1. USA
Abdalaziz ,   Rafah, Palestine   (08.26.11)
I think the United States should be more supportive to end the biggest conflict in the ME ... but we're going for that bid disregarding of any warnings because it's the best solution, unless israelis like the idea of erasing Israel off of the map ..
2. To The Hell.
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.26.11)
3. No aid to racist, terrorist muslims!
Don Rosenberg ,   Palatine USA   (08.26.11)
As an American Jew, seeing my money supporting these racists and baby killers is sickening and should have stopped years ago. These arabs should be relocated to palest.... their homeland, aka jordan. They deserve state like the taliban or al qaeda should. Stop the Stupidity NOW!!
4. How will this help Israel?
American Jew ,   New Jersey, USA   (08.26.11)
Let's see, several $billions/year for the past plus future decades for Israel which has the 27th highest GDP/capita of 200 countries, and stop a recent few $100millions to 60 year occupied Palestinians helps Israel? Not rational, smart or sustainable for Israel in the mid/loong run ...
5. 18 years too late
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.26.11)
The US should have ended assistance to the Palestinian Terrorist Authority long, long ago. They would have shriveled up and been swept away with the wind and there would be peace.
6. u dont miss saudi arabia
juda zion ,   zion   (08.26.11)
there is no place like home
7. No, Abbas/Erikat regime serves Jewish occupation
Linda ,   USA   (08.26.11)
Abbas/Erikat corrupt and expired regime serves Jewish occupation, protect Jewish settlers, damages Palestinian cause, and oppress Palestinians; US and Israel will continue to support that regime. Besides US has no word in all of this: if Jewish lobby/Israel says pay, US will pay; if Jewish lobby/Israel says don't pay, US will cut funds.
8. The Arabs of Eretz Israel (Land of Israel) have two options:
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (08.26.11)
1) Have the UN accept "Palestine" as a "state", and suffer the consequences, e.g. cutting of financial assistance, the application of Israeli law in Areas B and Cs, the total cutting off of Gaza from any supplies and any movement through its border from Israel. 2) Accept Israel's right to be, to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people, come to the table and start talking, in good faith, clean hands and without any preconditions. And, at the end, accept a peace treaty as the end of the conflict with Israel and the end of all future demands. The Muslim-Arabs of Eretz Israel (Land of Israel) do have the choice and it is for them to make it.
9. where are the israeli threats for the UN bid
izzie irgun ,   zion   (08.26.11)
Its nice of the US to tell the PA what the consquences of their fool hardy UN vote will be but where is Israels response. Why doesn't bibi come out and tell the PA that he will cut off tax revenue, halt issuing work permits and declare the Oslo Accords dead if they seek the un vote. Then Israel should announce that the West Bank will also be held acountable for any terror attacks. Finally, Israel should tell the world in no uncertain terms that the UN vote for a plaestianin state means that all palestinian refugess now have a place to call home ... and it ain't Israel.
10. Brilliant Policy
Mark ben Josuf ,   USA   (08.26.11)
By going along with the parasites in Congress, the Administration does two things: transfers the responsibility for Palestinian governance back to Israel since the two-state resolution is so unlikely, and the US saves money for our budget. US aid only was in anticipation of a state of Palestine. If that is not going to happen, there is no point to the aid.. Second, as happened in 2006, Israel will have to choose, anarchy, take back governance, or allow Iran and Hamas to govern. Nobody bailed out the US on its Iraq costs. That drove some tough choices for the US and for Iraqis. Israel and Palestinians will finally have the same stark choices.
11. While The u.s Is At It Cut Aid To All
(08.26.11)
arab countries ASAP. We need the Gelt in The U.S.A. !!! We have staving children and Adults here in Most Major Cites , especially in the South like Alabama. Baruch Hashem/ Shabat Shalom
12. #1 Afwan There Is No Conflict You
(08.26.11)
arabs Want What Was Never Yours, and You Can't and Won't Aknowledge Israel For Who we were, are and will be. So your so-called conflict was CREATED by arabs just like YOU. But be Honest for once You refer to The Israeli's as the Ememy/ Zionest Entity and NEVER EVER Keep your word about anything. Until you arabs Come Clean about Jewish Ancestory and Jersulem as the Eternal Capital Of The Ancient Hebrew/Jewish people. You will Never be Trusted at your word, BECAUSE your arabs words Mean NOTHING. salem alechem Baruch Hashem/Shabat Shalom
13. #4, really why?
Danny   (08.26.11)
You know it is not a few hundred million right? That is direct economic aid to the PA. You know how much economic aid Israel gets from the US? Yeap thats right, zero.
14. #1
Paolo ,   Israel   (08.26.11)
unless Israel, unless Israel, unless Israel... do you have the feeling you are always eligible to dictate conditions? you've had your opportunity already, and you've miserably lost it! So, stay quite...
