear from error," so it says. Well, maybe truth is not so clear.
12. Wow what a spiritual country! It's almost as though...
they are falling ,   headlong into a hole   (07.17.11)
God is using them as a light to the world!. LOL What a bunch of hypocrites. No better now than when their leaders thought they were actual gods. (Cyrus ect.) but hey the REAL GOD took care of that kook just like he will take out modern iran. Like fish on a hook they come... and we know their end. Fear not them who can kill the body, but fear Him has the power after you are dead, has the power to cast you into hell.
13. Apartheid
Jorge ,   Israel/USA/Argentina   (07.18.11)

Yes, this could happen in the UK, France Holand or any Muslam country in Europe. Good bye Europe! we shell remember you!

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.18.11)
... is a violation of Iranian law? Wow.
21. No morality police...
Persian CAT   (07.18.11)
Fascism police is a better description. The fact is after more than thirty years of shoving their despotic beliefs down the throats of the Iranian people, these thugs have not been able to "tame" the Iranian people one bit.
22. #1 Mark - Iran (Persia) is not an Arab country!
Sons Of Cyrus   (07.18.11)
Mark, FYI: Iran is not an Arab country. Before the Arab invasion in the 7th century the official religion was Zoroastrian. They Persians built a world empire based on Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds, with respect and tolerance for other peoples and took pride in the diversity of their empire. The founder of the first empire was Cyrus The Great, who freed the Jewish people from Babylon and helped them to rebuild their temple and declared the first historical document on human rights. These people who are currently in power are the descendants of the Arab invaders of the 7th century under the then Calif Omar. They constitue about 5% of the population. The people of Persia would love to get rid of these people from power and overthrow the current barbaric regime.

25. Sorry to spoil your day but...........
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (07.18.11)
..fast forward about 40-50 years here in Israel and you will see the SAME THING HERE. When the haredim take control as they inevitably will because they are so numerous they will do exactly what they want. Life for normal secular "modern" people will be HELL.
26. 25 is damn right
Erez ,   Haifa   (07.18.11)
I don’t know you sir but I 100% agree on that, We can see early sparks in these days. The trouble is that we, ourselves are sponsoring them penny by penny we helping them building their empire and letting them reigning us.

Katharine ,   Nebraska USA   (07.19.11)
Sorry, but we could really use some morality policing around here. If I see one more girl's cheeks peeking out of her shorts or cleavage spilling out of her shirt... "modern, secular" people have no sense of decency.
29. #28 you got that right
(07.19.11)
personally, i am sick to death of seeing this crap also especailly on very obese people. and the very young also. there used to be a dress code for those in the 1960's to go to public school, girls couldnt wear pants, that changed but it went haywire now. it is in the news, professionals on fox news in the AM show lots'o skin on tv and boobs, whatever happened to being alittle more professional looking in the workforce and showing some sense, okay it dont have to be the opposite like in iran but there is somethnig to be said for dressing appropriately not like going to the beach every single day
30. Misprint
Marc Bereza ,   Ottawa Canada   (07.19.11)
Iranian women can be fined for wearing nail polish and sandals. The article states that they can be fined for wearing these items.
