2. Not accurate video.
John ,   USA   (07.28.11)
- Jordan ANNEXED the West Bank territory after 1949. Britain and France accepted it, so they became legit ruler over this territory. Similar resolution allowed Israel to annex territories that it won in same war, as well as annexation of Gaza from Egypt. Therefore, territory after 1967. is occupied, but occupied from Jordan. True, there is not Palestinians prior 1952 and famous Assad's recognition of Arafat's leadership. - True, Green line did not have any political connotation. But, with ceding the territories to Palestinians, it gained political connotation. - Balfour declaration is actually a big fraud made by British. Its wording is so inaccurate that it leaves so much room for interpretation: it recognizes the Jewish right for "HOME" in Palestine. It does not say STATE. If it had said "state", then the things would have been much different. But, Balfour wanted to get money from Rotschild-led Zionists as well as troops from Sherif of Hussein bin Ali for strike in Otoman's belly, so he deliberately left this ambiguous. Result? Wars. God kill the queen! It is good, though, that the video does not take Bible as a "legal base for this territory". CAUSE IT IS NOT. Legality must be undoubtedly proven - and how will you prove that God gave some peace of land to certain people? This falls in area of belief - and that is easily countered with other belief. I think that recently somebody tried to prove this, I think in New York? If I recall correctly, somebody sued Palestinians for taking the land God gave to Israel? I think that lawer then sent a sub poena call to God, or something like that, on address "Heaven, no number" or something... Of course, post office returned the letter with "unable to deliver" seal on it. So court ruled that the owner is unknown and cannot be reached to verify the truthfulness of the land document (Bible), so the case was dismissed. Palestinians won because they proved that Bible's document cannot be legal tender... I don't remember correctly, it was I think some year, maybe more, ago... So, Ayalon says excellent - the base for the Israel's existence is not Bible, but the recognition of League of Nations and UN. And that's all. Arab nations can kiss their asses goodbye, as well as everybody else - these two documents seal Israel's existence. But the borders - oh, well... And the "right" of being in West bank - this is where he is not so right. :)
3. about time!!
Yisraeli   (07.28.11)
Well done, keep making them addressing all the issues and make them simple that even children can understand. Kol Hakavod Danny keep up the good work. PS. You ought to explain why '67 was a 'defensive' war, as Israel pre-empted and appears the aggressor without outlining the facts that preceded the war in the first place.
4. the truth sometimes hurts!
Shira Apple ,   Israel:)   (07.28.11)
I'm sure they'll go through it....
5. 1917- Balfure signed a documment which prmisses
George ,   UK   (07.28.11)
the land to the jews! and other lands like syria and egypt to the arabs!
6. TO MR. AYALON
FO ,   Belgium   (07.28.11)
My congratulations, Mr. Ayalon. Just a dream; suppose such truth would have been published just after the six days war... Israel would have been in a different international situation ! It irks the Arabs? It's O.K. Truth always irks. Just two remarks, Mr. Ayalon. The first: you quote several experts in international law, and as first Prof Eugene Rostow. Why not mentioning that he was the author of UN Resolution 242, the resolution that became the cornerstone of diplomacy in the Middle-East. From experience I know that most top journalists and specialist are totally ignorant about this fact. And the second remark: you quote that the UN reaffirmed the decisions of the League of Nations concerning the Mandate of Palestine, that gave the Jews the rights to settle in the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, a right unaltered in International Law, and valid to this day. The UN reaffirmed this right thanks to Article 80 of the its Charter. I regret that this was not mentioned in your video. Besides that, again my congratulations, and continue with courage your important PR work.
7. Finally Deputy FM Ayalon shows
Susya Bar Dror ,   IL   (07.28.11)
diplomatic cojones. Its an excellent PR video. That it "irks" arabs is proof that it very well done and proof that Israel is right. However, I am still of the opinion, that FM Lieberman must be replaced.
