1. PALLYWOOD DELUXE
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.30.11)
I'll tell you what is hilarious, the sign in the picture that states:"Illegal settlements in East Jerusalem = Obstacle". Then what was the problem before 1967, when there were NO SETTLEMENTS, at all. Not in the West Bank, not in East Jerusalem. Whoops!! Everything was exactly the same as now, so it couldn't be the settlements, right? That is just the latest excuse, how many gullible people are there? More Pallywood games.
2. peace
forehead1 ,   usa   (08.30.11)
why are there settlements at all? when was it decided it was a great idea to build over the green line? please explain. as to the peace "offers" -- there was never a fair offer on the table. none included E. jerusalem. none icluded a right of return. no offer but what israel wants. the wikileaks proved this.
3. Yes you are right in some respects
Ali ,   @1   (08.30.11)
The Problem before 67 was the refugees wanted to go home and the problem now is the settlements and the refugees still want to go home. How is this Pallywood ? These Palestinian people did not ask for any of this but they sure have suffered because of Israel .
4. what about the galil rifles?
zionist forever   (08.30.11)
" Human rights groups said settlers have used weapons to attack palestinians and that Israel has been lax in investigating such incidents " Palestinians have used Galil rifles provided by Yitzhak Rabin to kill Israeli's and non of those incidents have ever been investigated by the PA, It's good to see the IDF giving the settlers weapons and making sure they are fully trained up in how to use them properly instead of trying to take their guns away which they have been doing recently.

You are way off, but obviously, you have a very anti-Israel tone. You ask why there are settlements at all. Then why don’t you ask why are there many Arab villages and cities in Israel at all? Maybe because Israel is a free and democratic society that allows all to live within. Of course there are complaints about how some non-Jewish residents are treated in Israel, but it is only because of security concerns. We as a nation are constantly under attack and some attacks are from within. Most Arab Israeli citizens are perfectly happy living within the State of Israel and have chosen to stay within the borders of Israel and when asked what they would do if a Palestine were to be created, most would stay in Israel since conditions and freedom will always be better in Israel. Now look at some history and understand that Israel was attacked before and since her rebirth in 1947-48. Still, once again, Israel was attacked in 1967, and Israel did win that war as well. Like any other nation, Israel has the right to annex territory that was won in a war, and has the right to negotiate that territory if that decision is made. They did make that decision regarding Sinai, and I am still not convinced that was the right decision. They made the decision again in Gaza, and we all know that this was not the right decision. They made the decision in parts of what you would call the West Bank, and we all know that this is still open for discussion as to whether that was the right decision or not. Israel is a Jewish nation, like it or not and the people that we are tasked to negotiate with refuse to accept that. The world, your world is obviously morally bankrupt. Times are difficult, but that does not mean that we should be force to accept an illegitimate hostile entity called Palestine as neighbors whose ultimate goal is our destruction as well as yours.
6. totaly pallywood!! the settlers hete our troops!!!

7. #3 The refugees need to forget all this "going home" crap.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (08.30.11)
8. They do deserve an Academy Award for Pallywood.
Golani ,   Vineland, USA/Israel   (08.30.11)
They sure did ask for it. The attacked Israel in 1967 as Jordanians and lost. They attacked before as terrorists or supporters of terrorism.
9. Settlements add nothing to security, but cost plenty.
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.30.11)
IDF will do this, do that. It is expensive and inefficient to have borders/fences around each settlement, have security people trained, give them weapons which they carry to their synagogues. Isn't it hard to sleep on a pillow with a gun under it? A two-states solution would be much better -- more effective and less costly. There is still time to get back to the Green Lines and be proactive on securing a stable peace for a secure Israel.

They are Citizens - NOT Settlers
14. very good
alexi   (08.30.11)
settlers or israeli patriots as I call them have to be all of them self reliant in martial military skills and studying torah is no excuse to avoid such training. as well, settlers should use aggressive dogs as deterrents. Ultimately it may be necessary to jews to proclaim the autonomous republic of judea and samaria in order to reclaim the homeland since the oslo crowd and obama regard even e. jerusalem as foreign territory. One question for readers-were the cannanites at all connected to arabs racially or in any way?
15. whose land is whose?

16. The Arabs with their 23 states and unbelievable
olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (08.30.11)
landmass and natural resources are seeking the destruction of our state in the name of the socalled refugee problem rubbish. What about dividing your landmass for peace !!
17. fair deals
Yaniv ,   USA   (08.30.11)
so you call right of return fair, by swamping Israel and destroying it demographically so you call giving up of E J'slem fair, Israel gave a fair warning to Jordan during the 67 war saying we will not attack if you don't and Jordan attacked thus E J'slem was taken back fair is not one sided Israel has given up land 98% of what it captured in the 67 war for peace yet look at what it got for it an internationally recognized terrorist organizations in the North controlling 2 countries, a internationally recognized terrorist organization in the east, a terrorist organization on its south, also with a country that it has been with peace with for years that now wants to cancel the peace, and terrorist NGOs within Israel and trying to come in from the west via ships through an internationally legal naval blockade...what is fair about being surrounded by hate, war and terrorism, physically, mentally, and internationally...you want to talk about fair all the international aid for the palistinian people (the most aid given to a single people in the world) goes to the pockets of the politicians, that is not fair to the people

