31. #7 Moshe: And who says these allegations are true?
David ,   Israel   (07.22.11)
The foreign press have a great history of maligning Israel. In the Second Lebanon War Reuters published manipulated photos and later, after the damage to Israel was done, admitted the truth! The foreign press were invited to watch the unpacking of the weapons sent by Iran to Gaza on the "Victoria". Yes, they showed up and then walked off. One a number of occasions some reporters have privately stated that pro-Israel news is not "newsworthy". A good example was the murder of the the Vogel family which was almost totally ignored by the foreign media. As for shooting ourselves in the foot, well Ben Wedeman of CNN once took one in the butt!
32. Checks at the PM's office.
Correspondent   (07.22.11)
It is totally irrelevant that some of your talkbacks write that many of the correspondents from abroad are not well disposed towards Israel. It is true, but not relevant to this matter. From my own experience the time required to come to an event that the PM is part of is far too long. Also the checks in some cases are a matter over overkill. I personally have not attended a Netanyahu press event in the past eighteen months because of this. My time is valuable and I do not have the time of day to wait and hang around. My newspapers around the world are not the losers, the government is. The news is available anyway, without reporters and photographers having to be treated in such a disgusting manner. Checks have to be made, but there are intelligent ways to do it. As for the bias of many foreign correspondents in Israel, this is another story.
33. Journalists?
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (07.22.11)
When these guys go to Gaza, west bank etc they are told where to go and what to write - and that's ok. But if they have to have a security check they wont cover something of major news. What exactly is their job?
34. Wimps
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (07.22.11)
look at what every American citizen goes through at an airport. These wimps usually treat Israel as an errant child. Maybe it's time to get a new batch of 'reporters'? Ones that don't mind disrobing, like many of us do in airport security lines, all thanks to the terrorists who seem to have been taken over by 'reporters.'
35. "Reporters" are less popular than used car salesmen
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (07.22.11)
anyone can carry a press card, even terrorists. These 'reporters' should be stripped naked, but in private and filmed, then, if they act naughty, release their pictures to the 'press'.
36. PMO's office and the Foreign Press
Joe Charlaff ,   Jerusalem   (07.22.11)
I think that until a statement from the Prime Minister's Office is forthcoming to prevent this from happening, members of the FPA should desist from attending any events there. The searches of female journalists in the manner described is both humiliating and unnecessary and bad for Israel's image.
37. Typical response
Boxer ,   USA   (07.22.11)
Its always the others who are wrong! If it is not in Israel's favour or advantage, the writer / speaker is antisemitic. When will Isrealis get that chip off their shoulder and grow up? Accept that you are human - not incorrigible or faultless. The rest of the world of humans accept this without debate but continuously try to improve.
38. #2 Oh no!!
Moragh   (07.22.11)
It affects you too so badly? well let's lie down and simply die together. I couldn't bear to go on any longer without reading what the AP, reuters and their cliques have to say. Oh, Mama mia!
39. #7 Moshe Cryan
Moragh   (07.22.11)
Better that than having to read the lies like these so-called reporters write. Time for Moshe to get his act together!
40. the truth always hurt, particularly when you hang.
pierrot   (07.22.11)
Shouldn't we also add that we the Israelis, in conjunction with our govt, are getting fed-up as well wth the crappy way you print news on our land. If you printed only half of what you print here in arab's countries, you'll be hanging by the balls the very next day.
41. Don't change a thing. Don't be decieved.
pasquinel ,   london.canada   (07.22.11)
If press can throw shoes, make them go in barefoot.Any way the press will comply because they hunger for dirt. Not too many report news but rather create it. This is why I love reading articles from differing news sites so I can form my own opinion and not get bombarded a article that irks me ie could care less what Hollywood lowlifes do. Stick to your guns Bibi, not that I have to tell you not to trust the foreign press.
42. Sounds like a WIN, WIN
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (07.22.11)
So the media quits even making the sleightest attempt at impartiality, and does a Jason Blair, of NYT infame; sitting in a closet sipping cheap booze, and making quotes, the experts who allegedly made the statements from which the false quotes were made, and the situations that caused the non real individuals, to make non statements to the person whose means of employment is reportage of non stories. They lie and everyone knows it. By not attending the PM's breifings they have removed any reason for even the most believing to pay any attention. Sounds like a WIN WIN for the PM and Israel.
43. Correspondent #32
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.22.11)
You time is valuable, the life of our Prime Minister isn't? I am truly sorry that you feel you are so important and the rest of us are just so much chopped liver. You want to ignore the fact that Bibi doesn't control security checks anymore than Odumba controls the Secret Service.
44. To #12
m   (07.22.11)
Dovid, or Daud?
45. #43
Correspondent   (07.23.11)
This is not what I wrote. I didn't write or intimate that our PM's time is not valuable. Neither did I say that I felt important. Nor did I say that other people time is less important than mine. Only you say it. All I said that because of the excessive time used to process press visits to the PM's office, I decided that I can utilse my own time more efficiently by not waiting for several hours to question the PM. There is no doubt that detailed checks have to be made to protect the PM. I agree with this. What I don't agree with is the method. I imagine that you have never had to go through a security check to interview the PM, so you cannot know what its like, or how long it takes. Also I have no idea what you mean by feeling that you are a bit of chopped liver! If you see an item in a supermarket at a certain price, you can decide to buy it, or not buy it. I decided that as an experienced journalist in a free society I will not go through the bureaucracy needed to attend a PM press event - that is all.
46. Security at times over does it RIGHT ???
M.S. ,   mpls america   (07.24.11)