15. how to get a country free of charge via suckers.
joey   (08.26.11)
Saeb Erekat; palestinians (they are called) are planning a mass demonstration here and abroad for wanting a state they never lived there, never was theirs, no one lived in it, never had a flag, a govt, a police or army, NEVER worked for a living, But always robbed, killed, pillaged; no school, no hospital, no govt office. Now after becoming the # 1 beggars ( schnorrer ) par excellence on the planet. and accumulate personal wealth (stolen) from stupid Europe and America, they decided to to steal a country again via the ( schnorring ) as the proper time has arrived. AND stupid Israel agreed.
16. #1 - speaking of "wiping Israel off the map"
William ,   Israel   (08.26.11)
You live in Gaza - the place where the majority of residents voted for Hamas who's charter is to ethnically cleanse Jews and wipe out their homeland (and any ties to it). Hamas also vocally rejects the PA's UN bid next month. You're hardly in a position to claim the need for a "Palestinian" State to foster peace. In every instance where "Palestinians" have gotten the opportunity for a State and peace, you've always said it was a step to destroying Israel and staling land that was never your's to begin with. Am I missing something in your short-lived history as a people?
17. #2 - I think the US has finally gotten tired...
William ,   Israel   (08.26.11)
of uncovering terrorists groups around the world and finding several "Palestinians" as key members. I know for sure that 100% of Americans are pissed off at your guys for bringing so many airline hijackings to the world that a simple flight requires hours of preceeding prep time.
18. If the US really wants to make a difference...
William ,   Israel   (08.26.11)
instead of ending aid to the PA, they should end aid to UNWRA. Guaranteed, there will be peace in the Middle East in one week.
19. Salma.....
Dana Rothschild ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.26.11)
your dreams, that the world will keep you up are shattered, aren't they??? gooooood.... maybe at last you will start thinking, instead of bragging about an "independent and free Palestine"... you are depending on everybody...
20. associated press- "us warns...."
sjoerd ruurd van der ,   life/mankindland etc   (08.26.11)
instead of easily, usualy, one-sided, us-nationally ,unilaterarily criticizing the palestinian people( always), the present us-administration should first take care of it"s own present financial-economic, problematic situation and it should change the dictatorship of the un-security council, with 5 permanent, idiotic memberships, with the ridiculous right of veto, which is an insult/crime to the rest of the world-population/to the people of humanity/mankind, into a stengethened and democratized/democratic un-general assembly/ (the un-security council can be brought into the un-general assembly) united nations organization. then let us talk again, to do, it is to be hoped, better and more just business.
21. US supports a Jewish state. Pals reject it.
Sam ,   Canada   (08.26.11)
The intention of the US these many years in supporting the peace process is to have a Jewish state and a Palestinian state. While receiving US benefits, the Palestinians reject a Jewish state and are trying to get a state at the UN while avoiding the American support for a Jewish state. The Palestinians have not been sincere with the US and don't deserve US support or EU support.
22. To No 1, Abdal a zizi
Gabe ,   Canada   (08.26.11)
You would bite off your own tongue if you would know what is in store for you and for your fellow dements.
23. Finally, Obama does something brave
Falafelis ,   Montreal, Canada   (08.26.11)
24. hahaaha no prob
abdullah ,   kuwait   (08.26.11)
if the usa does that,,the gulf countries have more money than the usa and half of the world combined ,,so we will continue giving them aid and they wont need any from the usa
25. # 1 Abdalaziz
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (08.26.11)
We never should have given you welfare queens any money in the first place. You will never be able to stand on your own feet unless others are propping you up. As for erasing Israel off the map....there are not enough arabs/muslims on this planet to do the job. Why give a people a state that are incapable of running one.
26. #2: To the hell? Ha ha ha! What does that mean?
Israeli 2   (08.26.11)
You mean to the hell of Palestine? Please clarify.
27. That $470 mill is just a fraction of what US gives the Pals.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.26.11)
In addition to the $470 million given directly to the PA (much of it rerouted to Hamas-run Gaza), the US routes hundreds of millions indirectly through NGOs and the UN (US is largest funder of UNRWA), to train the Dayton forces, etc. That also doesn't cover one-time grants like the $200 million promised by Clinton to help close the PA budget gap. (She forgets we've got an even bigger gap back home.) I note the AP added the nonsensical claim that "The statehood initiative reflects frustration with long stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations." Wrong! It reflects an attempt to *bypass* those negotiations and thereby get everything they want without any concessions to Israel.
28. Again. Yawn.
Chaim ,   Arad   (08.26.11)
29. Hypocrisy of Israel
David ,   Brisbane, Australia   (08.27.11)
Modern Israel came into existence only by its unilateral declaration of statehood by hiding behind the UN. The Arabs want to do the exact same but now Israel and the US say they have no right. Hypocricy of the highest level. Truly the Israelis and Palestinians originate from the same source.
30. #24 abdullah - problem
solomon ,   bklyn   (08.27.11)
The gulf countries have promised aid to the PA time and again, and have never delivered. That shows their true 'concern'. What makes you think it will be any different now?
