1. Amazing selfless demonstration
5th generation ,   Israel   (08.01.11)
Nearly every millionaire, billionaire, etc. would not have been able to achieve what they did without basic reading and writing skills he/she got from a teacher, yet somehow the government has decided teachers are not worth a living wage, and previously even made them work below minimum wage. Regardless of this vile reality, these teachers are voicing concern for the students. Kol ha kavod.
2. teachers
sas ,   israel   (08.02.11)
should show them my pension...............cannot even pay my bills with it. DISGUSTING.
3. BB and the right wing fascists will fall
Haim ,   TA   (08.02.11)
Failed goverment, failed policies, instead of wasting our tax money on the illegal settlements the goverment should start investing in educacation, health care and helping young people get a step on the property ladder.
4. to #3 this situation existed during Rabin era
ghostq   (08.02.11)
he was the one who gave industrial moguls free hand in your market, got nothing to do with the setelments, since left wing leaders also use money for election campains, and Barak... I hear he got nice penthouse.
5. raise your hand if your willing to pay extra tax to fund it
zionist forever   (08.02.11)
Everyday brings out somebody new with a new list of demands and nobody has any idea how its all going to be paid for. This started out about housing which is perfectly reasonable but now its gone way beyond that. We have parents demanding free education starting at 3 months. The teachers want a raise The Histadrut want the minimum wage to be increased. They are against privatization Building more schools to cut class sizes They also want income tax revamped and for an end to VAT. These people have spent to much time reading the Obama book of economics which says you can have anything you want we pay for it by borrowing money and then to avoid defaulting on our debts we borrow more money to repay them.
6. Israeli see, Israeli do
Steve ,   USA   (08.02.11)
Thank you #3 for brilliantly and beautifuly revealing the stark ignorance and vile stupidity which for the most part is driving the current wave of leftist malcontents and anarchist provocateurs. Let every sector of Israeli society yield to your inarticulate demand for "social change" and vulgar attack on a government which was not even in power when the political machinations were formulated which festered into these ills. For the most part israelis should be glad the previous administration left anything standing for Netanyahu to salvage. Panhandling wannabe activists spouting foolhardy slogans to nobody listening and Livni and her cohorts attempting to make political hay from this convoluted mess all make for a very stupid looking bunch of losers.
7. now teachers
chaim ,   p.t.   (08.02.11)
ONE PICTURE IS BETTER THAN A THOUSAND WORDS. the picture is showing several demonstrators wearing the blue shirts - a sign that these demonstrations are being taken over by people who are more interested in political parties and their agenda than the actual issues they are supposed to be fighting for.
8. 100 teachers
Moshe ,   Beit Shemesh   (08.02.11)
They can not miss any opportunity to get additional privileges