8. About Time
Ellen ,   israel/USA   (07.28.11)
THis is something that should have been done years ago. For too long the Palestinian version has been put out as truth, so long that people --as seen by some talkbackers--are refusing to see truth when it is presented to them. The information in the video is NOT Israel's POV, it is information that can easily been found on the UN website were someone to take the trouble and look versus reading the canned lies put out by the Arabs. # 2--if Jordan annexed the territory ( which it didn't) and that is considered acceptable than it is okay that Israel annexes the East Jerusalem and the Golan as well as any other part of the "West Bank" it wants. These are areas that were LOST in a defensive war.
9. Beyond the merits
Moshe ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.28.11)
What this government does not understand, obviously, is that the Foreign Ministry is most assuredly NOT the place for propaganda. Our diplomats are SUPPOSED to be making us friends around the world, not enemies. I recognize that Lieberman and Ayalon have that completely backward. If Ayalon wants to do hasbara (when he is not having other nations' diplomats sit on the floor or low seats), fine. Move him to another ministry where he can do all the international advocacy work he wants. But this function should be separated from diplomacy. They are antithetical to each other. That is one, only one, of the major problems with Lieberman-Ayalon. And why we are losing friends around the world. (Just watch the September vote.)
10. #2 Jordan and west bank
Yisraeli   (07.28.11)
I believe it was only 2 nations that recognised Jordans annexation of the west bank and they were Britain and Pakistan, so you want to tell us it was a legitimate recognition and not occupation by Jordan? And when they occupied the area did they protect freedom of worship of all faiths? No of course they didnt, on the contrary they dug up Jewish headstones and used them as pavement and destroyed all Jewish synagogues of the area.
11. a reason for that
maurice clebert ,   judea samaria israel   (07.28.11)
if such a video irks arabs so much...there must be a good reason...perhaps because all what is said in it is TRUE?and in spite of all their lies, Judea Samaria really belongs to the jews?? ...
12. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.28.11)
Actually, the only country that recognized Jordan's declared annexation of Judea and Samaria was Pakistan. England and France did NOT recognize the annexation. But the failed attempt to annex the West Bank did produce Jordan's Citizenship Law of 1954, wherein Jordan extended Jordanian citizenship to all West Bank Arabs -- AND THEIR PROGENY (that's the key here) IRREVOCABLY. The West Bank remained non-sovereign territory, but its residents became Jordanian citizens. Israel acquired the West Bank in the course of fighting a DEFENSIVE war against Jordan in 1967. Because it is non-sovereign territory, Israel is free to keep, settle and even annex the West Bank. Its Arab residents are Jordanian citizens, so any annexation by Israel -- yes, that's coming -- will result in the repatriation of those Jordanian citizens to Jordan. Israel's legitimacy and Israel's existence are NOT in question here. Israel's absolute right to annex Judea and Samaria are NOT in question here. Facts on the ground, John; facts on the ground.
13. Nu? So what's new?
Israeli 2   (07.28.11)
Many more such explanations must inundate the world. Thank you, Mr. Ayalon. The next step: Part 2: Explain why these disputed territories should be annexed.
14. At 2.18 secs
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (07.28.11)
B"H At 2.18 secs Ayalon says: "Let's go a little further back in time. Don't worry, not to the days of the Bible, only about 100 years". Well, I do worry: Because if he is on the Land as a result of the various UN docs, then - not if but when those UN docs will tell him to go, he'll have to go. I am here because of Hashem, our G-d, and because of His Torah. Torah doesn't change according to the latest desires of the nations!
15. At last Israel starts to make its case!
robert renders ,   belgium   (07.28.11)
16. Ayalon is a peace activist...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (07.28.11)
The real peace activists are those who fight lies.
17. #2
Mark ,   Liverpool, UK   (07.28.11)
Jordan, like Syria, Egypt, Leabnon Morocco and Iraq launched a war against the newly established Israel (on 1948) and occupied this territory from the Brits. the calls for jews extermination and the vids of these calls from 1948 you can find online. Please make the effort to find them. and on the way search for Haj Amin Al-Huseini (the nazi mufti of jerusalem and see what the "poor palestinians" planned for the jews of the ME! (it includes lovely pictures w/ Hitler that you may like...) have a nice day educating yourself ;)
18.  The truth can not be hided!
Challenge ,   Cosmopolitan   (07.28.11)
Go to the archives of the New - York Times (it's on-line), and really look at the newspaper in 1948 . now they also call it occupation of the "West Bank ", but in 1948 they called it Judea and Samaria (hebrew name)!
