there is a core of thruth in your talkback, i thought. osama bin laden and al-quaida were first supported by the reagan and george bush sr. us-administrations in afghanistan in the war against the russian army and their afghan allies. the same us-administrations also supported/sponsored saddam huseyn and his dictatorship in their war against iran. and george bush jr. and his administration asserted that their was a connection/relationship between the iraqi, saddam huseyn regime and osama bin laden and his al-quaida. the islam-world is also (very) diverse/complex, like for instance; judaism, christianity etc.

al-queida are sunni islamists. iran has a population whith a shyite islam majority.
