31. He is innocent
ronny ,   London   (08.11.11)
Read his confession, he was asked to restate those lines like a robot. "I know the missiles are lethal and take the lives of others, without distinguishing between Arabs and Jews," he said. That is a professional speech. It was written for him and he signed it. Doesn't mean it is true. That is why only Israeli news has picked on it.
32. To: No. 29
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.11.11)
I assure you his fingernails and kneecaps are undamaged. Israel's a sophisticated country; I am sure the interrogators know that physical violence doesn't work nearly as well as sodium thiopenthal.
33. nothing to hide
observer ,   Egypt   (08.11.11)
Hamas has made significant gains in manufacturing its own rockets. It has learned to create Ammonium Perchlorate Compound, an advanced rocket propellant that in addition to extending the Qassam's range beyond 20 kilometers also - and more importantly - increases the rocket's shelf life. That means the organization can, for the first time, maintain a supply of rockets for months at a time.
34. My how things have changed
Mike ,   Mpls, USA   (08.11.11)
I can't help but remember all the bravado coming from the Hamas boys before Operation Cast Lead. And now we have the analysis of their brave warriors. Looks like LARGE numbers ran away when the IDF showed up. Yep, they are a fearsome bunch of back stabbers.
35. #26: Sarah B
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (08.11.11)
Actually, I am not a complete idiot and Hamas has many times said they'll free him. You're childish insults show you have nothing worthy to say about what I said in that post, as usual. Have a good day, Mrs. B :)
36. #28: Your criteria for a terrorist?
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (08.11.11)
Just curious what you consider to be a terrorist? Is it the number of missiles one launches into open field? Or is it one who kills many civilians? Because if it's the first one, then yes Hamas are terrorists. However, if it is the second one, then that would make Israel the terror state (that it is). The death count speaks for itself, especially regarding the number children killed by both sides.
37. Lebanon Pride- ...Sure...
Rafi ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.11.11)
It is said that one judges others by his own standards..My poor Proud Lebanese look outside the box and your own standards....Israel is a democracy and not a dictatorship who can feed garbage to its citizens and the world.....it must be transparent and convincing...Israelis are the Mossad..No action as such is taken before it is studied and reviewed for months ahead....Israel cannot afford to look stupid..unlike the Arab regimes who would silence anyone questioning them...get it...as the ones who lie today are the ones answering to the ones that have lied to tomorrow...So sorry my dear friend...we got a fat fish and we knew it before going after him...as there are enough real targets we are too busy going after questionable ones. One day hopefully you too might experience real democracy in your regime..if ever..and only then will you understand what I am saying..yes Canada is a democracy too...but its citizens are not all soldiers...there lies the difference habibi...Best of luck with the changes in your backward countries.
38. #31- I thought the exact same thing
GUH   (08.11.11)
The last few paragraphs sound so mechanical, whoever doesn't think that this "confession" wasn't coerced (via torture, intimidation, psychological pressure, or something else) is an idiot.
39. #36 lebanon
solomon ,   bklyn   (08.12.11)
Blame Hamas for the deaths of children, as they hide behind them. They also shoot rocket propelled grenades at Israeli [bright yellow] school buses. Israel places children in shelters. Wrong again.
40. LebanonPride / 36
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (08.12.11)
How many school busses has Israel shot missiles at? How many babies have had their throats slit by them? Which side passes out candy and dances in the streets when women and children are killed?
41. #37: Rafi
LebanonPride ,   Canada   (08.11.11)
lol... Of course Israel never "silences" anybody. No, the Mossad send flowers and hugs to people opposed to Israel. Only the crazy Arab "leaders" (such as Assad, Mubarak) ever kill people opposed to their regimes. It is quite clear Israel feeds lots of hasbara to it's blind supporters, who eat it up happily. Such as yourself. Please, don't talk with hasbara in your mouth.
42. To: No. 35
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.12.11)
Well, the first time Hamas said they would free him, they exacted the release of several hundred pretty despicable people from Israeli prisons. They reneged. The second time Hamas said they would free him, they secured the release of several hundred additional despicable terrorists. They reneged. Over the past two years, they have been compiling a list -- there are some terrorists that Israel cannot, should not and will not release. There is no credible reason to believe Hamas, anyway -- the best way to predict future behavior is to took at past behavior. Hamas will not release Shalit. We realize this. Sooner or later, Israel will figure out where he is being held, and go in and get him. Once that happens, nothing on this earth will save Hamas from annihilation. Nothing.
43. #36 Lebanon's Disgrace
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.12.11)
Oh for goodness sake, stop being so damn lazy, it’s defined in the Dictionary "terrorist - a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities act of terrorism, terrorism, terrorist act - the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear" Any person or persons that acted as an accessory before, during or after the act, in my view is also a terrorist The fellow that designed & made the rocket, those they set it up for launch, those that ignited the rocket, those that directed fire, they're all terrorist’s It doesn't matter how many of the missiles were fired, it's the intent to terrorize & kill that counts Point a gun at you local cop; find out how he will react for your pointing it at him
44. #18 Sarah B.
