1. Well at least Barak is honest with you
Wissam ,   Palestine   (08.09.11)
This is not Finland. It will be a blood bath, and very soon, since he is so itching for it.
2. Defense Minister finally doing something for defense
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (08.09.11)
Defense Minister finally doing something for defense - not knuckling under to Obama or Edrogan. Not trying to sell out troops with an apology for defending their lives while doing their jobs.
3. We don't live in Finland
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.09.11)
Indeed we don't. The Finns did not agree to surrender parts of their homeland, but bravely fought the Soviets against impossible odds. If we lived in Finland Barak would not be Defense Minister but, at best, the assistant rat catcher or reindeer feeder.
4. Not so simple
Haim ,   TA   (08.09.11)
Does he also justify the high wages paid to career Army officers ( and he should know) who can retire at the grand old age of 43 and get a pension that is way above the national average. This is where they need to cut back and divert the funding in to other areas of the National Defense budget where it is needed.
5. Don't cut defense budget, just Barak's salary
Ted   (08.09.11)
It's true that Israel needs strong defense and needs to invest in it. But someone should look at how IDF spends and if people like Barak is being overpaid or something... Someone in the Government should have the sense and sensibility to see where expenses are leaking unnecessary and improve on it... perhaps including limiting the non-stop aids to Yeshiva students
6. 5 star Paris hotels
Ehud ,   Jerusalem   (08.09.11)
Remember this thick skinned ego maniac reserved the above luxury hotel rooms at great expense to the tax payer and not all of them were even used. This is his style and this is his arrogant mentality. What kind of answer does he think he is giving here? I personally hope to see him OUT of Israeli politics ,never to return
7. Wissam Israel @1
Moragh   (08.09.11)
Wissam darling , you are right so....... hold onto your wig!
8. #5 Ehud jerusalem
Moragh   (08.09.11)
May I suggest you tell that to the overfed Barak, Hmmmmmm?
9. Just get rid of barak, you can NEVER trust him.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.09.11)
10. After September, no money will suffice for defense. Too bad.
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.09.11)
11. Barak is the most decorated soldier of israel and you ?
Eli ,   Paris   (08.09.11)
12. Shocker!!!
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (08.09.11)
Well, Def/Min Ehud Barak is not as stupid as he looks or usually acts. But then again once is not a statistically significiant sample event.
13. Where are Barak & Peres in Protests?
SocialistMillionaire ,   Jerusalem Israel   (08.09.11)
We see the "Labor Youth " at the protests very very vocal but where are the two Labor icons Peres and Barak the multimillionaire socialists most likely watching it all over cocktails from the balconies of their multi million dollar penthouses
14. Barak!, why you haven't moved it to Jerusalem?
observer ,   Egypt   (08.09.11)
because of security, you are not up to the challenge from Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, Bahrain. so, do you sacrifice all other state Ministries for the sake of your own DM?
15. barak
sas ,   israel   (08.09.11)
cut out your salary. it will not change your life style. you managed to save so much. be an example to the people here.
16. Barak is on the wrong side
Brod ,   USA   (08.09.11)
Barak says he sides with the protesters. Why should the PM keep him in his government.? He should be repaced with a pro-government cabinet member.
17. #15
fcd ,   israel   (08.10.11)
IS CORRECT> look at your millions. at your former wife"s income. be an example to others with far less and behave like human beings. your incomes are out of balance from the average israeli income. be honest with yourself and the entire country..............your monthly incomes are not 'AVERAGE" for this country....... maybe you all lose a bit of weight.............
