1. Instead of public housing.........
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (07.27.11)
.why don't they focus their attention on the heinous requirement to mobilize 30% of the price of an apartment in order to qualify for a mortgage from the banks? Why don't they demand long term loans from the State for at least 20% so that they can get enough funds together to qualify for the bank mortgages? That would be a positive step which would help a lot of young people to get on the property ladder.
2. Time for new elections.
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (07.27.11)
Time to resolve the countries direction. Labour was lousy and so is the Likud. The religious are simply a burden that can no longer be given a free ride. Separation of religion from the state and the need to make some peace agreement with the Pals. We dont want aparthied after all.But mainly the correct balance between the left and the right so that the middle class and their children can stay above water.Does Bibi have the balls to call a new election ? Are the labour party afraid of a new round ,lets see
3. Gov. lying to the people about aid? Copying from America!!!
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.27.11)
You would think obumma had taken over Israel, gaza yes, but Israel no.
4. There is only one solution.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.27.11)
If large numbers of Israelis start leaving the country, then the government and the banks will stop acting like an enemy of the people.
5. To the government
R ,   Israel   (07.27.11)
Making the tents go away will not change the fact that you have pushed us all to the limit. You will see at the next elections. A candidate who is tough on national interests and pro-social interests will take the government away from you.
6. Histadrut?
i ,   jerusalem   (07.27.11)
The same mobsters that sucks 10% of the economy dry? Surely they are not at all part of the problem!
7. #2 I dont see a single useful suggestion in your post.
rebecca ,   Modi'in   (07.27.11)
It's a rant about the religious, that's all. This whole thing is political, trying to get new elections because the far left does not have enough votes in gov, and either you are part of that organisation, or you are stupid enough to be falling for it.
8. #1 Mike - Keep your tough requirements
Rachel ,   US   (07.27.11)
I'm sure 30% down is difficult but that is the reason why Israel does not have the housing crisis the US has. We eased on housing qualification requirements and look what happened. And it's still not over because the 2nd lien mortgages problem has not hit yet.
9. democratic election /for the entire mankind.
cosmopolitan ,   global-municipality   (07.27.11)
yes, indeed time for a new election for the jewish and palestinian people together, for what can/will happen next in the land between the river jordan and the mediterranean sea. it is also time for democratic elections in the entire middle east and in the whole world (in every country), so dictatorship can change into democracy everywhere (every country/people in it"s own way). among others the united nations organization should/can organize this and should/can also be strengthened and democratized itself, after legal regulation on our planet etc.
10. It is politically motivated pure and simple
James ,   Herzeliya   (07.27.11)
11. #2 Oh mommy I don't want to grow up
Nachman ,   TA   (07.27.11)
If you are going to write out a tantrum be succinct.
12. Some Are Anarchists
leo ,   nyc   (07.27.11)
My cousin in Israel said he recognized two of the protesters and they live in his building in Ramat Aviv---so some people there have less than pure motives...
13. If the Histadrut joins in...
Zvi   (07.27.11)
...Then the movement just lost my support. Those idiots need to be told to get lost - they're part of the problem.
14. #9 cosmopolitan, justice for all
Phil ,   Ireland   (07.27.11)
palestinians can/will elect hamas who call for killing of jews. in all arab countries/peoples elections can/will elect extreme islamic governments. these will not be democratic in any way/shape/form. the un has no will(never had) to reform itself whatsoever/in any way/shape/form so our planet is doomed to the rule of people/mankind with all its faults/flaws including the waging of war(s)/conflict(s). perhaps when people stop pontificating their drivel about how man can overcome the thirst for war, the reality(actual/real) will set in, then we can all look forward to no more condescending preachers lecturing us on how peace will be achieved while war/conflict is all around.
