61. and where was UNIFIL?
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.01.11)
isn't UNIFIL suppose to be patrolling the border, to prevent exactly this sort of thing from happening?
62. the head of the snake
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.01.11)
there's no use striking at the tail of the snake - not only will it not stop the snake, but it will very likely get you bitten as well. the head of the snake is in tehran, not beirut.
63. if in doubt, accuse the victim, as per allah
joey   (08.01.11)
Suleiman, you are a cretin. You saw that UNIFIL did not sided with you, and that your soldiers were responsible, so you decided to use what arabs are most famous for --- "accuse the victim "

The soldiers were traveling in vehicles on a road. This would mean a routine patrol on a fixed path that is used often. The paranoia would have to be quite extreme for the Lebanese to think the road had shifted during the night.
65. stay on your boarder
Derek ,   Canada   (08.01.11)
THE IDF NEVER CROSSED THE BOARDER!!!
66. The civilized world believes Israel...
Maurice ,   Montreal   (08.01.11)
...not Lebanon. The Arab governments are well know for being BIG liars! Remeber Paliwood?
67. Lebanon doesn't exist
A ,   Belgium   (08.01.11)
Lebanon has returned to the days when it was a French colony, only now it is an Iranian colony. They are practicing pissing off Israel, first by claiming the gas fields...recognized by the UN as being WITHIN ISRAELS MARITIME BORDERS, surprise surprise...as theirs, even though they have done no exploration or research regarding the fields, and now a few weak attempts to heat up the border. Who is going to protect you Lebanon? The Hizbollah puppetmasters who actually pull your puppet strings, or Assad, whose own country is going quickly to hell (where he and it belong), or maybe the loud mouth monkey in Iran? In any case, you will be in for a whupping of unbelievable proportions. Expect it and be prepared. You can't win.
68. The Lebanese Army (LA) is a JOKE
W. ,   Beirut, LB   (08.01.11)
It's an army of losers where Shia soldiers owe their allegiance to Hizbo, and non-Shia soldiers worship the Dollar. Due to Israel's mis-management of the 2006 war, there is a widespread belief among Hizballah's sympathizers & croonies (Leb Army included) that IDF was defeated and, currently, shunning from any confrontation with the terror org. In the upcoming confrontation, IDF should hit Hizbo & the LA with extreme prejudice to set things on the right track. Believe me, true Lebanese will be more than happy for that.
69. lol i was sure about it no need for unifil or wtvr it is
Ester   (08.01.11)
70. Lebanese papers falsely reporting story
William ,   Israel   (08.01.11)
Even those papers which are against Hizbullah (yes, there are many), they all did the same thing - take the LAF story as fact and ignore UNIFIL's response that the LAF was at fault.

In that part of the world (and in many other parts), apology is weakness. It would encourage Israel's enemies. (Which "great failures in 2000 and 2006". Are these the "failures" during which Israel's enemies sued for peace?)

Vlad   (08.01.11)
Israel withdrew voluntarily in 2000, after inflicting far more casualties and damage on Lebanon than Hezbollah did on Israel. In 2006, Israel responded to Hezbollah's attack by virtually wiping out South Lebanon's economy, depleting Hezbollah's weaponry, and re-occupying the south for a short period of time. I think its high time Lebanon gets the message: watch your step around Israel.
73. How embarrassing for Lebanon
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.02.11)
Just another deliberately-engineered episode, courtesy of Lebanon's puppet-masters in Teheran. Sheer stupidity on the part of Lebanon; whatever on earth will they do when Israel decides to hit back?
74. #71 I agree with you solomon
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.02.11)
And disagree with my imposter. An apology to Turkey would most definitely be a sign of weakness and it would only give Erdogan the opportunity to publicly decline the apology and ask for more concessions from Israel. Anyway, it's Turkey that owes Israel an apology.
75. to no. 1, welcome to canada, but...
no more stone age ,   canada   (08.02.11)
..leave your wars out at the door, thank you very much. if you feel like you want to go fight for lebanon, be my guest, but i suggest you might wanna expect lots of ouch time and ass kicking from israel.
76. border incident
Joey ,   Ireland   (08.02.11)
Come on guys you all look for the slightest chance to shoot, I worked in UNIFIL many times, neither of you have any respect for the UN
77. #76 Joey - Ireland
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.02.11)
How about telling us who has respect for the UN ? They wear fancy berettes and do a rather lousy job They were supposed to monitor the flow of Iranian arms, via Syria into Lebanon, tens of thousands of rockets managed to avoid the UN"s scrutiny or else were allowed in by connivance with the UN
78. LEBANON'S PRIDE
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.02.11)
I know why you use that name, you're boasting of how you're managing to escape military duty by hiding in Canada
79. idf troops did not cross border
1minuteman ,   usa   (08.04.11)
@lebanonpride, even the U.N. which usually does everything they can to condemn israel says lebanon fired first but the truth never matters when your sole purpose is the destruction of all jews.
80. Whats the world coming up to??
Mark ,   U.S.A.   (09.17.11)
#13WTWCUT, are you seriously that stupid or are you blind, deaf, dumb & ignorant? The hell with Turdkey and the dummyhadists who run that hole in the ground. Israel has every right to defend herself and if the donkey of a president in Turdkey has a problem with that, let his ignorant ass get on the next flotilla and see if he can make any changes (at least to his wimpy ass perception OR his overrated opinion of himself and Islam) ISRAEL FOREVER!
