1. the Silence of Europe
leo ,   nyc   (08.21.11)
Yes it is Anti-Semitism that is at the base of all the anti-Israeli sentiment in Europe. If it were human rights, they would be out in the street today protesting the attempted manslaughter of Israelis by these rockets. Nothing has changed,,,
2. Turn the Settlers loose!
Mark ,   USA   (08.21.11)
If the IDF doesn't have the stomach to defend Israel, guaranteed the settlers do. It would seem that once again Israel is caught off guard and has paid a horrible price! Forget about restoring deterrence, go in and end Hamas..if need be create a corridor into Gaza and move the arabs out. And in closing, many thanks to Ariel Sharon.
3. Barak and Ganz should be fired ASAP. They are useless
Al   (08.21.11)
In fact the entire upper command of the IDF suffers from being PC stupid. Either effect an all out attack or lay down and die. 6 million Jewish lives are at stake here. You are about to enter a long protracted war of attrition. MR Netanyahu..the entire nation is looking to you for leadership. This is your moment..either save Israel or step down. This is aint no CNN sound bite..This is not a Hollywood moment. This is showtime..where the rubber hits the road. Keep a muzzle on your cabinet..Stop the useless statements by the morons in your Cabinet. Prime the IDF and let them do their work. God speed..We Jews all over the world are hoping and praying for a peaceful end, however the dogs of war must be unleashed now! God bless our soldiers.
4. Use the big stick.
Martin ,   Cairns, Australia   (08.21.11)
It is all very well to talk softly and carry a big stick.....but now is the time to USE the big stick. Use it long and hard. Islam understands nothing but violence. Any compromise is seen as weakness and encourages greater atrocities.
5. No worries
David ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.21.11)
GAZA will burn. Arabs will pay. HaRav Kahne was right!!!
6. Who Cares about September, Strike Now and Hard
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSA   (08.21.11)
Millions of Jew and Christians are getting sick and tired of the lies and perfidy and barbarism of the Jihadists ( call them Taliban, AlQaeda,Hamas/Hez/ Islamic Jihad, DFLP, PFLP, Al Aska Mosque Brigades, etc. They are all cut from the same cloth.. They scream "death to the Infidels and Jews". Every terrorist had, as a target, a Jew, or Jewish institution, from London, to Mumbai, to Tunisia, to NY. We are easy targets for them...we, being divided. Orthodox Jews vs secular, vs rich, vs poor..its all the same to them. The Islamists are the 21st century version of the German Police Battalions, SD, SA, SS, Einsatzgrupen, Sondercommando. Without any resistence, they murdered 2m in Russia alone. Few Jews fought back. Had the Jew been given guns, Uzis, grenades, explosives, airplanes, tanks, ...get my point. This is Bibis chance to show his mettle. to become a statesman, not just a politician. He must incorporate Ben Gurion, Shamir, Begin, Meir, Dayan, Peres (youth), go for the kill. Call on us, we will aid however we can. I am ready, as are my friends, by the thousands. To the IDF: strike hard and be ruthless, no mercy.
7. Why is hitting terrorist leaders in the second stage?
William ,   Israel   (08.21.11)
That should be the pre-first stage. In other words, NOW!! Then hit their warehouses, facilities, etc.
8. "Israel fears..."
Shlomo ,   Tel Aviv   (08.21.11)
Its time that I start packing for Europe...
9. This is the price of allowing the tunnels to exist freely.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.21.11)
10. Give gazans 1 hour!
Rickey ,   NY, NY USA   (08.21.11)
The solution is very simple. Give the gazans 1 hour to clear out of 10-15 miles from Israeli border...then level it and move in!
11. The Spirt of Wisdom
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (08.21.11)
May the spirit of wisdom rest on the shoulders of the Cabinet, Minister Netanyahu, Defence Minister Barak and the IDF Commanders. Prayers for the Holy Land.
12. Jews around the world
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (08.21.11)
... save your advice that Israel should be sending in it's soldiers. You and your families aren't the ones that do the fighting. You don't pay taxes here or have Ur asses On the line DO YOU?? So STFU!! You're allowed to stand on the side and watch as we fight, kill, get injured and die. Then you can write some talkbacks later telling us how we did.
13. Rocket fire was Iran's strategic action
William ,   Israel   (08.21.11)
Iran, the directors and paymasters of Hamas, ordered Hamas to fire multiple Grads (1) and multiple projectiles (Grads, mortars, qassams) at the same time (2) in order to test the limitations of the Iron Dome. When Iron Dome came out, it put Iran and Hamas into a tail-spin about losing a potential upper-hand. This seemed like a perfect time to test how many simultaneous rockets Iron Dome could deal with. How do we know it's Iran? Well, for one, Hamas is the only group who possesses Grads in Gaza; and two, Hamas leadership is in Egypt pushing for a reduction in tensions between them and Israel which clearly shows their local leadership is wary of a massive IDF retaliation.
