1. Is there any credibility left in UN?
pasquinel ,   canada   (08.20.11)
Useless warmongers, talk about satanic slime, UN is the perfect example. What cruel hoax, and the left slathers their slime up, utterley disgusting. Stand firm PM Netanyahu.
2. israel
fad egypt   (08.20.11)
must pull out from the UN this a corrupt organization which is hijacked by a group of countries which have a very bad record in the human rights and are terrorism sponsors these countries are considered an automatic majority in the UN which always votes against israel and tries to delegitimize israel in the international arena the best solution is that israel pulls out from the UN and lets all the so called UN resolutions and international law go to hell because actually according to the international law israel has the rights to control judea and samaria and jerusalem and has the right as a soverign country to defend itself i dont know why the stupid egyptians (my people ) are angry last week the islamic palestinian terrorists stormed and occupied el arish and they bombed the police stations there and killed two oficers in the army and a civilian and each year a member of the center security is killed by fire came from gaza nobody opened his mouth or protested but now when two policemen are killed by mistake by the israeli apache while defending israel security along the borders all the people became angry it is unfair and hypocrisy why are all the nations against israel ? i am sorry israel for that but believe me one day the whole world will understand that you are the chosen people and that the land of israel belongs to the jewish people shalom
3. Since when did Lebanon have veto power?
Vlad   (08.20.11)
Just put it up to the vote and watch as only Lebanon votes against. As a non-permanent member of the UNSC, Lebanon cannot veto resolutions. And does anyone else find it odd that a tiny state with a fragile economy, tiny military, and a government thoroughly penetrated by terrorists like Lebanon can have a seat on the United Nations' most powerful body, but that Israel, a regional economic and military superpower, nuclear power, and democratic government is denied that same seat?
4. Why Wasn't Israel More Aware and Prepared ?
Dan ,   USA   (08.20.11)
Why should any Israeli or supporter of Israel care what happens in a United Nations where the deck is stacked against the Jewish state. What Israelis should be concerned about is the lack of readiness or foresight by the IDF leadership and Bibi's government. Playing politics at the expense of Jewish lives and the state itself is reason to call for new leasdership, at the highest level, in Israel.
5. #3: Joint statements in UNSC require unanimity
Joshua ,   Pittsburgh, PA USA   (08.20.11)
6. Hamas calls this a "massacre"?
Korem ,   New York, USA   (08.20.11)
If this is a massacre, then I pray there will be many more massacres to come, until all of Hamas is wiped out.
7. #2 Please take care and be careful with all the insane peopl
rachel ,   usa   (08.20.11)
people all around you !
8. UNITED NATIONS
DAVID ASLESON ,   MINNEAPOLIS USA   (08.20.11)
WHO IS THE UNITED NATIONS ? "united to who or what" ? what a joke. There will never be a Palestinian State. The United Nations are all nazi's
9. If Lebanon can call the shots at the UN then the
Harry Wright ,   UK   (08.20.11)
UN isn't worth a fart. Time for a non-Arab organization to be formed. There is a built-in handicap in the composition of members that is definitely detrimental to the western world. If the UN is dysfunctional then western nations should pull out...and to think that Obama wants the UN to have increased control over some US matters. No wonder more and more people believe that he is in the process of destroying the US
10. To number 3
Camron ,   Thailand   (08.20.11)
Is that same small army that gave the large Israel army sleepless night and defeats ..... You can never know what some can do until he does it .. Lebanon has spoken .. UN just up .lol No doubles anymore ,,no politicking around
11. Don't forget to pull yourself out of EU (Isreal )
Camron ,   Thailand   (08.20.11)
From there you will be treated as a lonely child poor you -
12. Get the UN Out of the US
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSA   (08.20.11)
To Dan: lets not equate the victims and the aggressors, which your comment does. Its like saying, Hitler's Crystal Night against the Germany Jews, was warranted in that Jews throughout Europe were despised for centuries. Apples and oranges. The Arab terrorist group invaded Israel's sovereignty...and targeted everyone. Had there been babies in those cars..well! Israel persuant to its right toself-defense, struck back, in what is really a no mans land. The Strip is not a country, or entity of any sort. But more importantly, this tells it al labout the UN AND the UNSC and UNGA. Virtally every proposal by Israel and her supporters, is knocked down somewho at tne UN, no matter the legitimacy. Bibi didn't kill those 8, the Arabs did. The fence completion is water beneath the bridge. It is (like Iron Dome), not foolproof. The UN is a meer debating society, composed of little and big mafias..some with more power than others. In every war against Israel, theUNdidnt act until Israel was "winning", as Sheen says. Why wasnt Turkeys recent strikes against the Kurds (60) in Iraq similarly alleged as a war crime? No Dan, Israel must do what it does. But as far as the UN, it is simply a joke, crap, and we give it our hard earned tax dollars. Like the Leagueof Nations, its a dismal failure. And what did one expect.?
13. To 1: No.
Scott ,   NY   (08.20.11)
How can Lebanon, a state that is filled with terror groups (having Hezbollah as a large part of there government) be allowed to be a member of the UN Security Council, but Israel is not allowed? The UN gives the international community a bad name, at best.
