1. Downgrade...
Ayeush ,   Gibraltar   (08.06.11)
Its a slape in the face, some say appropriatly deserved, to the Obama Administration and for him personally. He might try to absolve himself by claiming that he inherited a mess from President G.W. Bush; but its almost three years and policies introduced that added trillions of dollars to the debt, while increasing the level of the Debt Ceiling. But, it is not only that, it is the belligerence characteristics of President Obama shown after the agreement between the Democrats and the Republicains in which case the Republicains are considered the winners. He, Obama, was so mad that the speech he gave was so vindictive that there was no way S&P was going to accept the agreement as marker of Obama Administration seriousness to tackle the debts. It looks that President Obama is playing different tune that is almost anti-Americanism in its substance.
2. Thank Obama for that too..
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.06.11)
America has so much to thank Obama for. Historically high debts that raise the prospect of America going bankrupt, sky high taxes, disastrous, unconstitutional Obamacare, encouraging tyranny and terror throughout the world. On top of it all, America's credit is being downgraded for the first time in it's history. Thank Obama for that too.
3. the global crisis (at this moment).
sjoerd ruurd ,   world(-wide)   (08.07.11)
the us-republican party/tea party movement, us- financial sector, us-rich and super-rich class, black market sector, us-business organization etc. are to blame for the (not so good) situation and circumstances in the us and in the rest of this world at this moment, in an overwhelming and landslide majority. for the clearness, i do not want to blame and to generalize the entire american people one-sidedly, as i do not want to blame and i do not want to generalize any entire people, for there is also in the us a part of the population, who is absolutely good-willing for a just, fair and honest usa and for the rest of our globe
4. Both parties disguise their addiction to spending.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (08.07.11)
Obama as well as the Democrat and Republican Congress and Senate are a bunch of bungling liars. They will spend $4.2 Trillion dollars as of October this year at the end of the fiscal year. We have 140 million people who actually work and pay federal taxes in the United States right now. $4.2 trillion divided by 140 million workers equals $30,000.00 thousand dollars for each person in spending. The average wage in the United States is $43,460.00 dollars. President Obama with the Senate and Congress have spent almost 3/4ths of every ones wages in the United States this year alone. They hide this by keeping the tax rate the same.....while printing funny money, and borrowing money from other countries and individuals. This little charade is happening with a nod and a wink from all involved. They should all be fired for this mess. Do the math $4.2 Trillion divided by 140 million workers equals $30,000.00 thousand dollars each. The other 160 million americans are children 50 million, Social Security Recipients 65 million, and people on public assistance..Welfare 45 million.
5. Obama adminstration
sk ,   USA   (08.07.11)
Problems with the Obama administration: 1. In bed with ANTI-business unions 2. Encouraging people to remain on welfare, and that's bleeding the US dry 3. No basic business strategy yet encouraging more UNAFFORDABLE Entitlement programs (e.g. Obamacare) 4. Obamacare will be the straw that kills the US Economy! If Obamacare is going to save money how come over 1,000 corporations and notably unions have gotten exemptions and opted out. 4. Bashing, and threatening to tax the rich and businesses. These entities are not stationary targets. They will move their investments and businesses out of the US. The same democrat model has failed miserably in CA and NY state and yet Obama stubbornly refuses to budge. 5. Government bloat and more bloat! 6. Overspending. When people have credit problems, they cut up their credit cards. The Obama administration does not understand this basic concept.
