1. @ and you remian in your job .ha!
Salma ,   Palestine   (08.29.11)
2. What I don't understand is ...
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (08.29.11)
... how this guy got from beyond the Green Line in Nablus to Tel Aviv. Moreover, in a country of ex-soldiers, many carrying guns, how with just a knife did he succeed in attacking so many before being brought down?
3. #2 you are wrong
Yuval ,   Israel   (08.29.11)
Yes, many are ex-military, essentially everyone is suppose to be ex-military or active duty, however, this isn't the US. You can't pick up a gun at the nearest Walmart, not many carry a sidearm and even less are permitted to use deadly force.
4. To talkbackers # 1,2
PaulZion ,   Israel   (08.29.11)
#1 Salma: You should talk! When was the last time you guys had a democratic election, let alone a REAL democratic election? And you preach to us about accountability? If you want accountability, Israel should go in and dismantle you security forces, and take reprisals against the PA, since the terrorist emanated from an area entirely in their control. So, really, it is you who screwed up. Why is YOUR head of police still in HIS job? Unless, you let him through knowingly, in which case you are accomplices and deserve whatever punishment we choose to dole out. #2, Raymond: Think about this: If you kill the bastard, you will never learn how he got through the fence and who helped him. By keeping him alive and interrogating him, we could reveal a lot more snake pits. BTW, if you have ever done the army and security guard duty, you would know the effect of the element of surprise and the time it takes to react. Sounds like these guys did a great job in reacting swiftly.
5. Israel's reaction
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.29.11)
A week after the attack on Eilat, Grad attacks on Israel's civilian population, Egypt declaring the peace agreement void, Abbas declaring he will never recognize Israel and this terror attack on Tel Aviv, Aharonovitch and Barak react by sending YSM troops to destroy vineyards owned by a Jew near Ariel.
6. Bibi, Why Do You Want to Negotiate?
Dan ,   Florida   (08.29.11)
How can continued negotiation be justified when the other side simply wants to exterminate us. We are witnessing a slow motion Final Solution. 6 Million Jews silently marched to their deaths like sheep to a shearing. 72 years have taught us NOTHING. Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria must be immediately declared sovereign Israeli land. Violent Palestinians must be deported to their homeland on the East Bank and have their homes in Israel demolished. Gaza must be told in no uncertain terms that any further rocket attacks from Gaza will see Gaza exist no more. We have tried negotiating for 63 years and all we have received is more terrorism and more dead Jews. The Palestinians perceive negotiations as a sign of weakness and as they only understand strength, we should show them what real strength truly is by putting them back onto their homeland of Jordan. Let King Abdullah deal with them just as his Father and Grandfather had.
7. Knife attack
Leon ,   Grand Rapids USA   (08.29.11)
I've always been in favor of citizens being armed. If those folks had been armed that thug wouldn't have had a chance. At this time only the criminals and terrorists are armed and peaceful civilians are at their mercy.
8. What i don't understand is ..........
xtian ,   tel-aviv   (08.29.11)
why the taxi driver did'nt alert the police, immediately after his car was stolen.at least it took the idiot minutes to get to haoman 17.Maybe the police could have track him down before he got to that club.
9. #2;Raymond, TO MUCH CREDIT
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.29.11)
It's a good question, but it seems he stole a taxi, I don't think stealing a car (even a taxi) is any big deal, and would start any kind of dragnet, for that alone. Nobody knew he was a terrorist, and that his goal was to kill Jewish people, for shear hate taught to him since birth. Then he apparently drove to the club, and just drove into a crowd, jumped out the taxi and started stabbing people. Now think about it, if anybody...even here in the USA...just drove into a crowd at a nightclub (for no apparent reason known at the time), jumped out of his car, and started stabbing people, how long would it take to bring him down? This wasn't any kind of brilliant attack, it just takes a willingness to die, and not care if you get caught and killed. Anybody in the world with that type of motivation can do it. It not genius, bravery or anything like that, it's just pure unreasonable hatred.
10. #1 Salma - You weren't driving the taxi
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.29.11)
If you're as brave as you pretend to be, you should have been behind the wheel to carry out the attack Which only proves that you're a nerd that's only brave when behind its computer
11. #2 Raymond - Ft. Hood had soldiers
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (08.29.11)
Thousands of them, many armed to the teeth, Maj.Hassan managed to kill & injure dozens upon dozens Why wasn't he brought down before he became a one man execution squad? Unfortunately these things do happen, all eventualities can't be prevented
12. Great job to the police and security
Golani ,   Vineland, USA/Israel   (08.29.11)
The police and security acted quickly. This was a surprise attack by a lone wolf. Generally, unless a lone wolf attacker talks in advance, there is no intelligence available and it appears that this is the case. In an incident such as this, although a lone wolf, he may have had assistance getting to the point of the attack and it is best not to kill the terrorist as he may be able to provide any type of Intel. Other than that fact that this event happened & some of the good guys were hurt, they did a great job at preventing a disaster. The cops and security personnel deserve credit where credit is due... Golani, Counter Terror Security Professional...
13. Great job arresting the terrorists
Rachel ,   USA   (08.29.11)
But big punishment must be enforced as to send message to potential other terrorists like him! Sever punishment to arrested terrorist will save many innocent lives
14. @7: Fallacy of Guns
carlbarry ,   Long Island, USA   (08.29.11)
7, what you didn't figure in is that if guns were freely available to everybody, the attackers would have used guns instead of knives.
15. #9 Right! Plus your leftist courts
Claudia USA ,   Tampa FL   (08.30.11)
penalize Israeli's for defending themselves. Israel should really have FL gun laws for self-defense. Ironically when in Israel you see so many soldiers packing it makes you think the nation is armed, yet civilians, that are certainly better trained by the IDF than Americans could ever think of being, are not armed!
16. #15;Claudia, JUST WONDERING
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.30.11)
I was wondering, why did you say "your leftists courts" since you live in Florida Claudia, aren't they "your" courts too? Heck, we all dislike the legal system. They are crazy though, it drives us all nuts. It seems like it's that way everywhere in the world where there is freedom. I love the Tampa area, I rented a condo at St. Pete, loved the beaches, the people, the weather, it was a great week.
