1. dropping military budget
John ,   Alaska   (07.31.11)
Who is the driving force behind this epic fail? It sounds like something Zoabi or her ilk would push, to make it more difficult for Israel to defend herself. Dropping defense spending in a war zone when your enemies are either attacking or getting ready to attack? That is a trap. Don't fall for it.
2. Don't fear cutting costs
Noa   (07.31.11)
there is so much waste in the army. I also fail to understand why army officers get a salary that allows them to drive around in big black American masses of gas swallowing jeeps while other people try to make ends meet. Our country needs the army just like it needs doctors and professors. No need to exaggerate at one end on the expese of the other.
3. Guns or butter... the ageless choice.
seadog1946 ,   Arthur Kill, NJ   (08.01.11)
4. IOF Budget Cuts
Peter Beck ,   Accokeek, MD USA   (08.01.11)
I wouldn't worry, General. The American taxpayer will end up bailing you out whether they like it or not.
5. to #1 you really live in Alaska, right?
joel ,   Israel   (08.01.11)
Try living in Israel where salaries are a misery and houses are nearly impossible to buy to the average and very expensive to rent and nobody can build. Security is important, but why spend zillions and lose wars (like Lebanon and Gaza), better to control spend and win right? I don't see Shalit home, or Hezbullah defeated.
6. Maybe the Gov...
Emilio ,   Sao Paulo - Brazil   (08.01.11)
Maybe the gov can cut the settlements and the civil/military apparatus to support it.
7. I am religious
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.01.11)
I am Dati Leumi... cut the Haredi budget... you all want to study? Fine? Not on my dime or the backs of others... earn your own way now.
8. Benny Shmenny Gantz Shmantz-Never forget Azza and YoSh
Kerwood Derby ,   Frostbite Falls, MN   (08.01.11)
Obviously the need in this one's mind is overwhelmingy to destroy the lives of those he is sworn to protect. Remove the threat? Never! It is always the Jews you remove. The Jews! Who you are suppose to serve and protect! Remove the threat. Enforce the right of return of those who come to kill you back to the homicidal Hamite peninsular homeland of their own name.
9. Massively build Judea/Samaria. Keep military budget.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.01.11)
Once again, lunatic leftist policies threaten the welfare of Israel. In fact, virtually all of Israel's most serious problems are a direct result of lunatic leftist policies. To solve Israel's housing problem, we need only massively build in Judea and Samaria. Remove all restrictions for Jewish building and the problem will solve itself. Countless thousands more Jews will live in liberated Judea and Samaria. Moreover, competitive market pressures will force down housing prices throughout Israel. Keep the military budget. There will be no need to cut it.
10. "Social" demands estimated at NIS 60 BILLION
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.01.11)
A Treasury report released in Israel last week suggested that the total cost of current demands - for housing, free pre-K schools, dropping fuel taxes, improved payments to medical professionals, etc. - amounts to some NIS 60 BILLION. Exactly where do these protesters think that funding will come from? It can only come from taxes, government borrowing, or from existing programs.
11. 5771 is a year of great distress according to the ELS Bible
Rivkah   (08.01.11)
codes. Go to www.arkcode.com and scroll down on the left to "EMP Attack" and you will find it is in 5771. If that is the Moses calendar, it is sometime between now and next Spring. If it is on the Babylonian Jewish calendar now in use, it is sometime between now and the Autumn new year. What does that mean? ALL electronics must be weaponized where possible to protect it from electromagnetic pulse attacks that the ELS Bible code indicates will happen this year somewhere in the world. Where is not told. This is not the time to cut military spending but to increase it to weaponize all military electronics and as much public electronics and electrical grids as possible. Diesels and old vehicles will still run after an EMP attack. Alex Jones' website at infowars.com warns that troops at Ft. Hood, Texas, have been told they will go to Libya in October-November for a ground war and the goal is the occupation of North Africa, the Middle East, and the Near East. That means WORLD WAR III !!!!! I guess the mega-billionaire construction industry needs to rebuild some countries to make some money, so a war is helpful if that is another goal.
12. #11 Rivak take your medication dear
Avi ,   Israel   (08.01.11)
13. Absolutely NO cuts should be made to military budget
Talula ,   Israel   (08.01.11)
Only a half-brained Moron would suggest that.
14. #1 - From where you are... can you see Russia?
seadog1946 ,   Arthur Kill, NJ   (08.01.11)
15. 12 Avi, Israel: HaShem rebuke you.
