Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (07.26.11)
how when you are dealing with the religion of peace it's impossible to keep the peace. Perhaps LebanonPride can explain that to the peacekeepers.
2. speedy recovery to the wounded peackeepers!!
Alia ,   Israel   (07.26.11)
3. again the terrorists of Hizbullah????

4. The U.N. "peacekeepers" ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.26.11)
... are not terribly adept at keeping the peace.

Iranian Jew ,   LA   (07.27.11)
Where is he? It's time to blame zionist for it, buddy. You are falling behind. Wishing quick recovery for the soldiers!
6. #4, Miss ILLOGICAL!
Harry   (07.27.11)
"... are not terribly adept at keeping the peace.." Coming from a person who supports an air force that uses UN compounds as target practice!
7. I clicked on this story to see which talkbackers
matt ,   usa   (07.27.11)
were handing out lollies in the streets. Usual suspects. Sarah B is a one person walking hate-bomb
8. #1: It's actually quite simple
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (07.27.11)
And if you knew anything about Islam, which you so clearly do not, I wouldn't need to explain it. But, I will (I'm nice like that). You see, there are people who do not follow the teachings of the Quran. These are the people who are known as "Islamists" (ironic, isn't it?). See, it's actually quite simple.
9. UN IGNORES TERRORISTS
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.27.11)
Until a bomb or two awakes them to the fact that they really exist When Arafat was in Lebanon, it was the very same UN that allowed Arafat’s murderers to hide right next to them, affording them the shelter of adjacent UN positions
10. UN peacekeepers?
Susya Bar Dror ,   IL   (07.27.11)
Under the eyes of the UN in Lebanon, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran managed to smuggle about 30-40000 missiles and rockets into the Lebanon. This represents about 50 up to 200 full trucks per year. Therefore, what exactly is the actual role of the UN in the Lebanon?
11. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.11)
Oh, stupid you. If a terrorist rabble chooses to stockpile weapons in schools, hospitals AND UNITED NATIONS COMPOUNDS, guess what? Those schools, hospitals AND UNITED NATIONS COMPOUNDS become legitimate military targets. Since you know nothing about international law or the rules of war, it would be best for you to refrain from addressing the subject entirely. Unless, of course, you really enjoy making a complete and total fool of yourself.
12. To: Susya at No. 10
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.11)
I think the U.N. is mostly there to protect and defend terrorists. As happened in the instant case, sometimes, their loyalty to terrorist elements comes back to bite them, badly.
13. speedy recovery from Israel...
Daniela ,   Israel   (07.27.11)
14. #8. Lebanon Pride
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (07.27.11)
Hi You are proud of Lebanon. I am proud of Lebanon for reemerging from one of the most destructive civil wars of the 20th century... Yet the darkness that cant be ignored is the Hezbollah grab of one half of the entire country and now with their cronies Ahmadinejad wanting to grab Lebanons resources Full pride can only be restored once Lebanon fully belongs to the Lebanese..not Hezbollah, not Iran, not Israel, not Syria Whilst you in Canada and me in UK see what appears to be calm in Lebanon scratch the surface and you will discover a hatred and resentment of Hezbollah that runs so deep that sooner or later that pressure will be bound to give Long live Lebanon
15. Law and order. UN style -- a disaster !
Fred   (07.27.11)
Why should hezbo acquiesce to the UN demand? they are nothing but a band of cretins, idiots run by arabs.. This Unifil is a worthless gang of marionettes dangling to the tune of the lebanese gangsters who dictate the why, when and how..One thing is for sure, it's not going to finish in a peacefull note --- more bloodshed. This impotant UN will be in the same position as the EU against Kaddafi. ---- ZILCH.
16. #6 Harry - Don't be such a dunce
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (07.27.11)
The UN is supposed to be Neutral, it simply isn't allowed to shelter terrorists within the confines of their compounds, as they did in Gaza & Lebanon In the heat of battle, things happened that aren't intended, though hiding in the UN Compounds was most certainly intentional
17. LebanonPride / 8
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (07.27.11)
That was a nice reply. Thank you. While I am not a fan of Islam as you know, I do know a few Muslims that I like and consider friends. I wish there were more like them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Hezbollah either. While I feel they are somewhat needed in the same way Hamas is needed in Palestine (bring on the haters...). I would prefer they didn't get involved in gov't, but I guess in a way it helps keep them moderate. But in the end, I agree: Long Live Lebanon :)
