1. Very Interesting Opportunity
meir elazar   (08.26.11)
Imagine if Israel and USA provided advisors to help craft a constitution that found the correct balance between democracy and Israel while respecting other religions. Furthermore, advisors from USA and Israel might help design the government structure including all necessary agencies. The government might have protections built in to prevent the corruptions and abuses found in virtually every Arab government. It might also have social, economic, and education programs to help promote the quality of life in Libya. In short it might pioneer the first government model in the Arab world that could be accepted by the world at large. In light of what Israel has accomplished until now and what Israel has to gain by demonstrating what harmony and cooperation can do to the region, this is not far fetcehed. Today the majority of Arabs are driven by mindless hatred towards Israel, Israelis, and Jews. The destruction of Israel is more important to them than replacing the falsehoods and hatreds that drive them with factual history and opportunities to strive for peace. Abba Eben once said that "The Arabs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity". The problem today is that we no longer have the quality leadership we once had. We cannot trust idiots like Barak and Livni. Bibi is also a disappointment. But if this opportunity arises, it must not be squandered. A significant success here could have a dramatic impact not only on the Arab governments and people but might also cause major damage to Radical Islam and Terrorism thus helping the entire world.
2. Ask Jewish State for Intl Support?
William ,   Israel   (08.26.11)
Well, first, it appears we have no real pull in the Intl Community who provides billions of dollars to Arab war criminals and create record resolutions primarily against us. Second, are you sure you want our help after you sold tons of Gaddafi's weapons to intl terrorists including Hizbullah and Hamas, who target our civilians?
3. Recognize Israel first. Then we'll talk.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.26.11)
Libyans will be surprised by how generous Israel can be to a friendly country. But Israel would be foolish to help a group that will turn and spit on her after they get what they want.
4. Too good to be true?
Roman ,   Moraga, US   (08.26.11)
Not sure if I can believe this, but one never knows.
5. DON'T DO IT!

7. WOW -that is news.END.
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (08.26.11)
8. The Libyans would NEVER allow this
OJLeb ,   Canada   (08.26.11)
The Rebels would lose all support if they ally themselves with Israel. Besides, before this one of the rebels said they are coming for Palestine next. Can't do both.
9. Libyan Independence
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.26.11)
First they have to stop the arms smuggling before we are willing to talk to them. I am close to all the top leadership and will sit and discuss whether we will agree to this request.Usually that means inviting the rebels for tea and biscuits in the Knesset. Lets see if they agree to that!! Thanks again to all my fans for your support and for liking my posts.
10. This is nothing but a ploy....
Adam ,   Golan Heights Israel   (08.26.11)
...to secure more western "aid" by making nice to Israel. These alqaeda terrorists have been selling weapons to hammas openly for the past 6 months.
11. The post at No. 9 is not mine
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.26.11)
Believe it or not, I am actually coherent and fluent in the English language; something the imposter has yet to learn. Gee -- the imposter might want to consider actually getting a life.
12. Libyan rebels = Islamic extremists!
Jayjay ,   Israel   (08.26.11)
DOnt be fooled...this offer will backfire if ISrael starts to support them.

plod   (08.26.11)
the rebels asked Israel to help garner international support for the new leadership. There is a huge difference between that and asking Israel to tell them how to run their own country.
17. Baloney
Susya Bar Dror ,   IL   (08.26.11)
I have not seen this information in any other news media. I believe its the usual nonsense from 3rd rate newspeople. Further to that, the libyan "rebels" are not friendly with non-muslims. They will receive political help most likely from the EU. And the EU is definitely better than Israel. Israel is a country which cannot solve its own problems.
18. It's getting curiouser and curiouser
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (08.26.11)
is it the Israeli advice or is it a trap for the Israeli's?? I don't believe any muslim. That's what their 'religion' dictates, lies are fine when told to non muslims.
19. dont be deceived right away by these rebels asking 4 israel
anna ,   spain   (08.26.11)
support..we will never know their hidden agenda..im not saying that we should not bilieve them but it can be be because they want america and israel to bilieve that they will not turn againts us..hence we will not hinder them from ruling libya
20. A gamble but worth taking....
Froike ,   NY NY   (08.26.11)
This could be a great investment opportunity to put a partially "sane" government together in Libya. The US blew an opportunity like this POST WW2 with Communist China.... Strike while the iron is hot....
21. reply to #1, clarification#9
daze ,   US   (08.26.11)
Overly optimistic prattle, but you did get one thing right, arabs will always have mindless hatred towards Israel and Jews. Thats the way it is. Think about it, heighth of arab accomplishment is not in biomed or hitech development, but in shimmying up a flagpole to tear down the Israeli flag. That schlub is a national hero. Clarification:The post at #9 is a phony the real Sarah B. does enough posts you ought to be able tell the difference
22. Don't rush to judgement...this may be an opportunity
moshe ,   Tivon, Israel   (08.26.11)
I can't believe the short sightedness of so many readers. Yes, Israel must be suspicious , VERY suspicious of peaceful , fruitful proposals made by Libyan rebels to Israel. Weigh everything carefully, only a fool would assume that the "Arab Spring" is a negative thing. Slowly,...consider...gather facts...then decide. Unlike others, why should Israel miss an opportunity ? ! moshe

25. WOW,STRANGE STORY BUT...
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.26.11)
Definitely one of the strangest stories I've read in a long time. Completely counter-intuitive to what anybody would expect. I've been under the impression, especially with the perceived pro-Western countries, that one of the glues for those protests, was their long taught hatred towards Israel. The biggest gripe seemed to be...at least to me...was that their governments were to friendly with Israel (not that Libya fell into that category). So to say this story is a shock to me, would be an understatement. I believe a friendship with Israel would benefit any and all Arab countries. Simply because Israel is much further advanced then any of those countries. Yet they seem unwilling...because of a long taught unreasonable hatred...to want to have a better life through peace. The Arabs have pursued the destruction of a country that only has less than 2/10ths of ONE PERCENT of all the land in the Middle East. To have total control over 99.8% of ALL the land in the Middle East is NOT ENOUGH for the Arabs. Muslims want the last tiny bit, 2/10ths (0.2%) of ONE PERCENT (1%). Plus were told that will bring world peace? Anybody believe that nonsense?

BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.26.11)
Kadaffy is known to have had vast stores of arms, RPG'S, Mustard Gas and many other implements of destruction Where are they now and who is getting them ? Word is that some of the gear has already wound up in Gaza