Rivkah   (08.01.11)
16. Outrageous even to think about it...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.01.11)
Do NOT touch the military budget. Otherwise, we risk to have a military budget inferior to that of Hezbollah and we all know what the consequences will be. If cut backs are needed, we have take a serious look into the salaries of our incompetent leaders like Netenyahu and Lieberman...
17. 14 seadog1946: Alaskans cannot see Russia except from
Rivkah   (08.01.11)
the last of the Aleutian Islands, but there is a Russian military base near the North Pole to be concerned about. To take Alaska, Russia will likely use neutron bombs to kill the people without harming the infrastructure and buildings. Visionaries who have spoken for the Prophecy Club of Topeka, Kansas, who were shown what will happen in Alaska in a war in visions said there will be no survivors. That means neutron bombs, in all likelihood.
18. #17 - Rivkah, you need to be in Sarah Palin's
seadog1946 ,   Arthur Kill, NJ   (08.01.11)
entourage... she needs your insight. BTW, Sarah is from Alaska, and while there, she sees Russia all the time.
19. Most of IDF budget is used for salarys + other benefits
Reuben ,   Lod   (08.01.11)
This is from my own experience and knowledge. Most of the budget the IDF recieves doesn't go for buying new defense systems or training. Rather it is used for paying fat salary's and pensions. The army personnel get retired at the age of 45. And by that time they have build themselves a villa atleat if not a cuple more. I haven't met one army personnel in KEVA who has retired without. It is time for this KHAGIGA to end. Also in my regular service in logistics, most of the electronics or contractor services purchased by the base was used for personal use. One time 6 air conditioner's were purchased and they were not installed or used in the base, get the point!!!
20. To #14 and #17
John ,   Alaska   (08.02.11)
I saw a T-Shirt once that said: Shemya AB, Alaska Not the end of the world ... But you can see it from here! SD - the Jews are the Chosen People and Israel is the Promised Land. Root against them all you want, but you are rooting against the One who both chose them and promised them the land. Because of this, you will not be on the winning side. I will give you the courtesy of whatever snide comment you will say in response. This is my last comment to you in this thread. Rivkah, I remember The Prophecy Club. That was a long time ago in another life, I'm afraid. I pray that whatever happens, you will always be ready.
21. Eisatzgruppen Went On a Turkey Shoot
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSA   (08.17.11)
Please everyone, read Michael Orens Six Days of War,also, the Samson Option (about Israel's nukes). BTW the writer was once a McCarthy speechwriter..should I say more? Oren envisioned another Holocaust if Israel had lost the war. After Sharons raid into the Strip pursuant to a Pales attack, many Egyptian officers were killed. Russia sent 200 warplanes, and 200 tanks to Egypt, plus artillery. In 1938 German police duringCrystal Night were hea to say, later, we will kill the Jews in the US. Off of Iow Jima, a friend told me his captain said, "we will kill the Japs" then the Jews at home". The Mufti asked Hitler for Waffen SS divisions to rid Pales of its 500,000 Jews. They WERE formed in Greece and the Balkins. Rommels defeat ended that. Hitler also listed every Jew in England (USED PHONE BOOKS)...for extermination ( rounded by by the bobbies as in France). After England and Russia, the US was next. He would use disparate fascist elements here..and Jew haters. (There were plenty..recall the Irish hated the Brits more than Germany, and Ireland was neutral during the war). Closer to home, in 73 gas vans were discovered in the Egyptian army. In 67, throughout the Muslim world, the cries of Jihad were screamed from rooftops. We all heard it, I did. "Throw them into the sea". No country tried to end the Arab blockade in 67. In 73, only when the Arabs were losing ground, did the UN interfere. Israeli do-gooders, leftits, socialists, and people in academia, just dont get it. They are like the rabbis that told Jews to hide in the synogogues (Germany) and pray to Hashem. The Krauts simply used artillery and burned down the holy places..Jews were burned alive. Yet business is giong on as usual in Israel. The protestors are tieing up the police, costing money, trying to pit one group against another and forcing their committees down everyones throat. They see themselves as the new ruling party in Israel, the New govt. 250,000 protestors is 4% of the population only. In a democracy there are ways to get legislation. In the USA we call it petitioning our legislators. We dont take to the streets with ultimatums. W/O a strong IDF, Israel will relive Crystal Night and the Einsatzgruppen. And no one will shed any tears. As George Will said, not one Jew has ever come back to life..after WW2.
