31. Power to the protesters!
R ,   Israel   (08.14.11)
You lucky TBs who have apartments and tons of money to buy more with, I so envy you. Just because a few of the leaders took a taxi one day doesn't mean this protest is not valid. We've worked long hours all our lives, don't own fancy cellphones, drive an old car and take the bus, and in general live frugally and if we hadn't bought our apartment closer to the periphery than to TA 20 years ago we'd have no chance of ever affording one. Our kids who served their country and work for a living have no chance of ever affording even a small apartment out here. $200,000 for 3 rooms is ridiculous. Power to the protesters!
32. How very True

You can also check their passports & you will find that most of the protesters have at-least travelled twice a year abroad."DON'T ASK WHAT THE COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU-ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY.-JFK
33. Yankele #27: What do youi propose?
Steve   (08.14.11)
Taken for granted, an unfair gap between rich and poor exists, what do you propose the government should do to correct it? Here in the US, Barack Obama exploits class warfare between 'haves' and 'have nots'. He wants to spread the wealth. Obama pits one American against another American. Is that what you want in Israel? A leader like Obama? Is Tzippi Livni Israel's savior?

There are vested interests that exaggerate the situation in order to bring down the government and are content to do nothing. There are those who seek to discredit the protestors by referring to them as anarchists and left-wingers. If as the media report that the discontent is widespread, encompassing Jews and Arabs as I witnessed yesterday in Beer Sheva, then attempts to minimize the problems are dishonest.
35. Yankle #34: How about some specifics?
Steve   (08.14.11)
For example, would you propose government redirect some of the funding it gives to yeshivahs to help alleviate the high cost of housing? Would you support an expanded building program of low-cost housing in Judea, Samaria in order to alleviate the housing crunch? I am looking for specifics. One of the common complaints is the lack of housing and / or the high cost of housing.