19. The West Bank and Jordan
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (07.28.11)
In 1922 Haim Weizmann for th e Jews and Emir Feisal for the Arabs signed an agreement giving all of Palestine west of the Jordan River and most of what is today's Jordan (but was then still part of Palestine) as a Jewish Homeland. Nothing has repealed that agreement since. The British later created the state of Jordan, to further appease the Arabs - as is their wont to this day - and to this day it remains the only legal homeland for the Palestinian Arabs, despate what Abdullah might think. Jordan took the West Bank in the war they started against us in 1948 but we won it back in 1967, so whether it was annexed by Jordan or not is irrelevant. Face it, Defeated countries have a tendency to be carved up after their defeat - look at the Austro-Hungarian Empire after WWI and Germany/Poland/Russia after WWII. And we all know how Jordan looked after the Jewish Cemetery onHar Hazeitim. Way to go Danny - hope there'll be more such videos forthcoming.
20. Oops he failed
SAM ,   ME   (07.28.11)
to mention that there are %$%# people living there which are living miserable lives because of the “legal” Israeli presence!! But hey there are not human anyways. This is childhood indoctrination.
21. distorting
Niss ,   uk   (07.28.11)
This should have been shown long time ago at the time when the Palestinians started talking about land grab and they trying to change the history of the jewish people in Israel. Palestinians should go to Jordan and this should be shown in the U N if they will allow it and challenge the people who dont agree with Daniel Ayalon. This tape should be shown in universities to unions and people who want to boycott Israel i wonder what they will say and KOL HAKAVOD TO Daniel Ayalon (i wonder how many israelis dont agree with tape) no wander the arabs dont want to hear this.Lets hope that the Foreign PR experts will make use of this
22. Wow!
Oniel ,   London   (07.28.11)
This is loong overdue. Has Israel finally woken up to the fact that it takes being media savvy to win the war with these lunatics they are dealing with?
23. Arabs upset because their number 1 weapon is propaganda
Yaniv ,   Israel   (07.28.11)
and number 2 is terror, not the other way around. Previously, Israel has only cared about its tactics on the battlefield. Can it be that Israel is now catching on, going to the schools and using Arab propaganda methods against them. If so, awesome and what took you so long, Israel?
24. 100 schools
Jarda ,   Czech Republic   (07.28.11)
Great success of your PR offensive. How many schools are in US and the rest of the world?
25. Jordan is occupied territory:
IamJoseph ,   Sydney   (07.28.11)
This was and remains the worst Post-W.W.11 crime: "IT WILL BE A HISTORIC COMPROMISE TO GRANT TWO STATES IN PALESTINE - ONE FOR THE JEWS - AND ONE FOR THE ARABS" - A cigar chomping Churchill. Err, why corrupt a mandated pledge before the world, when the Jews were at the most helpless - and after creating 22 ficticious Regime states which never existed before?
26. Truth will prevail
Brod ,   USA   (07.28.11)
Israel's move to shine the light of truth on the darkness of lies and deceptions that the Arab Islamist-Jihadists have been piling up to the world pertaining to the History of the Land of Israel will triumph against evil. Ayalon is doing the right thing to enlighten the world. In this battle of the mind, TRUTH will prevail!