Although most of the nomadic Arabs came to Israel/Palestine after the early 1900's, israel does not take the argument that the Arab residents of Israel are not citizens. In fact, it is the opposite, they are citizens, and some serve in the IDF and Israel National Police. Would you think that the Palestinians Nation would even allow Jews to live in their country, even though it is actually our land? Remember there are always two sides to every argument, the right side and the wrong side. I sure am glad that I am on the right side.
19. #2;forehead 1, THE TRUTH 2nd try
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (08.30.11)
Before 1967 there were no settlements in the West Bank or Jerusalem, none! Yet the Arabs had already started 3 wars (1948, 1956, 1967), and countless terrorist attacks, no different from now. You forget history, after the 6 day war, a war of self defense for Israel. When many Arab countries tried to annihilate Israel and lost that land. That was June 10, 1967. It was September 1, 1967 just about 3 months later, the Arab League in Khartoum issued the famous proclamation of the "The 3 No's". No to peace with Israel, No to negotiations with Israel, No to recognition of Israel. So it wasn't that Israel didn't make "any fair offers", as you put it. It was the official Arab position not to accept any "offers" from Israel at all. Now you want to forget that, and blame Israel, nonsense!! BTW, can you name any war in history where the losers of the war, dictated the terms of surrender?
20. This is indeed very correct.
Keren ,   IL-BR   (08.30.11)
But I ask:why does govt.acts so many times against "settlers",threatening their very existence in the same way "palestinians"do? Should'nt them also be armed against govt. when govt are there to destroy them? What's the difference please? Can somebody answer me please? I think this govt.(as previous) acts in a bit schyzophrenic way.Frankly.And if not schyzophrenic, in tiranic and despotic way, using a stick and a glove against Israelis when that's convenient for them in govt.. I don't like this....Not at all.
21. #9 we need foreigners tell us what to do ..
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.30.11)
Like we need more Arab terrorists. You haven't a clue what our villages in Judea and Samaria do for us. The Arabs only demand is everything we have including our lives. I refuse to die for those fascists or for foreign idiots like you either for that matter.
22. #3Ali AND JEWISH REFUGEES OF 1948?
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (08.30.11)
I don't suppose it has occurred to Ali that the Jewish residents of eastern Jerusalem who were expelled by Arab armies in 1948 might also have wanted to go back home. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
23. #13
Golani ,   Vineland, USA/Israel   (08.30.11)
I bet you didn't know that the Arab villages in Israel have grown by about 89% since 1948 and probably close to that since 67. It must be because Israel makes life so difficult and controlling for the Arab population.
24. This land is ours and we're through playing games.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.30.11)
It is way past time for Israel to stop treating our deadly "Palestinian" foes with kid gloves. If they attack our communities in Judea and Samaria (or anywhere - they recently attacked Tel Aviv), they should be forced to pay an extremely high cost. We should pursue them and punish them with no mercy whatsoever. This land is ours and we're through playing games.
25. #9. Your attacks on Judea/Samaria are 100% rubbish.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.30.11)
#9. Have you ever glanced at a map of Israel? All it takes is a cursory glance, at a map, to prove Judea and Samaria make Israel viable. Without Judea and Samaria, Israel would have a 9 miles (15 minute tank ride) waist. Israel could not survive another decade without Judea and Samaria. Moreover, Judea and Samria are thriving communities which contribute greatly to Israel economically and in ever since. They also legally belong to Israel. Your constant attacks on Judea and Samaria are 100% rubbish.
26. #21, #25 -- IDF top brass said Yesha not needed for security
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.30.11)
Gosh Gee and Chaim, want to compare your knowledge of Israel to mine, your knowledge of Hebrew to mine, your service of Israel to mine, your level of idi*cy and rubbish talking to mine? At the least, your inferiority would behoove you to be civilized once in a while.
27. to 26 Michael USA
Ishmail ,   Gaza   (08.31.11)
Lol-you sund like our frend.Must to Gaza. All we want pease not war.
28. #26. IDF & Israel oppose ceding our Judea & Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.31.11)
#26. If you look, you can find a few delusional leftists in the IDF, who want to cede our 3,500 year old heartland to our mortal foes. However, they represent a tiny and ever shrinking minority. That is not my opinion. Both elections and polls prove it. One recent, highly publicized poll showed almost 80% of Israeli Jews oppose ceding our Judea and Samaria. Not only are Judea and Samaria vital for Israel's survival; they legally belong to Israel and always will. That fact has been proven by many leading international law authorities, including Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242.
29. Arming the settler thugs
Haim ,   TA   (08.31.11)
a very dangerous development, now the likes of Itamar Ben-Gvir and Baruch Marzel's can become armed and dangerous. Still let the games begin ...
30. #26 let's compare
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.31.11)
I retired from the Artillery Corps with over 25 years. How about you? I was also an American Army Officer, you? Am willing to compare what ever you want to attempt, but yes I KNOW far more about the subject that you will ever know.
