Glen Beck at times will use his airtime to urge people to buy the things of which he is personally invested. For example, he pushed the idea of buying gold on his tv show while at the same time he partnered with the sellers of gold and became their de facto mouthpiece.

The hurricane and all the death and other damage can be a blessing if you are prepared to learn personal lessons from the tragedies. Next time, it could be your son or daughter who dies, your family that has no food or medicine when they need it. That is what Glenn is saying. The chief difference between the smart people and the stupid people is that there is a limit to how smart anyone can be but there is, OBVIOUSLY FROM SO MANY COMMENTS HERE, no limit to how stupid people can be. Look at the hurricane that hit New Orleans. Did you learn anything from all the people that did nothing, had nothing, still have nothing and figure they are victims because they refused to do anything for themselves. This hurricane is a reminder. There will be other reminders, other warnings, other opportunities to learn and fewer and fewer opportunities to prepare well ahead while it is easy and cheap to do. If the "forever wannabe dumb" refuse to do anything for themselves, they may hope and pray that other people who were not so stupid actually took the warnings to heart, set side enough supplies for them and to spare and choose to help the idiots out bu I would strongly urge them prepared people to make the people they help do some appropriate value of work in return for the help they give rather than give it to you for nothing.

Why is it so easy to talk about disasters as if they are a punishment or warning from god. Is it not possible that as we brutalize our planet we might be upsetting some of the natural control mechanism of the planet and might that not be a more realistic explanation than crediting a supernatural force?
