You have the power to do so. I pray for Israel.

Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (08.25.11)

Emma ,   London   (08.25.11)

5. Do it Already, Dammit!
Jake Goldstein ,   ISRAEL   (08.25.11)
What are you waiting for?? There will never be a "perfect" hour to retaliate. The time has come to put the lives of your CITIZENS before world opinion. The God of Israel is right there behind you. Go for it.
6. Terror rockets prompt Israel's military response.
Daniel ,   Los Angeles, USA   (08.25.11)
As long as rockets and mortar rounds fall on Israel, the IDF/IAF are justified in sharpening their targeting skills using live ammunition on terror members and their infrastructure.
7. Easy -
Ralph Haglund ,   Lund, Sweden   (08.25.11)
Switch Barak for Ya'alon and then block the Philadelphi Corridor, as Israel has the right to since Oslo. What then - ask me again.

(08.25.11)

Gaza teacher ,   Gaza   (08.25.11)
for everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. admittedly , if you poll gaza people , 90% will say we are against the rockets, but ........................ (( complete the gaps urself ))
10. to #3 Yes, they can and should
A ,   Belgium   (08.25.11)
respond, and harshly. However certain senior and very important members of the government...and I wont say the Prime Minister and Defense (what a laugh!) Minister ...do not ALLOW the military to respond in an effective way. Thats why Israelis are still running for shelters and babies (and others) are getting hurt.
11. Our hands are tied
Golani ,   Vineland, USA/Israel   (08.25.11)
Our hands are tied until after September 20th. It is a very difficult situation for Israel, but there are politics involved. The problem is that the "bad guys" know this as well and they are taking advantage of the situation. Hopefully the escalation will not become out of control. The bad guys should be careful because after September 20th, our hands are free, and then you will pay dearly with a very justified massive response.
12. Gaza teacher, understood
Linichka ,   Gdynia, Poland   (08.25.11)
90% of you are against the rockets, but - you haven't the balls to work against them. Or even speak against them! Poor meek little sheep.
13. I am beginning to believe those that post...
Avi ,   Israel   (08.25.11)
That the Iron Dome crew are the first to run for cover...
14. ENOUGH ALREADY
Ricnard ,   Boca Raton, USA   (08.25.11)
As an American Jew I am disgusted with the no-response by the IDF to the pounding the Negev and Israelies are getting. Where are the MEN. DEFEND YOUR PEOPLE AND FORGET ABOUT THE USA, EU, AND UN - they will not help the Jews. To the pinhead Gazan who said they will be annoying the Israelies forever -- tell me that when the heap of crap called Gaza is turned into a parking lot. Keep pushing us!!
15.  two more bodies in a tunnel
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.25.11)
Turning Gaza into a graveyard will bring peace to Israel.
16. Lets do this already guys!!
L from I ,   Israel   (08.25.11)
We have nothing to lose, only to gain. They want war, lets give it to them, but this time, lets do it all the way, lets not worry about world condemnation - its gonna happen anyway (though secretly we know the world will be so relieved if we do it - they want us to do it cuz they are too afraid of doing it themselves). DO IT ALREADY!! IM BEGGING YOU!
17. Thank's Bibi for de escalation of the escalation
bob   (08.25.11)
Islamic jihad does not seek an escalation. Thank you Bibi for having an eloquent response to this offer while their rockets keep toring up the land and it's people.
18. #9, ...will remain forever stupid.
Mikey   (08.25.11)
With teachers like you.
19. Hit the gaza infrastructure as well as the
jason white ,   afula, israel   (08.25.11)
civilian population. bibi and the coward barak should be replaces, the same goes for zippy the pin head livni and moo-saz!
20. THESE GUYS ARE FUNNY
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.25.11)
Why does the paper keep talking about a ceasefire? When did Israel agree to any ceasefire? BTW, is Israel suppose to absorb a terrorist attack that kills 9 people, then lose the right to fight back, because the group that committed the terrorism, said that want a ceasefire? Should we make that the new rules for all the countries in the world? That way the terrorists can kill people around the world, immediately declare a ceasefire and avoid any repercussions. How does that sound? Pretty cool for the terrorist groups, not so good for the Democracies around the world. So save the ceasefire crap, the Palestinians are not abiding by any ceasefire, there has BEEN NO lull in any ceasefire. If your going to write an article print what actually happened. The Palestinians are killing Jewish civilians like they always have done. But here is the most hilarious remark made by the Pal leader a-Nahala ""we won't agree to a cease-fire in which only one side holds its fire nor will we be committed to a calm as we are attacked." Except that is what the Palestinians expect the Israeli's to do, isn't it?
21. My sincerest apologies to....
