1. DOESN'T EXPECT VIOLENCE?
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (08.03.11)
You mean like in 1973 and the Mavi Mamarma? Somebody's living in a dream world and not learning from past mistakes. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
2. smoke screen to keep public calm
yonatan silverman: t ,   tel aviv israel   (08.03.11)
PALLIATE : to reduce the violence of (a disease); also : to ease (symptoms) without curing the underlying disease 2: to cover by excuses and apologies
4. "Peaceful demonstrations" in Arabic means the covering of
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.03.11)
faces and hurling rocks and fire bombs at police officers and other law enforcement personnel. I thought those of us who don't understand Arabic should realize what the translated phrase means.....
5. violence?
sarah ,   canada   (08.03.11)
Has everyone missed the Kassams landing in Israel lately. Ask the beduin woman in hospital whether the Pals are a peace partner.
6. Are these the same intel officials
Vlad   (08.04.11)
Who armed Shayetet 13 commandos with paintball guns, tasers, and pistols for defense, thinking there would be no violence on the flotilla?
7. Palestinians already have a state. It's called Jordan.
naro ,   nyc   (08.04.11)
Jordanians are Palestinians and Palestinians are Jordanians by history, culture, religion, and language. The Palestinians are far from stateless.
8. to nr. 7.
sjoerd ruurd ,   world(-wide)   (08.04.11)
if that were true then that whould have been arranged already a (very) long time ago, even before 1948. in this case the palestinian people know excactly what they are doing and what they want. the jewish people also know what they want. and the un-mediation also know what they want and how to mediate in this conflict/issue with the meaning to get peace in that part of our world.
9. Rest in Peace OSLO, you were an old tired useless dog and
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.04.11)
now you are officially dead and buried.
10. Denial isn't just a river in Egypt !
Yaakov Cohn ,   Framingham USA   (08.04.11)
This committee must be composed of retired civil servants from the Ministry of Silly Talks. I have no doubt that the PA will initially encourage "peaceful' demonstrations. I also have no doubt that those demonstrations will be manipulated to create violent outbursts that bring the wrath of the world down on Israel.
11. To those who are pro israel....why waste your time.
yoni ,   Ramat-Gan, Israel   (08.04.11)
Friends, we always post comments on Ynet and other website such as this commenting on what we think, more often then sometimes we end up defending our nation, our people, and our brave young men and women defending our homeland. I think its a terrible waste of time. The only people reading this website are people that are Jewish, Israeli, or Arab. In English its most likely olim, or Jews in America. For the hateful people forget them, we wont change any ones mind that already believes something. Especially though a talk back. Go to CNN, Fox, Rueters, and so on..... defend our nation on these websites, these talk backs are a Zionist duty and privileged responsibility of ours. Its hard work reading those terrible news websites looking for stories on Israel, however those stories are very much biased and we need to help people who don't already have opinions on Israel to form good ones.....just and idea.
12. There will be no violence, but we will raise our voice
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.04.11)
Enough is Enough - End the "Israeli" Occupation of Palestine.
13. Funny. Should be "doesn't expect more violence than usual"
Amihai ,   Yesha   (08.04.11)
Because violence, there already is on a everyday basis. Just look two next articles of ynetnews : "'Hezbollah weapons seized'" "Grad falls near Ashkelon" So there won't be "no violence". Maybe it will not increase but I really doubt it...
14. muhammad said:" kill the people of the book wherever you
Mehemet ,   Palestine   (08.04.11)
find them" (surah , verse 5)
15. I hope so but I wouldn't count on it
zionist forever   (08.04.11)
If Abbas goes to the UN and Obama is forced to use his veto effectively killing any chance of a unilaterally declared palestinian state I don't think the arabs will take to kindly to that. Assuming it doesn't get to the Security Council so although it will only be a non binding resolution rather than creating legally an arab state because it hasn't passed the Security Council Israel is still not going to close the settlements and hand over the keys to Jerusalem. In the minds of the arabs though legal or not the UN had just said this belongs to them and Israel is not leaving so that will probably act as an incentive to violence. Hamas will certainly take advantage of it. Assuming he can last that long Assad might try and use it as a distraction, get more people marching on the border fence get themseles killed. Maybe even a justification for a war with Israel, Syria might loose but Assad might be able to turn it to his advantage. Hizbollah may decide to use it as an excuse to heat up the war over Israel's gas. We have no idea how the new Egyptian government will respond to this. Its unlikely they will go to war over it but anything is possible, I am sure the Muslim Britherhood would be able to gain political capital out of it. Iran will probably use it as an excuse to stir up trouble because the longer Iran can keep the world interested in arab / Israel problems the less time they will be focussing on Iran. Whilst I hope there will be no violence I think we will probably get some just depends on how much.
16. "Intel" officials
UptheCreek.   (08.09.11)
I assume you mean 'intelligent' officials? Which, in turn, means that once the arabs move in, the UN will be "Up the Creek".... Bravo!
17. #6 Are these the same Intel Officials etc.
Moragh   (08.09.11)
No No! NEVER.... that was Barak who enjoyed that joke, almost killing the Israeli commandos!