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.12.11)
I am not an engineer, however I would have checked the facts if I were he, it didn't entail any extra cost and very little additional time Nobody said he was a "Great Engineer", it just seems that he was the best they had, which made him great in their eyes
45. #21 Cameron
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.12.11)
Volunteer to replace him and find out IN the meantime, you might just want to bone up on how America spies on its friends
46. #33 OBSERVER/Baron Munchausen
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.12.11)
When and if Israel finds iit necessary, they will go in and destroy that store or rockets & most of Gaza in a day or two Cast Lead 2, will be a lot more thorough than Cast Lead 1 was, the only thing left in Gaza will be a large colony of Jukim
47. To: No. 36
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.12.11)
Israel is a sovereign state, which means it has an affirmative duty to protect and defend its citizens. The act of firing missiles is an act of deliberate terror. Where they fall is entirely irrelevant. The people in and around Sderot suffer from trauma -- the missile does not have to land on you to do its damage. For you to suggest otherwise shows a callous disregard for Israeli citizens that is beneath contempt. Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by every responsible country in the world. Do you mean to suggest that they are all wrong and? Finally -- it is not the fault of Israel that Hamas chooses to hide behind human shields. Neither is it the fault of Israel that Hamas chooses to cache weapons in residential areas, hospitals, schools and mosques -- thereby turning those residential areas, hospitals, schools and mosques into legitimate military targets. During Cast Lead, Israel took great pains to leaflet areas that were going to come under bombardment comfortably in advance of that bombardment. It is not the fault of Israel that Hamas refused to allow people to evacuate from those areas. Hamas is a terrorist organization. There is nothing that a terrorist prefers over a great big pile of dead bodies; especially children. Even their own. That's what makes them terrorists. I trust I have addressed your questions.
48. Fascinating -- Palestinkers never really do anything.
Scott ,   USA   (08.12.11)
They're all innocent. Those rockets just make themselves, launch themselves, everyone's innocent.
49. A classic freedom fighter
Oren ,   ישראל   (08.12.11)
Will have a street named after him just like our historic freedom fighters. Some of them were even PMs
50. #41 lebanon
solomon ,   bklyn   (08.12.11)
You use habara as a synonym for lies. It isn't. You are being fed lies by the likes of Hamas, Hezbollah, PA. You are the one eating it up happily. One day you'll choke on it; be careful.
51. Too neat
Ben ,   Florida, USA   (08.12.11)
I don't believe it. He was just picked up and spilled it all? Whose creation was this?
52. #41 - the assassination count of Arabs...
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
versus those of Israel really speak volumes. If the "Mossad silences people" so much as you say, why are the assassinations so small and most people are instead in prison where the death penalty does not exist? Un-proven accusations against the Mossad are not acceptable. As are your wet dream.
53. #35 - and many times Hamas has said they want peace
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
saying something and actually doing it are two vastly different things, especially among Arab Muslims...again, which they justify with Koranic verses.
54. #36 - as in law, it's all about intent
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
Did Israel intentionally target a school full of children? Of course not, and it was never proven otherwise. Does Hamas intentionally place their operations and large amount of weapons in and around civilian areas - hospitals and schools? You bet they do, and they publicly admit this is an operational intention. Did Arab terrorists intentionally target a school bus which has ZERO military value? Yep, and they celebrated it. Did Arab terrorists ambush a family, including a pregnant woman, and slaughter them all at point-blank range? Yep. Did they also slaughter a family in their sleep, which even Abbas tried to cover up, and was roundly celebrated by Hamas with candies and celebrations? Absolutely! That's a terrorist, my friend - by OUR definition and by the internationally-recognized definition. The fact that your ilk use human shields and refuse to provide shelters for civilians (mostly because you're storing weapons in their homes anyway), is the main reason you have high civilian deaths. On the other hand, we do not operate from civilian areas, and provide early-warning systems and shelters for our citizens...to preserve life. As Nasrallah said (and I assume you agree with ), "Jews value life while we welcome death. This is their weakness"
55. #33 - until Israel hits that rocket store house
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
like they did in the first hours of Cast Lead, destroying almost all Grads and medium range rockets, to the dismay of Iran, and Hamas who's leaders fled to a hospital basement for the duration.
56. #24 - problem is, Hamas wants ALL their top guys back
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
not just one or two. Perhaps you missed the actions of the glorious and honorable Hamas when they first presented a list of prisoners requested and they were filled with women, children, many male bomb-makers with long sentences, and elderly. That was for PR. They soon whittled that down to almost entirely adult male terrorists with tons of operational and technical experience in bomb making and terrorism. If they want 1000 terrorists for Shalit, why would one more in prison really matter? Besides, Israel would break Intl conventions by giving him up in a prisoner swap because he'd be tortured and killed before sundown.
57. #29 - so check out the photo with the article
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
he shaking someone's hand and he's standing....not exactly things a person with busted knee-caps or yanked fingernails can do. Your ilk always make accusations you just can't prove.
58. #30 - he left his family in Gaza for the sweet Ukrainian
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
not too sure he's going to care about what Hamas does to them. He was in Ukraine to hide out with his blond wife.
59. #31- he's definitely not innocent
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
but the piece you cited was definitely presented for him to read (maybe to poke Hamas in the eye)....indicating he also is not remorseful for the deaths his work has caused.
60. #34 - their assessment says many ran out of fear
William ,   Israel   (08.12.11)
First, that's good to know that the IDF still puts fear into the black hearts of these terrorists... Second, I imagine their fear was more to do with the lack of a child acting as their human shield.
