3. Huh? What?
GideonReader ,   USA   (07.24.11)
A sign said "Welfare State Now!" Government supported prices for food, residences, air conditioning, fuel oil, petrol. OK. THAT has always shown itself to be an idea that works out well wherever it is tried, has it not? What about me. Did I fall through the "safety net"? Am I chopped liver, or better Bluga caviar? No price controls on Lagavulin single malt? No cheapo Don Tomas Clasicos?
4. Its all political BS..take away their iphones and these
Al   (07.24.11)
dopes would be lost in space. All these losers are being paid to demostrate...Were they working, they would be working. Losers with a capital "L".

The hard-working, IDF serving middle-class do not deserve any welfare. Parasites do instead. Welcome to the 21st century-Israel

7. What`s the average age you can afford ...
Nora Tel Aviv   (07.24.11)
to have your own appartment in Tel Aviv ? 20? 30? 40? 50? And in European capitals ? Ever? Never? When the media and the politicians come to you all of a sudden you start to think that "You" are the people! and "You" want socialsm!! You know what? Ask socialists like Ehud Barak or Shimon Peres and they will tell you what they say is not what they do (when they buy 150 meter penthouses in Tel Aviv) . You better ask Leftist MK Hayimowits to revive Karl Marks`s theories again. And please, please when you see that all that bunch of left and right wing politicians are listening to your demands, do not trust them.
8. representatives from the Black Panthers movement.???
Jayjay ,   Israel   (07.24.11)
There is a problem with the hisgh cost of living compared to the average wage......, but unfortunately the left are starting to make there own agenda out of these protests. Why are representatives of the Black Panthers there? Why are these idiots calling for a revolution??
9. Plenty of apartments in Judea and Samaria
usa   (07.24.11)

11. Give each of them an official permit ...
Jules   (07.25.11)
... to build a house in Judea and Samaria. If they refuse - they are ultra-leftists demagogues and hypocrites, trying to bring down the Government.
12. The pirces are out of control across the country we all know
Levi ,   Karmiel   (07.25.11)
We must build and build fast pressure the sales of these new homes are real rates about 60% of what they are now. This is why the banks will not loan oer 60% they also know its way to high and they themselves do not want the risk. Simple build and sale at fair prices according to the national average which is not 8 k a month as they would have us believe. The average Israeli salary is somewhere arounf 5k a month sheckles or lower. The avergae Israeli has two jobs not one. Lets get real here. Build Build fast and Sale at a fair price.
13. Hey, let's turn Israel into Cuba.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (07.25.11)
We'll call it the People's Republic. Let's nationalize all housing, no private property. Forget rent & mortgages, everything should be free. We can set up a Ministry of Housing - they can assign living quarters. Appartments will be assigned by lottery, that's fair. And why stop there. We want equality, after all. We can confiscate all private bank accounts & distribute the money equally. We have to eliminate social distinctions so every one gets the same uniform. That's equality. Food is a human right, why are we paying for food? Everyone gets a ration book, bureaucrats can decide what & how much to eat. The State will assign jobs to eveyone, unemployment will end & everyone will get the same salary. Utopia is at hand. Just like North Korea.
14. #9, no, no there aren't.
lital ,   tel aviv, israel   (07.25.11)
The housing crisis exists in judea and samaria for the same reason, its takes ages to get approval to build. new housing projects there barely keep up with the natural growth of their own populations.
15. Many of them are Meretz, Hadash supporters.
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (07.25.11)
16. to #12 as I understood you got free market
ghostq   (07.25.11)
the right address would be the real estate controllers, like entrepreneurs, they r the right address.
17. Build, Baby, Build!
Dan ,   Israel   (07.25.11)
To paraphrase a slogan used by Sarah Palin and other Republicans, Israel needs to build large spacious 40 story condo projects like there is no tomorrow. Once supply oustrips demand by, say 10-15%, you will begin to see many land lords quickly dropping their rents, especially when their apartments are empty for several months.
18. #15 Tanya. And who paid for the tents?
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (07.25.11)
The New Israel Fund. This is just another attempt by foreign anti-Israel Leftists to unseat Netanayhu. They're hijacking an issue but they don't care about housing, they have no practical solutions.
19. #8 Black Panthers & Socalists
Yitzi ,   Beit Shemesh   (07.25.11)
Don't get me wrong here, there are serious housing problems and prices need to come down. The government needs to get out of the land business and relax some regulations. The Black Panthers, and other assorted socialists are the same type of communists that hijacked the Bolshevik revolution. These people are a combination of nuts, kooks, and anarchists hoping to attract a following. Many are revolutionarys without a cause living in a drug induced fog.
20. #18, Terry. And who paid for the buses they
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (07.25.11)
arrived with on Saturday night? They even didn't hide that demonstration was a political one. We live near so we went to see. Many of demonstrators carried red flags.
