the muslims here in singapore can call themselves muslims. but the muslims in neighbouring countries like Malaysia and Indonesia have been insulting them here in Singapore, seizing any possible chances to stir up trouble by writing on their newspaper insulting the malays here. They even instigate malays here to protest against our government for any minor matters. just last year our Mentor Lee Kuan Yuan wrote something about the malays here integrating another the society. and he was bombarded by the silly friday people across the straits. thus, we in Singapore understand a little of what you Jews go thru daily surrounding by the Friday people.

I don't think it is just one opinion. How many teddy bears and cartoons does it take to convince people that as a group Muslims don't get along with others? How many bombings does it take to show the world that Muslims (Sunni and Shia) can't even get along with each other? Can you show anywhere in the world where Muslims as a group are tolerant with those of other religions? There are Muslims that are perfectly nice people but they don't speak out. Very well said, thank you for posting that. Allah is simply the Arabic name for God. There is no difference in the God of the Torah and Quran: There is only one God. And fundemntalist Islam (like fundemental Christianity or Judaism) is a minority sect in Islam. However it attracts the most media attention, which helps distort views of our beautiful religion. By the way, while I have critisized Israel plenty, I have not once said anything disrespectful about Judaism or Christianity. And that doesn't make me any less of a Muslim.

The Old Testament is full of horrible violent stuff equal to anything in the Koran. Bits of the New Testament can be portrayed as anti-semitic.

For me, Muslims can pray five or ten times a day. Make Ramadan every month if they want: To say that Allah is the single greatest God if they like. Read the Koran 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Believe it back to 7th century is the solution to all problems. It's their right. What I do not accept is that infidels call anyone who does not believe in Islam, and condemn to death anyone who leaves or does not practice their religion, nor to consider the blow himself to pieces as the supreme will of God, to consider the rape of an infidel as a divine command, not wanting to impose Sharia as my legal system. Much less demanding national rights like in the countries where they are invited. It is my right.

I read the Koran 20 years ago. When I came to the bits that said to kill jews and christians, I threw it into the bin. If anyone keeps a copy of the book on their shelves it means that they accept that as reasonable. I did not. I threw it out. If they have a copy it means they agree in principle.