27. The video is afew weeks old and pathetic PR!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (07.28.11)
Israel has no chance of wining the propaganda war as long as pathetic attempts like this and the "Hasbara" campaign are the crux of Israel's "explanation" for our presence here. Israel DOES NOT have explain our presence in our home of 5,000 years! We have to attack the vicious, maligning and murderous actions carried out in the name of Islam. We have to show the world the actions of the criminals whom the media call "militants" who butcher Israeli families while the sleep and the throats of babies. The world must be made tro realize that the actions of Breivik in Norway, which were an assault of the values of human decency, are exactly the same as disgusting crimes committed my Muslims against Jews, Israelis, Westerners and even their own people. Muslims killed almost 3,000 people on 9/11 but the USA continues a policy of appeasement. The world must be made to realize the the events in Norway are a direct result of the attempts by Muslims to force they way of life on the liberal and tolerant countries in Europe and Australasia and the USA. How to do this, The answer is easy. It is time for World Jewry to take their heads out of the sand and use their financial and political clout to defend Israel which is the only defense they have against a second Holocaust spearhead by rampant Islam! We, the Jewish people, must ask Roman Abramovich, the owner of Chelsea Football Club, what he personally intends to do about the Antisemitic insults thrown at Israeli footballer Yossi Benyaoun in a "frenziedly" played against a Malaysian team on 21st July, 2011. If we sit on our backsides and do nothing we will lose and our enemies, which include Jews hating Jews like Sir Gerald Kaufman MP, Norman Finkelstein and former Knesset Member Naomi Hazan, will be the winners and we might as well go to back to Auschwitz!
28. #20
Arie ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.28.11)
AND YOU FAIL TO MENTION that in south israel and near Judea and Samaria they are launching rockets on Israeli citizens and killing them, throwing stones at the ect. it's so easy to blam. and BTW, they live there with more rights thasn they can get from jordan for example. why not posting things against Jordan??? because they are arabs like you??? where is your self respect? Shalom from Israel (yes,I still hope that one day peace will come ...)
29. Educate yourself nr 2, John
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.28.11)
You're wrong. No country has to give legitimacy to its "right" to exist. The whole idea of explaining one's right to exist as an individual and as a state/nation is perverted. No matter if politicial institutions such as UN recognize Israel and other states or not, it's a fact that Israel and other nations, their populations, their cities, industries, universities, banks, hospitals and civilizations exist. Taiwan is not recognized today in the UN because of international fear of Chinese pressure and possible repercussions for recognizing Taiwan, so the whole idea of not recognizing Taiwan is entirely political. I use Taiwan merely as an example. USA was established before the existence of international law and many European states were established before the existence of international law. Also, Israel, India and China are the oldest living civilizations on earth and Jews have existed and lived for 4000 years - including in Israel. It's actually shocking when you state that "Israel's right to exist is based not on the Bible but on international law". First of all, our right to exist is beyond discussion - what right does John, what right does USA and what right does humanity have to exist? Israel doesn't have to explain itself to anyone. Maybe the USA can explain why you slaughtered Indians/Native Americans? Would international law support that? Second, the Bible is not a book but many books - some of them containing legends and myths and some of them containing historical facts concerning peoples like the Israelite/Hebrew/Jewish people and political states such as Israel and later on Judah. The Bible mentions many ancient states - among them Hittites, Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Edomites, Canaanites, Philisteenes, Phoenicians and so on. Do you know something John? Not only Biblical sources speak of Jews and Israel but also Jewish non-Biblical sources such as Joseph Flavius during Roman times. Do you know something else? The Egyptians, the Hittites, the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Phoenicians, the Edomites, the Philisteenes, the Canaanites, the Persians, the Greeks and the Romans ALL mention Israelites/Hebrews/Jews and Israel in their historical sources? Coincidence eh? No, Israel's right to the land of Israel which INCLUDES Gaza, Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem is based on the fact that the Jews are 1) One of the oldest civilizations on earth and 2) The historical population and owners of the land of Israel. Get yourself and education. Second, fix the mess in your country.
30. Congratulations Mr Ayalon
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.28.11)
It's about time that Israel makes its case and spread the truth to the world. Israel should spread the truth to the entire world 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Israel should have an equivalent to CNN or BBC and air news/information about Israel. And also, more exactly, programs and reports on Israel's ancient history in the land of Israel. There simply cannot be any longer any doubt about who is the historical owner and original population of the entire land of Israel. Keep up the good work and intensify it. Israel has to do much much more.