14. The end of UN usefulness
William ,   Israel   (08.20.11)
It appears, with the Arab takeover of the UN, that it's time has come to an end. When the UN, built on a mandate of justice and equality, can't even condemn a planned terror attack which targeted and killed innocent civilians, they really have no more reason to exist.
15. This is all a bunch of Syria-sponsored crap
Zvi   (08.20.11)
that attempts to derail emerging regional attempts to force Assad out. Damascus controls Hamas. Iran controls Hezbollah which controls an embarrassingly shameless Lebanese government. How many people did the Syrian regime murder over the last 3 days? Wake up.
16. The USA should cut all funding to UN
Matt1234 ,   USA   (08.20.11)
The USA should cut all funding to UN it would really help with the debt problems and really hurt terrorist. When Israel calls out the reserves of the Army you will see Lebanon scream then. Better get started Hamas has called off it's truce. Tanks needed at Gaza border
17. HAHA!
Naor ,   USA   (08.20.11)
The Arabs murder our nnocent citizens thru terrorism...and WE are the ones committing war crimes! The double standards against the Jews is so obvious it is laughable!
18. The UN Stinks to hi-heaven with allah presiding
Ron   (08.20.11)
The UN, modern day terrorists blessed by America, France, Italy, Spain,Portugal,Germany, the UK and other " civilized " people in name only; making preparation for another Inquisition - the Pope presiding. The UN where all is permitted, except condemn terror as long as it is Jewish blood. With gangsters the caliber of Lebanon, the killers of Hariri and 280 US marines, and a thug the fat pig named nasrallah, combined with other islamic savages, are thumbing their noses at civilization, a stupid one at that, what is one to expect?.Thank you, Obama, " master" of the free World. This UN should be renamed " la Bastille " a famed donjon in Paris retaken by free french ( of yesterday?). I also think that this corrupt, den of arabs should be retaken by US citizens with " balls "-- any left?, and show these bastards the shortest route to their slums, palaces in the rotten Middle East. The French of yesteryear got rid of their king; We should do the same with Ban ki moon and borrow the " gillotine " sitting iddle at the Louvres
19. The UN lost its legitimacy long ago
Mikey   (08.20.11)
It's being controlled by 3rd world countries and Muslim/Terror hub countries where the most atrocious events in the world happen, yet the UN fails to even begin dealing with those. It's time to disassemble this ludicrous organization and form a new organization - "The League of Democracies". Any country that wishes to join it will have to maintain the entrance requirements such as universal suffrage, Women Equality etc.
20. UN Special Tribunal Lebanon
JOHN   (08.20.11)
KICK LEBANON OUT OF UNSC SINCE IT IS IN VIOLATION OF THE UNSTL (SPECIAL TRIBUNAL LEBANON) WITH HEZBOLLAH IN CONTROL AND MAKING A MOCKERY OUT OF THE UNSTL.
21. UN, World Opinion, and Problem Solving
shlomo ,   USA   (08.20.11)
Remember, every time we suck up to world opinion, we lose. Instead of following a lose-lose scenario, Israel needs a big win even if it loses in the court of world opinion. I say solve the problem! Make Gaza go away, permanently!
22. Condemn !
Sagi   (08.20.11)
I am surprised that they didn't condone.
23. #3 Vlad
Mr.T ,   Hollywood   (08.20.11)
You are such an ignorant fool...Lebanon does not have veto power, but Lebanon today is the president of the security council and thus unlike Israel, what it has to say counts...
24. Who Cares What They Condemn?
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (08.20.11)
The UN has become an Islamic puppet. There is only one way to deal with deranged terrorists and Israel knows how to do it.
25. ...and some in the international organization responsible...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.20.11)
...for the preservation of peace and security, the UN, are ready to hand over to them a "state", a present, a gift for the many decades of death and distraction they brought upon the civilian population of a member state of the UN, Israel..., what a cynical world!!
26. Arab pretext for hate
Steven ,   San Francisco   (08.20.11)
The Arabs will turn anything upside down, will lie blatantly, will despise the truth, just so that they can exercise their hatred.
27. Why do we even bother with this organization,- beats me?!
tom ,   tel aviv   (08.20.11)
28. UN=United Nothing
Chaim ,   Arad   (08.20.11)
29. Lebanon by demanding equal condemnation . . .
noa ,   israel   (08.20.11)
denies a country the right to govern itself and defend itself against attacks. The UN by following suit does the same. Whether people like Israel or not is not really the issue. Israel is a member country of the UN, and as such, the UN must protect the right of countries to defend themselves when attacked.
30. So who are the real responsibles???
Yael Schlichting ,   Haifa - Israel   (08.20.11)
Why not taking out those who are playing the ugly? I would like to ask the question a little more precise: What is the responsibility of Abu Masen and Nabil Shaath and others? We all know that they are playing a double game. Another question is, if it really is more appropriate to take out a leader of a local terror cell? I mean, these guys are replaced within a few hours and the next one is hoping for martyrship soon, hamdullilah, while the big planners are sitting in there prestigious homes and seem to have nothing to fear. How many/much* innocent victims do we still need??? Do we need a single one??? *) many/much I have trouble to count the terror victims.
