Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (08.20.11)
All the bullshit about Arab springs that will never come invented by our specialist in the daily news, are just one thing:they are a war with Israel.. Wake up everyone, you are at war and would be foolish to give another name to the crab Arab spring ... The 6 day war?you remember? Arabs have new strategies,or better the Devil that guide arab terroris have a new strategy... Get the soldiers ready for the battle,no time to sleep ...get Hamas out of Gaza and let them run in the desert forever...

6. Here comes nothing
Bung ,   USA   (08.20.11)
#1 says "here comes Cast Lead 2. I suggest here comes nothing. This can only go so far before the USA cries foul, the UN does the same and then all will say "excessive force" by Israel. That will mean whatever little Israel does, and it will be little, will be too much according to the USA and Israel's hands will be stopped once again. The terrorist will win again. Mark this and see if I'm right or wrong.
7. Put a end to it now!!!!!!

8. re#1 in regards to your comment
yardena   (08.20.11)
It seems you expected too much from Iron Dome to prevent all of the murderous rockets-- there is no room for cynical sarcasm here As far as your prediction for Cast Lead 2, why dont you volunteer and come to israel and lend your mouthpiece to protect Israel? Is being a US couch potato safer talking big????
9. Black irony
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (08.20.11)
Rockets to Ashdod from Gaza and 3 palis are wounded. LOL Also, all the IDF's attacks in Gaza and you can't stop the rockets. They must have the launchers in private houses again. Sneaky bastards.
10. You should greatly fine
David ,   On this planet   (08.20.11)
That business who hires illegal Palestinians. Israel is not their welfare state , if they need work to feed their family they should get it from their leaders and any Israeli who hire them just to save money should serve time in jail.
11. why waste money?
moshe ,   Tivon   (08.20.11)
Iron Dome say $50,000/missile Grad say $250/missile 5.56 mm bullet $0.25/round moshe
12. ...and some in the international organization responsible...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.20.11)
...for the preservation of peace and security, the UN, are ready to hand over to them a "state", a present, a gift for the many decades of death and distraction they brought upon the civilian population of a member state of the UN, Israel..., what a cynical world!!
13. It is high time the UN member states rethought their...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.20.11)
...approach to the Arab Israeli conflict. Instead of trying to "fix" things, the UN member states should re-read their own excellent creation: UN Security Council Resolution, 242, and expect it to be implemented, as is. Enough with attempting to fool all of us around the world with the need for an additional state in the region. UN Security Council Resolution, 242, passed unanimously and accepted by all relevant parties, including the PLO, has been THE basis for reaching an accommodation of peaceful coexistence between Arab and Jew, between the Muslim-Arab world and the nation-state of the Jewish people, Israel. Yet, 242 doesn't call for the setting up of an additional state, nor does it even make use of concepts such as "Palestinians" or "Palestine". P.S. Give peace a chance, apply UN Security Council Resolution Resolution, 242, as is, now!!
14. Israel must act with aggression so as to thwart terrorists.
Daniel ,   Los Angeles, USA   (08.20.11)
Aggression is a 'clean' word which is often best used to describe the occasionally necessary measures required for self-preservation.
15. Poetic Justice
Mikey   (08.20.11)
The rockets Arab terrorists shoot towards civilians can't distinguish between the people, hence they seriously wounded some of their own (who illegally want to seek work in "evil" Israel and will be treated in Israeli hospitals).
16. What is a sufficient response?
Mladen Andrijasevic ,   Be'er Sheva, Israel   (08.20.11)
Only 45 minutes ago the sirens went off and the whole city took cover in shelters and safe rooms. So what is a sufficient response? It is one after which Hamas stops firing rockets at Israeli civilians. When will that happen and why would Hamas stop firing rockets at Israel? Hamas would do it when it is in accordance with Islamic teaching. Under their theology if the enemy is too strong they can proclaim hudna for 10 years and only after that period expires re-evaluate the possibility of continuing the jihad. But Hamas cannot wait for 10 years so they came up with the term tahdiah which lasts for one year. So the response should be such to make Hamas proclaim tahdiah. The IDF should calibrate accordingly.
17. So much for a peaceful Shabbat
Faith ,   Israel   (08.20.11)
Keep on bombing the hell out of them, until we finish the job. Go IDF!
18. Prayers
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (08.20.11)
Prayers for the south of Israel.
19. Bibi and Barak Hiding ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.20.11)
Still Waiting for the harsh response from the two clowns,or it it just more of the same empty threats ? Or is it that their boss is on vacation in Martha's Vineyard and they can'r get permissions to do much more than small restrained ,restrained, restrained, restrained operations ?
20. If Israel is going to take care of business
Arnovitz ,   Southeast, USA   (08.20.11)
If this latest escalation turns out to be a wider incursion into Gaza, I'm sure the brave members of the IDF will be prepared to take care of business. The more pressing issue is, will the government and its public relations efforts do a better job of exposing Hamas use of human shields and using mosques, schools, and homes as rocket launching pads. I for one cannot stomach another episode where the Palestinians get portrayed in the media as brave little freedom fighters, and Israel relents under the weight of international pressure before the military objectives get met. It's an insult to the soldiers who are risking their lives fighting and an insult to the citizens of the south who have to endure the constant terror.
21. With Ehud Barak...
BA ,   Sweden   (08.20.11)
... there is no hope for Israel's security. Or, maybe, IDF simply have lost its "it"?
22. @19
deckard   (08.20.11)
Well, you're right they're clowns, and especially that Barak guy, but what the enemies of Israel want is precisely some big escalation to prove that Palestine must be a "state" because Israel is so aggressive. It will not matter that the escalation came in response to the terrorist attack, that will be forgotten in the world media. They will only show Israel attacking "poor civilians" in Gaza. I think as much restraint as possible really is what is needed now. And any large scale operation should be planned well anyway.
23. The Time Has Come
Ken ,   Australia   (08.20.11)
Its time, Israel - destroy your enemies. Let them no longer be alive. Wipe them from the map, at every corner.
24. MUSH, is the name of Jerusalem's game
Ronald   (08.20.11)
To you # 10 - David. Jews don't give a sh...regarding hiring. If hamas came with a low price, he/she will be hired.; it's been going on forever. And let's forget about the UN. It only exist for the US convenience. Can you think of another reason for spending billions? Empty clowns for Barak and Bibi is correct. The iron dome can be overwhelmed in minutes with a barrage. The arabs have a point and missiles to prove it.
25. Divide and conquer
Baruch ,   Marin County, CA   (08.20.11)
In all likelihood, those protests over housing sent a message to Israel's enemies that the best time to strike is when the nation is perceived to be divided. Let this be a lesson that ones actions have consequences.
26. Don't worry,It's Baraks Harsh Response
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.20.11)
The missiles hitting Israeli cities is part of DM Baraks harsh response. He's keeping his word and targeting his enemy.Soon he will target the settlers again.
27. Time to occupy Gaza again
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.20.11)
28. Iron Dome is effective
Leslie Fraser ,   Ashkelon Israel   (08.20.11)
I live in Ashkelon and Iron Dome is INDEED effective and not a farce (as stated in another post). There are however too few and so it can not be at all places at all times. But when it's near by, it's WONDERFUL. I have lived here before we had it and after and the difference is awesome in my opinion and I hope we can afford many many more Iron Domes in the future.
29. what a strange coincedance that this is happening
(08.20.11)
