One at a time. And each new one goes at the end of the line of already pending motions. And why does he have to be physically transported for each motion? Let his attorney be present; he can participate in the proceedings via video conference.
The first time I sat as a member of the jury I was struck by how time was spent on protocol, procedure and ritual. The case involved a young guy who snatched $20 from a woman's hand. It dragged out at least six hours of court time, including 20-30 minutes for "jury instructions".