GideonReader ,   USA   (08.25.11)
...the Israel based Ynet "Talkback" person, who the other day used a wonderful expression. I regret that I forget that person's name.(I hope he reminds me) but his short and pithy comment has stayed with me. Regarding a solution to incoming missile fire from Gaza and beyond, he, the Back talk person suggest that Israel "Blow them to dust.". Blow them to dust. Wonderfuly expressed and totally warranted. Bought and paid for. Signed and sealed. Earned in good faith by their (the Palestinian's)'turn of bad faith. Yes. By all and any means. Blow them to dust!!! Repeat as necessary, if more than a hostile mote remains.
22. Gaza Has Declared War
Dan ,   Florida   (08.25.11)
With a defacto a declaration of war, why does Gaza still exist? Why would we negotiate with Palestinians at all. The East bank is theirs and we own Judea and Samaria. Jerusalem is our UNDIVIDED Capitol.
23. IDF is useless without real strategy and full power
(08.25.11)
24. #13 - I've never read this nonsense - are you pretending?
michael redbourn ,   arad isarel   (08.25.11)
The Iron Dome works very well as do the people that operate it. The problems is that there are not yet enough Iron Domes. You make it sound like you're quoting something that's well known. I'm a news-hound and haven't read anything about Iron Dome Crews running away. Why would they? The rockets are not aimed at them. Seem like you're pretending to be somebody that you're not.
25. # 9 Intellectual ignorance and arrogance are not a virtue
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (08.25.11)
From a spiritual point of view I do not divide people of Jews, Christians, Muslims, etc. Good and bad people are equally distributed around the world, but with a different culture. When an event happens, I have no affiliation towards one side or another, but seek causality. Because I’m worried in what kind of world I live and what would be this world for my children. Where are you thinking that you live, on a Saturn? I do not know what lie you children in school, but I have news for you – palestinian nation is the product of political developments and the Cold War. You slept in 20th century. Politics is not an emotional activity, and the choice of the lesser evil.
26. Please make your voice heard
melissa ,   istanbul   (08.25.11)
No more killing civilians. This is a war crime. Please urge your goverment to stop it.
27. to 9.
Jennie ,   Us/Israel   (08.25.11)
No they won't. They'll be sent back to where they came from : Jordan, Egypt, etc... You are the teacher, you should know that much...
28. Obviously, food deliveries to Gaza must cease until its safe
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (08.25.11)
Israel can not be expected to continue food and commercial deliveries to Gaza as long as Gazans are shooting rockets that damage the crossings and endanger the lives of truck drivers and their families. Likewise, electricity to Gaza from the Ashkelon power plant can not continue as long as gazans are firing at the workers there and endangering them and their families nearby. And water supply can not continue until local Mekorot workers and their families are safe from rocket fire. No international law anywhere requires Israel to keep supply these things to an entity that is actively firing on them. And Israel does not need to "pay" anything politically or otherwise for a rocket cease fire, since Gaza firing random rockets into Israeli civilian areas is a clearly-defined war crime that must be ended unconditionally. The reason Israel does not use this immense and lawful leverage it has on Gaza, or step up its destruction of terrorist infrastructure to destroy it all at once instead of tit-for-tat, one factory and tunnel at a time, is spelled B-A-R-A-K. The country can no longer tolerate this expression of his legendary ineptitude (this is the guy who wanted to apologize to Egypt before it was revealed that Egyptians carried out the Eilat attack, dressed in Egyptian army uniforms, let across the border by Egyptian border post soldiers, who then fired on Israeli soldiers fighting the terrorists).
29. the conflict in western-asia.
sjoerd ruurd van der ,   life/mankindland.   (08.26.11)
both sides are to blame for the continuation of the conflict/crisis-situation, which already lasts since the 19th. century. i do not want to bring any sympathy for the 2 parties. both have to learn about stability and peace, for example by the united nations organization. thanks to the un (recognition in 1948) and us-aid since then, still the veto-possibility and permanent membership of the us in the un-security council , (revisionist and fundamental religious) zionism can still exist. the un and the people of humanity/mankind has a job/duty to do to get stability and peace in the western-asian world-region.
30. barak and gantz
mohson   (08.25.11)
fire israeli equivalent grad rockets into supected hamas offices and depots as well as gas stations and power grids. Gantz, take charge and stop being morose. As for tal russo, one more mistake and you are out. Barak, do israel a favour and step down.
