1. What is he an extremen lefty now ?
Haim ,   TA   (08.16.11)
Oh well there goes thar arguement to those right wing nutters that think its all a left wing conspiercy, which just goes to show how clueless and ignorant they are, funny i saw thousands of religious at the protest , guess the cost of living and housing shortage affects them as well.
2. Livni would sell her son to the devil to rule
norbus ,   Jerusalem   (08.16.11)
That woman, for whom I had some feelings , admiring her resolve on some issues seems desperate to rule at any price. including trashing her country to do so. Shame on you, woman.
3. What's Livni's salary?
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (08.16.11)
Here she is, the champion of the poor & oppressed, the down-trodden of society, savior (or is that savioress?) of the people. What a hypocrite. What an opportunist. Where was she a few years ago? Is Livni ready to forego her inflated salary, her perks, her unfair life-time pension that comes out of OUR pockets? Does she think we can't see through this ploy for political advantage? This is insulting - she thinks we're stupid. All of a sudden, she pops up like a wacked out jack-in-the-box wailing about ''social justice'' - something she just recently discovered. Livni - you're part of the problem, not part of the solution.
4. livni inciting mob rule
moron ,   galut   (08.16.11)
let her win an election outright--life will be harder in a socialist israel because the free stuff isnt free, beaurocracy and nannyism do not raise living standards and the left invites arab intransigence
5. For all supporters who say this is NOT left wing..
Rebecca ,   Modiin   (08.16.11)
Then why wont these protesters work with the government? The only thing they want is to bring the government down, and now is not the time.
6. Setting An Example of Courage
Yosef ,   Israel   (08.16.11)
If only the Rabbis of Beer Sheva, Ramat Gan, Haifa, Jerusalem, Modiin, and Shiloh would join the courageous Rabbi Lau in supporting the protests.
7. TO #2,3
Justinian ,   Israel   (08.16.11)
Livni and even Bibi are not what the protests are about. The quality of life for the majority of the inhabitants of Israel is the issue.
8. A relevant opposition would as alternative also
Joseph.E ,   Givatayim-Israel   (08.16.11)
come up w/ an independent committee of specialists to propose practical , viable solutions to the social-economic problems confronting the tents protesters growing movement . It is clearly evident that Kadima is no alternative to the Bibi ruling coalition .
9. zionism.
(a) wonder ,   a more free world.   (08.16.11)
this aticle deals with an internal zionistic affair, from which i really hope that it will end in a just and good way!
10. Livni DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for incorect
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (08.16.11)
privatisatin and economic overconcentration. In 1996 she was a Director of the state owned companies/monopolies Office, when the final corrupted sale took place.
11. Livni's salary response
Rochelle ,   Jerusalem   (08.16.11)
Livni's salary? look at all the other parasites that we are paying for, every governement clerk who does practically nothing and gets paid more than teachers, social workers and doctors. what about pensions for 45 year olds in army and all the perks they get for the rest of their lives that we are paying for............
12. The people wouldn't need to protest if
Michael   (08.16.11)
there was an opposition in the knesset doing its job.
13. non-political?
John   (08.16.11)
The article states, "Lau warned, however, that the protest would only succeed if it remained non-political." Social protest, politicians, religious figures, economics, threats and more... doesn't get more political that that.
14. The man in black............
Mike ,   Rehovot , Israel   (08.16.11)
Is a very well known money grubber.
15. Kol Hakavod Livni for staying in opposition....
jonathan ,   israel   (08.16.11)
... You have not gained popularity by doing so, but you have stuck with it. Showing the government up as it should be on all fronts. They have caused untold damage to the state of Israel in every arena. You should've been shouting louder than you have been!, but well done for all your efforts.
