1. Take the Money and Run
Jake in Jerusalem ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.29.11)
This is no way to build a country, industry or economy. Take the Money and Run??? Israelis are so prone to cooking up ideas and finding someone to sell it to quickly. Instead of holding onto their businesses and growing them, creating jobs, building business connections, strengthening the economy, the tax base and their own society (and even becoming truly wealthy), Israelis tend to prefer to sell out - as quickly as possible. (Checkpoint and Teva are notable exceptions.) Where would Apple, Google, Intel and others be if they had been started by Israeli quick-profiteers? Israel would be so much better off if Israelis would be more interested in the future, instead of the profits of the immediate present. Steve Jobs, Andy Grove, Sergey Brin, Larry Page and Gil Shwed haven't done so bad. They weren't greedy and still made it big - and benefited many other people at the same time.
