Unfortunately, at this point, it might be a better idea to teach these youngsters Chinese.

I've said it a 1000 times. English Math and Science is what is needed today to advance Israeli society to become a wealthy independent nation. Handouts make you poor, stupid and dependent. Only in a free society can people flourish. Smart people understand that. Foolish people want others to pay their way.

is that the americans actually have to pay lots of money to participate in this program...paying money to volunteer! i'm an american who would love to participate, however, i can't afford to volunteer through MASA!!!

The program actually costs $1000 including flight and you actually receive a living stipend of a few hundred dollars a month. So, no, this is not one of those program. Check out israelteachingfellows.org and see for yourself.
