1. This is why they are artists and not statesmen
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (08.28.11)
Because they live in a world of fantasy- not reality.
2. Sometimes you would wish
Tal ,   Petach Tiqva   (08.28.11)
.....that politicians had the power of imagination that artists have. But, I am afraid most of them are stuck in their narrow-minded political agendas.
3. Intellectuals? That's an oxymoron!
Claudia USA ,   Tampa FL   (08.28.11)
Must be self-proclaimed, as they ignore reality and history, just how brilliant can they be?
4. I back a palestinian state, it is called Jordan, they can go
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (08.28.11)
there and be with there own kind and not be "occupied" as they say they are.
5. In a true Democracy anyone describing him/herself an
tom ,   tel aviv   (08.28.11)
"intellectual" should automatically be stripped off their right to vote in elections. Other than that, they're welcome to publish their diminished brain's products as they deem fit.....
6. Amen to #'s 1 through 5
Moshe ,   Usa   (08.28.11)
7. Another terrorist state
michaelpielet ,   boca raton, Israel   (08.28.11)
Creation of an arab terrorist state will only lead to the destruction of the state of Israel I oppose this with every fiber of my being. Better idea deport all the so called intellectuals to one of the 22 arabs states of their choice and let them live there.
8. Too bad most Arabs want to replace us, not live side by side
Sam ,   NY, USA   (08.28.11)
9. Never going to happen
Pasquinel ,   London Canada   (08.29.11)
No No No No and No,,,, end.
10. to #5 yep the ego, very high and mighty
ghostq   (08.29.11)
to represent himself as THE voice, usually people refers to those as the bums who call to their prophecies in the street corners.
11. Solution???
aaron   (08.29.11)
I agree that two states would help, if this was a viable solution, which sadly it is not. The Arabs will ALWAYS find (read: create) a "legitimate" reason to hate and want to destroy Israel. And if it is really all about a state, why have they rejected so many offers in the past 60 odd years? I do not believe a Palestinian state has anything to do with peace in the region, Arabs have their own states and still slaughter each other wholesale. It is their culture to fight, the Koran supports this behaviour, and thus fighting is what we see them do. It would be nice if 2 states would bring peace though, but if Arabs don't want Jews here, ther will be no peace.
12. intellectuals favour peaceful pal state
moron ,   galut   (08.29.11)
now if they can just find on map a place big enough for millions of peace-loving pals nobody has actually found and still have an israel then they would be smart..in short just have these wizards of smart make the land bigger
13. Intellectuals, ha ha
Aharon   (08.29.11)
Their logic doesn't make any sense. Let's have Israel sit down and negotiate with a group who went around negotiations and essentially took all the negotiating out of the negotiations, what else would there to be to discuss? It's also a joke to use the arab recognition as an incentive. Why can't they recognize Israel now? What's really preventing their recognition, borders? I don't think so! There are many Israelis who support the idea of a future "palestinian" state, but not with the current leadership. Until the "palestinians" are able to stop their attacks both violent and non-violent, and recognize Israel as the Jewish state, then we may be somewhere.
14. Real "intellectuals" are would realize the danger
PLZ ,   Israel   (08.29.11)
these people are just egoists drunk on rebelliousnessness and their own infated (false) sense of self importance. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
15. Glenn Beck is more an intellectual than they are
Ilan ,   Ariel   (08.29.11)
16. #4 Bunnie
hisham ,   Germany   (08.29.11)
I had adog name Bunnie one day , where did you come from to what soo called israel ?you name seem to me it does not belong to middle east ,,, the Palestinian state is exactly where you live , and you can go back to where you come from , if you dont do that now , one day we will make you do it .
17. to parphrase orwell: some things are so stupid only...
dante ,   uk   (08.29.11)
some things are so stupid, only a member of the intelligentsia could believe them; no ordinary man could be so stupid. is there any probative evidence that there is a consensus for peace among the people that are, today, called "palestinians"? and, if there is not, what is the point of pretending and castigating those who refuse to pretend?
18. These self described "intellectuals" have no intelligence.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.29.11)
A cursory glance at a map is all it takes to prove Israel can't live with a hostile new terror state in our sole tiny Homeland. The self described "intellectuals", who support this abomination, have no intelligence whatsoever.
19. fools, lost naive souls is a more accurate description.
ralph   (08.29.11)
dreamers is wrong.
20. be it 100 or 1000 or 10000, majority isn't always right!
mary of Bethany ,   singapore   (08.29.11)
Was it not "Majority" that kept silent when Hilter swept clean Europe, and burnt the Jews?
21. Have these people ever been to Jerusalem?!
Carl ,   USA   (08.29.11)
Jerusalem is the heart and soul of Israel and the Jewish people. How can they suggest a return to that 19 year period of Jordanian rule under which the city was brutally divided, Jews prohibited from visiting our holy sites and many holy sites were descrated or destroyed! Everywhere in the world people strive to reunify divided cities or divided countries (e.g. Berlin and Germany), yet the same group clamors to divide once again a unitied and thriving city that is open to all faiths.
22. Intelectual in Arab world = terorism
Avram Goldsmith   (08.29.11)
Take 100 intectual and terorist and all became terorists on micro and on macro see Arab spring. No need to be a rocket sience......
23. intellectuals
dr daniel mostrel ,   paris france   (08.29.11)
in democracy intellectuals can speak but the majority brings a governement who leads and decides
24. Intellectuals
Sam M ,   UK   (08.29.11)
Using terms like 'intellectuals' and other meaningless labels is pretentious and undeservedly elevates the status of a tiny minority whose opinions have no more intrinsic worth than anyone elses. Many of these people are no doubt pleased with the attention and readily accept all the attention. Their views though deserve no more credibility than those of waiters, gabage collectors, kitchen porters, bee keepers or any other group of people. Can anyone provide a convincing explanation as to why we should pay any more attention to the opinions of a poet than to a taxi driver. No of course they can't!
25. Weird how they always have to resort to lying
Danny   (08.29.11)
Iran did not accept the 2002 proposal, neither did Hizbollah or Hamas or PIJ. Given these are the people Israel is currently fighting - and not Indonesia or Saudi Arabia - the 2002 declaration was worthless. Even if it was not, when Israel said they wanted to negotiate based on the proposal, the Arabs clammed up. Even if they had not we are seeing in Egypt now how much agreements with dictators is really worth.
26. Palestinian state in 67 borders
Kenneth Margo ,   Nahariya   (08.29.11)
Hear! hear!,look beyond your fear if you want to survive.
27. what has to say after such a crap
Borislava ,   Sofia, Bulgaria   (08.29.11)
Give them country and will make the world crazy with their numbers. Democracy in its kind present in Western societies (include Israel), simply can not happen and grow in the Arab world. We’re not in a J. K. Rowling's book to become with magic wand. In Hamasland not live mostly poets and intellectuals. Permanent invasions from Gaza into Israel are not "tourist trips".
28. Returning to the 1967 borders is insane
MARK KLEIN, M.D. ,   OAKLAND, CA   (08.30.11)
These supposedly bright bulbs ought to consider the implications of returning Latrun and heights above Route 1 to the Palestinians.
29. air heads or bozos
luke sky walker ,   a planet far away   (08.30.11)
30. they have learned nothing from recent history!!!
(08.30.11)
you don't have to look too far to see the failure of oslo, gaza and everything in between.
