1. I spent the day...
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (07.23.11)
at the pool with a few beers. I earn slightly more than minimum monthly salary, for about 5 hours per day currently. Good pay per hour, but sadly business is scarce right now. In my opinion, if you choose to live in the merkaz, you need your head examined.
2. "dairy farmers ... slamming dairy product prices"???
Geezee ,   Bayside, USA   (07.23.11)
3. Is Habima square going to be Israel's Tahrir?
Jonathan ,   Vancouver   (07.23.11)
4. To build housing one needs first of all territory.
Geezee ,   Bayside, USA   (07.23.11)
The irony is many of these protesters are lefties who are ready to give away all the land except Tel Aviv. Want affordable housing? Defend your land, don't give it away.
5. Move to the Settlements
Eli ,   USA   (07.23.11)
I heard the rent is real cheap on the settlements. To bad Tel Aviv, this is what you get for wanting to give Israel to the Arabs. Bibi stand strong, Build the rest of Israel and tel Tel Aviv they can move to Gaza.
6. Work, be creative and you'll have money
Oren   (07.23.11)
Stop asking from the government what you cannot get by yourself. It's not the government's job to find housing for you.. Don't be leeches like the orthodox Jews. Be creative, work, make money and buy a house. It's that simple.
7. its political.... nothing else
James ,   Herzeliya   (07.23.11)
8. To Oren this is a predictable comment. Get a job and leeches
Levi ,   Karmiel   (07.23.11)
This was a predictable comment we are exspecting this type of comment from those agaisnt the people. He says get a Job. I have 2 I work full time at one and part timne at the other just to keep food on the table. My wife also works. He says make money buy a house. How can one buy a house with the salaries made in Israel? It will take 20 years to save for a down payment that at this rate no one could ever achieve. Prices in Israel are to high some believe about 50% above where they should be. Wonder why the banks will not loan more then 60% now? Even they feel these prices are 40% higher then they should be and are not willing to take the risk. Open your eyes folks. we need housing and much more of it. And real prices or end up like the rest of would has USA, Greece, Ireland and more. Housing in the USA in areas LOST 75% of thier value. Open your eyes before its to late. LET OUR KIDS HAVE HOMES THEY CAN AFFORD.
9. Great they heard you - new housing in 3-5 years
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (07.24.11)
People seem to forget that the current crisis comes as a result of the global crisis 2-3 years ago. It takes that long to build a building and even longer to plan, get approvals and licenses, etc. So the current crisis started when new projects were not initiated or were canceled in 2007-9. That was when people found out that their apartment project in Jerusalem was not only canceled but that the insurance required by law was only paid on half the apartments. What do they expect Bibi to do? Wave a magic wand and have projects start 3 years ago? Or to force landlords to charge below what people are willing to spend? Bibi and his crew will work on shortening the red tape, but then it will take 2-3 years to build and even then it will be market prices. Meaning as much as the market is willing to pay and that will be more than these people can spend.
10. Its the tax cheating French investors.
naro ,   nyc   (07.24.11)
French Jews are sending their illicit, hidden money to Israel and are buying properties at any prices. It is basically a money laundering operation for them.
11. The high prices are a symptom of government inteference
Oren   (07.24.11)
The high prices of housing in Israel are a symptom of government interference to begin with. Now they want the government to interfere again and to lower the prices. This is not the real solution to the disease. The solution is to stop the government from interfering with the economy once and for all and to have a real free market - then the prices will go down, the service in different sectors will improve, and Israeli will flourish.
12. Shund isn't possible in Tel-Aviv without Zion..
Ypip ,   Canada   (07.24.11)

14. Build everywhere and piss on world opinion.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.24.11)
15. to #10
Ilana ,   Merkaz   (07.24.11)
You are damn right!! They are laundering all their black money they made by stealing not only the Income Tax Office but stealing the French stupid goyim. Believe me I know what I am talking about, I was born, lived in France and know many many thieves in the "Quartier du Sentier" ....
16. messianic capitalism
Benjamin ,   Tel Aviv   (07.24.11)
Is as deranged as any other kind of messianism. To everyone here preaching it: People are working 40 hours a week and more and still can't make ends meet. If capitalism were as marvelous as you claim, such a situation would be impossible. Why are people making so little while working so much? Because the majority of the wealth produced by their labor is being stolen from them by parasites who do nothing and produce nothing but own everything. This might fly in America, but it doesn't here.
17. thats the day iwas waiting///////////////
nava   (07.24.11)
all my sympty with the protesters
18. not agree with -11
123   (07.24.11)
19. the peace process never attracted 10,000
zionist forever   (07.24.11)
The left have never had this kind of turnout in their calls to give the arabs whatever they want in exchange for peace. The right have never had this kind of turnout in their anti calls not to surrender to the arabs. Campaigners wanting Gilad Shalit released has never had this kind of turnout. If we have 10,000 turning out then this may just end up being Israel's Tathir Square but whilst for the arabs it was just a matter of getting rid of their dictators there the only is no quick fix to this one. Its a problem that cannot be solved either by this government or a left wing one its something thats going to take years not months. It must be a coalition between government, municipalities, private sector and individuals.
20. Government ignored 10x people during disengagement
Ilan ,   Ariel   (07.24.11)
What did Rabin call these people: propellers. What do you say to people who won't allow religious people or nationalists to join their protest.? They cut off their own legs and as a result their protest will go no where.
21. In Montreal during the Summer we have all kinds of
Al   (07.24.11)
Festivals. Jazzfest, Comedy fest, Movie Fest, Hot Dog Fest...etc. Its hot its summer and the living is easy. In Tel Aviv, they have gay pride parades such as Montreal and one fest we dont have...Bitch and Bellyach Fest 24/7 each and every day all day long. Were life so lousy in Israel as you would like us to believe you'd be hightailing it out of there wouldn't you? But no, you dont for here in North America you'd be busting your ass working for a living and no one would give a damn either way were you to bitch and bellyach. How many Israelis I met and still meet who thought that living in Canada would be a walk in the park and are discovering that you have to work like a son of a bitch just to eat and pay the rent. They run to Chabad and discover religion just to ward off the lonliness, isolation and cold. In Israel they can whine and bitch but they wont freeze and or starve. So to all these pisshead demostrators...Grow up and get on with it. No one owes you anything...no one. Be thankful you live amongst Jews who will at least ensure you dont starve and that you will have some kind of roof over your head.
22. #21 - So in Montreal people starve!
Eric ,   Montreal   (07.24.11)
What nonesense! There are dozens of organizations in Montreal that collect and provide food to the poor and the needy. There are also many places you can go for shelter and daily meals. Obviously, Al in his Cote Saint-Luc ghetto, is completeley unaware of what is happening in the rest of this fabulous city, chosen time and again among the best 20 cities in the world to live in.
23. Eric you are dumb as a poutine in tomato sauce
Al   (07.24.11)
You didnt understand one thing I wrote...go back to writing nothing. Besides I dont live in CSL YOu on the other hand do, for your english reading comprehension is poor.
