Moses ,   Johannesburg   (08.02.11)
IDF reserves but as for Netannyahu i don't agree, Abbas is the one to blame for stalling negotitians. Palestinians don't want peace as for coalition is not time to risk it for PM as u know Lieberman is a settler and a pure right wing.
2. Gaza
Matt   (08.02.11)
All this reminds me of the evacuation of Gaza, the stuff they used in September is the same gear they used on the settlers.
3. but, but... the foreign media has just announced
seadog1946 ,   Arthur Kill, NJ   (08.02.11)
that Bibi is willing to discuss borders/land-swaps with the Palestinians... what, did he forget all those US congressional ovations, did Nathan recently expire?

thats right start a war to get peoples minds off the social revolution
7. September will be painful ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.02.11)
.. but not for the Israelis. The ersatz "Palestinians," on the other hand, will find themselves out of luck, out of a home and, finally -- Boruch Ha'Shem -- out of Eretz Israel. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Hallelujah!
8. Land swap
JUDAH THE LION   (08.02.11)
Israel should not give even 1 mm of land to the Arabs. This is our land for thousands of years. Why should we give and of our land.Big part of our land already been stolen from JEWS & given in 24 K GOLD PLATE.

While i agree with the mobilizations as a precaution, I also disagree with Mofaz with regards to BiBi not negotiating. He started with a 10 month freeze that even Hillary Clinton called unprecedented for Israel. This was a sign of good faith on Israel's part. Sadly, it was interpreted as weakness, by Abbas and the Arabs, and they pushed for more concessions, wasting 9 months of the 10 month freeze. Then when Abbas finally agreed to indirect talks, Hamas killed 4 innocent civilians in two drive by terrorist attacks. One was a pregnant women and mother of 5-6 kids...I forget the exact number...then Hamas held a "victory parade" for those "Heroic acts" the next day. Hamas did this to stop the talks. Now recently BiBi asked for 6 simple words from Abbas, which he refused to give, but why? Because saying those words in his mind forfeits all claims on the false "right of return", Arabs keep insisting on. As we all know, no such right exists. So when Mofaz talks of BiBi being afraid of his own party, that is at best just 25% of the story. All leaders of every country must contend with compromise for politics sake, Israel is no different. Why put the blame on BiBi, while ignoring all facts above?

It's all over except for the celebration. Abbas has painted himself into a corner from which he cannot possibly extricate himself. September? September? So what? He'll get his General Assembly recognition; a worthless resolution that is completely unenforceable. The Security Council will have a good, long laugh before they veto the resolution -- and even were they to pass it (which they won't) it would be passed under Chapter VI of the United Nations Charter -- meaning non-binding and unenforceable -- as only resolutions passed under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter are binding and enforceable. Of course, Israel will immediately terminate all so-called "negotiations" with the ersatz "Palestinians." The Oslo accords will be dead. The ersatz "Palestinians" will be left with exactly what they deserve: absolutely nothing. Be mindful of the fact that Israel will then likely annex Judea and Samaria, and repatriate its Arab residents to Jordan, country of their citizenship. Of course, if the ersatz "Palestinians" would prefer to attempt to build their fictitious state in Gaza, I'm sure Israel will be more than happy to allow them to transit Israel in order to get there. All in all -- a big win for Israel. A big loss for the ersatz "Palestinians." Just another one in a long, long list of stupid moves on the part of the ersatz "Palestinians," but at least we will be rid of them. And that will be cause for celebration indeed.
11. Mofaz is a moron
zionist forever   (08.02.11)
The other day he was saying the IDF may have to evacuate the settlements if the palestinians go to the UN in September because they might not be able to protect them. As Mofaz is no longer chief of staff and is not even in the government then he has no business saying the reserves are likely to be mobilized. It doesn't matter if they are or not Mofaz has no business discussing that or any other military matters which have yet to take place.

From your mouth to G-ds ears. The USA will veto this resolution anyway. This is just another Pallywood stunt to elicit undeserved world sympathy.

Where do you live exactly? in Israel or in the USA? If you are such a lover and defender of Israel, why don't you live here, bring your children here, send them to the army, pay your taxes and only after all this you can give your opinion. Why should my sons serve for someone who only shows up only in talkbacks..... Sometimes I am tired to read you

Thank you Helene, my sentiments exactly...
15. #13;Helene, WHAT'S UP???????????
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.03.11)
If you have read Sarah's TB's as you claim, you would know several things. First she does own a home in Israel (and the USA and I believe one other place), served in the IDF and has walked the walk as we say. Not just talk the talk. I assume at some point she has paid taxes in Israel (and still may on her home, I don't know if Israel has property taxes) whether that's true now I don't care. Personally I avoid it, any legal way I can, so if she found a way to keep more of the money she earned, I have no problem with that. But it seems to me Israel needs all the supporters they can get, living among such a hateful neighborhood. But if you disagree with her opinion on one thing or another, fine. Explain what it is, and why in a polite way, and talk about it. Why the attitude??
16. Send Mofaz To Palm Beach Florida
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSa   (08.04.11)
Mofaz runs for office occasionally, but polls show up dismally last. For a former Chief of Staff, what does that say about Israeli leadership? Would Ben Gurion, Dayan, Meir or Begin announce beforehand, or during? What would their response be to various scenarios? Abbas has already described Bibis 67 acquiescence for starters as nothing more than PR. What the heck does he want? First he extorts Israel to stop buildiing. Then he demands everything PRIOR to discussions., including right of return. When Israels Deputy P.M. offers to debate the status and history of the W. Bk..the Pales say foul and back out. I mean come on. The W. Bk, Golan Heights, E. Jeru and Strip, were taken in a defensive war from Egypt, Jordan, Syria. Now, the Pales say, lets forget history....we want the areas, while Israel is a state of all its people ( not a Jewish state). Mofaz predicts the settlements are history...and Olmsrt announced giving it all away prior to discussions. What happened to Oslo, the Roadmap, all agreements, UN242 and the petition creating 2 states in 47? If reserves are called up, how many? Where will they be assigned? Will they have authority to use lethal force? Will they arrest hundreds or thousands? What will Hez/Hamas do? And what will the army do then? Mofaz should keep his mouth shut, or run for office. He, Olmert, Livni, are undermining Israel. Send them packing.