14. Understand, that giving up territory is never a good idea.
(08.21.11)
Should consider occupying Gaza again, permanantly.
15. Thank you for disclosing IDF plans
Jerome ,   NZ   (08.21.11)
Hamas is already in bunkers and potential targets have been evacuated. Kudos to the media and IDF's big mouth
16. #12 It ain't right
Jerome ,   NZ   (08.21.11)
We did our bit. We fought and got injured too. We paid taxes and we interupted our businesses for 30 day reserve duty every year. The fact that we are abroad developing export markets does not make us less Israeli than Shenkin's cafes' dwellers.
17. Why is Israel the only exception in history?
Mladen Andrijasevic ,   Be'er Sheva, Israel   (08.21.11)
We just had a Grad rocket attack at 8: 00 a.m. Another day of sirens and the safe room. But the real question is why does Israel have to be the only exception in human history when we who are an overwhelming military power are not using it to stop rocket attacks on our own civilian population. We invent Iron Domes, build shelters and safe rooms and at the same time provide electricity and send supplies to the Gaza Strip from where the Grad rockets originate. It is quite bizarre to say the least. This of course does not mean that Israel has to react the way Britain did during the Blitz and the V1 and V2 attacks and create another Dresden, but surely the number of targeted Hamas terror infrastructure targets could be increased by an order of magnitude.
18. This is the result of a "job not done"
DT ,   TA Israel   (08.21.11)
by useless "quarter measures" such as Cast Lead. Barak should have gone ages ago and Netanyahu is utterly weak
19. Destroy the tunnels!
Alexandre Chinovich   (08.21.11)
Why do we allow them to use their tunnels in the south? Why don't our army enter Rafah and destroy them?
20. Turn Gaza into charcoal.
Vlad   (08.21.11)
That'll restore "deterrence".
21. Is Bibi losing his nerve?
Rachel ,   US   (08.21.11)
22. #17
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (08.21.11)
When the IRA was attacking London, the British Military was ordered not to bomb Ireland and therefore not to enter in a spiral of violence. Be smarter than your assailant
23. Only one stage is needed
Tomy ,   Israel   (08.21.11)
The total, full retaking of entire Gaza strip with the elimination of Hamas and other Islamic terrorists later.
24. Escalation
Camponuevo ,   Europe   (08.21.11)
Gil, I agree 100%. However, you must be symmetrical. No more diplomatic cover. No more fund raising. Enjoy the beach. Best,
25. #17 Mladen, Beersheva.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (08.21.11)
What's wrong with Dresden?
26. 16
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (08.21.11)
I didn't say "Ex-pat Israelis around the world" did I? I think you know who I am talking about - those Jews that come to Israel for Bar Mitzvah's and 2 week holidays at the Hilton hhotel. Its those armchair generals that have no right banging the drum of war.. By the way, lets be honest, your private business affairs are nothing to do with helping Israel. Hope the snow is not too cold for you.

tiki ,   belgium   (08.21.11)
"quite bizarre" . You 'must be joking, it's the 'under statement of the year! It's 'completely and utterly ridiculous, ludicrous & scandalous how the IL governement let it's population live under an 'umbrella of rockets for years now. It's 'unheard of and NO country in the world would accept this! All this for "not to offend the world and enrage the Muslims". Instead of waisting time over "mulling if to (not) appology to Turky or Egypt or to every other moron with a grievance, Israel has to strike and strike hard and finish the job, once and fo all! Only than she will have some quit in the neigbourhood & R E S P E C T! Apaisement will not work, it never did!
28. The silence of the NGOs
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (08.21.11)
The double standard continues. Palestinians commit war crimes, and the alleged "human rights" organizations are silent. Yes - Investigate their funding. In fact, investigate why they are in fact only "Arab rights" organizations that ignore war crimes against Israel. If necessary, close them down since they are obviously not "human rights" groups but pro-Arab or anti-Israel lobbying groups. Don't believe me? Take it directly from Amnesty International: "Whether or not attacks actually result in civilian casualties, they are in violation of international law, which also prohibits attacks aimed at spreading terror among the civilian population. The patterns of attacks and statements by members and leaders of Palestinian groups also indicate that they have no qualms about launching attacks against civilians and that they in fact carry out such attacks intending to kill and injure Israeli civilians. Such attacks constitute war crimes." Amnesty International report:ISRAEL/GAZA OPERATION ‘CAST LEAD’:22 DAYS OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION July 2, 2009
29. here here # 27
eitan ,   israel   (08.21.11)
